            Hey insiders!

As seasons change, so does our wardrobe.  This time of year, the weather gets cooler which causes us to pull out our scarves and sweaters.  Recently, I’ve seen many popular and stylish accessory trends spread throughout magazines, fashion websites, and even at schools worn by kids and teens.

Chelsea Crockett - Fall Accessories Hats are accessories that can be rocked in any season, but there are a couple ones that are necessities to have during this time of year.  Beanies are casual, cute, and can be worn to all your fall events such as bonfires, football games, etc.  Whether they’re fitting to your head or hang off the back, you can style your beanie however you prefer!

Since most schools don’t allow hats, teens have to find other fun ways to accessorize and show their individuality.  Scarves are the perfect way to do so.  With all their fun colors, patterns, and styles you can add some color to your outfit.  In case you don’t know, infinity scarves are definitely a popular trend.  Because they don’t have an end, you simply wrap them around your neck two to three times and you’re set!

Lastly, it’s time to pull out your autumn handbags!  Colors such as browns, yellows, tans, and oranges look great on purses during this time of year.  Of course, you can change up your look with crossbody bags, hobo bags, or shoulder bags.

So as you see the colors of the leaves start to change, it’s time to show off these trends!

Guide to Fall Colors

             Hey girls!

Just as trends come and go, so do colors, and knowing when to break them out is tough.  For example, wearing white shoes, pants, or handbags after Labor Day and before Memorial Day is a fashion “don’t.”  So, what colors pop during autumn?  Keep reading to find out!

You probably guessed it, but what color is better to sport during fall than orange?  Wearing an orange shirt and pairing it with neutral colored shoes and a cute handbag is a perfect casual outfit for a day at the mall.  Not a fan of orange?  Try out red or yellow.  These shades are similar to orange aChelsea Crockett - Fall Outfit - Fall Colorsnd still give off an autumn feel.

Another color that’s a fall favorite is chocolate brown.  The perfect brown accessory is a purse.  This matches almost any outfit you want to throw on.  It complements orange, red, and yellow perfectly, yet doesn’t take the focus away from your bright autumn shades.

As I’ve stated before, plaid is back!  Although it’s a pattern, not a color, plaid has made a comeback and looks great as an oversized button-up.  Rock this look with leggings and boots or flats.

If you’re one who follows the Labor Day rule, then you’ll need a white substitute.  Cream, ivory, nude, or even a light, rosy pink will do the job.  These colors can fill in for your white accessories you put away for fall.

                                                Hope this helped! – Chels

            Hello lovelies!

One of my favorite things about autumn is the fun that comes with Halloween.  You can find pumpkins and jack-o-lanterns on almost every street.  Aside from being perfect decorations for the season, carving and decorating pumpkins is a fun activity no matter what age you are!  Whether you’re carving for fun or for a decorating competition, you’re going to need unique thoughts to make your pumpkin your own!

A great idea I know girls wilChelsea Crockett - Glitter Pumpkinl love is to glitter-up your pumpkins.  Lay out a few pieces of newspaper and set out your pumpkin.  The best way to do this is to purchase a can of spray adhesive.  Spray your preferred deign on your pumpkin.  While it’s still wet, sprinkle whatever color glitter you want on the glue.  It should turn out girly, sparkly, and attention-catching!

Chelsea Crockett - Fretwork PumpkinOne idea that’s not just for the ladies, is a fretwork patterned jack-o-lantern.  An example of this, is the picture on the left.  After scooping out the seeds and insides of the pumpkin, you will be ready to go. To begin this design, take a thick piece of tape and make a ring around your pumpkin.  You’ll need to have a drill with two different sized drill bits, one large and one small.  Then, drill rows of circles around the tape creating a design you think looks best!  When your design is complete, place a votive candle inside the pumpkin and light it.

Voila!  You have a polka dotted, glowing jack-o-lantern!

I hope these ideas gave you a little originality this fall.  I can’t wait to see how yours all turned out!

                                                                           Hey everyone!

Halloween’s right around the corner, which means bonfires, hayrides, parties, and other festivities are, too!  If you’re hosting (or helping host) a Halloween-themed party, you’re going to need fun and festive treats for your guests to snack on.  Below are a few creative and decorative ideas for yummy foods and snacks!

Chelsea Crockett - Apple PlatterAll candy and sweets aside, fun appetizers are a perfect way to kick off your party.  One of my favorite ideas is a dipping platter for apples.  Get an oval shaped platter and spread an eight ounce tub of cream cheese in the middle of the platter.  Then lay apple slices all around the outer ring of the cream cheese!  Drizzle some caramel sauce on top and bon appetite!

The most important part of Chelsea Crockett - Ghost PretzelsHalloween, is the sweets!  Anything dipped in chocolate is perfect for me, so this treat is a cute idea and so yummy!  Take a bunch of pretzels sticks and dip about one third of each them into white chocolate.  Then, take black icing and draw little faces on them for the resemblance of ghosts!  Some stores even sell little icing pens to make it a lot easier for decorating.

Another dessert idea is to make spider cupcakes.  Ice your cupcakes with chocolate icing and use strips of black licorice for legs.  Small marshmallows with a dot of black icing in the middle will work for eyes.  It’s a silly way to celebrate the season.  Enjoy this time of year with family, friends, and the tasty treats that come with it!

                                                Happy Halloween!

            Hi everyone!

It’s officially fall and we all know what that means!  Spooky costumes and creepy get-ups are a necessity for trick-or-treating or Halloween parties.  Since I am a beauty guru, I’m going to show you a few looks you can pull off using makeup this holiday.

First off, I recently put up a video showing how I transformed my little brother into a zombie.  For a tutorial on the look, go to my YouTube channel and watch the video entitled “Zombie Makeup Tutorial!”  This makeup is perfect for any boy, or girl, that wants to have a scaretastic costumeJ.

Another fun idea for some of my younger fans is a scarecrow.  For this look, all you need is some black eyeliner, orange face paint, and red lipstick.  To start the process, take your eyeliner and draw a line extending from the corners or your lips to the bottom of your ears.  Then draw a triangle on the tip of your nose.  Throughout the lines, make dash marks to give the effect of stitching that any scarecrow should have.  Fill in the triangle on your nose with orange face paint.  While using the face paint, make two circles on the centers of your cheeks.  Lastly, take your eyeliner and draw squiggly lines coming fromChelsea Crockett – Fairy beneath your eyes almost like sun rays.  Finish it off with your red lipstick and you’re complete!

Chelsea Crockett - FairyFor my girly-girls out there, a fairy look is just right for a Halloween get-up!  To pull this off, create your own kind of swirls coming from your eyes.  If you’re confused, check out the example to the left.  Make sure you use a lot of glitter and rhinestones.  Nothing says fairy more than a bunch of sparkle!

I can’t wait to see how they all turn out!

            What’s up insiders?

Beanie hats are not only good for keeping you warm, but also for making a look go from ordinary to trendy.  You may assume you just throw on one of these and you’re set, but first you should probably read up on your “Beanie 101”WinkChelsea Crockett - Beanies

If you’re looking for a more edgy outfit, a black or grey beanie is the perfect accessory.  Although plain, solid-colored beanies will work, try finding one with a cool logo or emblem on the front.  This will look better when you pair your hat with skinny jeans and a leather jacket.  Also, throw on some combat boots and a concert tee.  This will give you the street look that’s a definite “in” in Hollywood right now.

As for more of a sweet, girly look, find a light, pastel colored beanie.  These are a super cute accessory to pair with an oversized sweater and leggings.  Get out your boots and a cross-over purse to finish up a casual, yet stylish outfit.

Most of the time, I see most trend-setters rocking an over-sized beanie and slouching it towards the back of their head.  If you’d rather find a more fitting one to wear normally on the top of your head, that’s perfectly fine!  Don’t be afraid to make the style your own!  That’s what fashion’s all about, isn’t it?

            Hey girls!

Shimmering shoes are a definite “in” this fall.  Every outfit can use a little extra shine to make it go from ordinary to exceptional.  Not just shimmering, but metallic kicks are a way to spice up your look.  Silver shoes are super chic and perfect for balancing an attention-catching yet subtle feel to your outfit.

Chelsea Crockett - Silver ShoesIf you have a dance approaching, a perfect way to complement your dress is with silver heels.  Tying your outfit together with a metallic, silver belt will bring out the chicness of your stylish look.

Not only does this trend have to be for formal outings, but casual events, too!  Shining silver flats are a great way to complement a denim.  So make sure you grab your jeans or denim button up and rock it with a pair of metallic flats.  These shoes aren’t only for denim, but almost any autumn outfit you want to try out this season.

Although this post is mainly about shoes, shimmering purses are also a cute trend this time of year.  And hey, maybe if you’re a true fashionista, you can rock both accessories at the same timeJ!

                                                Good luck!

Hey insiders!

Since fall’s almost here, it’s time to break out your pants and pack up your shorts.  As autumn’s cool months roll in, you’ll be seeing everything from patterned leggings to colorful jeans.

First, I want to talk all about jeans.  Not just denim, but solids, stripes, polka dots, and lots more.  Solid colored jeans are my favorite because they’re super cute, but still extremely casual.  You can wear these to school without being too “dressed up” but still catch other’s attention with your fashionable outfitWink.  Pair them with a matching scarf and you’re set!  Check them out here:http://tiny.cc/ColoredJeans!Chelsea Crockett - Patterned Jeans

Another popular trend that I see repeat almost every fall, is patterned jeans.  I love, love, love fun patterns and colors so you can guess I own a pair or two of these!  A few hot patterns are floral, striped, plaid, and printed.  Some are extra creative and add studs or even lace!

Of course, I can’t forget leggings.  One of my favorite things about fall are big, over-sized sweaters.  Wearing a cute pair of leggings is a great idea to pair with those comfy sweaters.  Just like jeans, you can find solid colored or printed leggings!  They even have galaxy and cross printed ones!

Hope this gives you a little help to prepare for fall!

Hey Insiders!

So, I’ve been thinking about things I enjoy doing in the fall.  One thing that is always fun is Fright Fest at Six Flags.  It’s thrills by day and chills by night. When the sun goes down, it transforms into a Halloween playground!  It goes from Friday through Sunday on certain dates in September and October.  You can check the Six Flags website for more info.

Costumes are allowedChelsea Crockett - Fright Fest for children 12 and under.  They even have some trick or treating going on.  However, for teens and older, once the sun sets, ghouls and goblins come out to haunt the streets!  It’s always fun being chased by a ghost!  You can experience your favorite roller coaster in the dark as well.  They offer zombie paintball, a haunted house (Even though those aren’t real, I still freak out!) and a gruesome maze.

So Insiders, if its thrills and chills you are looking for this fall, Six Flags offers a haunting adventure.  Grab some friends, brave the streets, and find some creepy characters at the park!  It’ll be lots of fun and you just might start a fall tradition with your friends!

                                                   Happy Haunting!

Repair Unwanted Summer Damage

Hey everyone!  With summer coming to a close, we want to make sure we’re looking our best for the upcoming school year.  Throughout the summer, our skin and hair receive unwanted damage from too many days in the pool and sun.  Luckily, with the help of developed products, you can easily fix your dead skin and body cells!

I know most of us love swimming and days at the pool, but of course, too much of anything is never good.  Most pools contain chlorine which creates some bad effects on our bodies.  Chlorine dries out your skin and hair and even brings redness to your eyes.  To fix your post-pool hair, try using the Philip Kingsley Swimcap.  This cream repairs the dried and damaged parts of your hair and also protects it from the sun next time you take a dip at the pool.  Even members of the U.S. Olympic Swim Team use this, so you know it’s the real deal.

As far as skin goes, getting too much sun can end up in a nasty sunburn.  Sunburns damage the cells on your body and even worse, on your face.  The perfect solution to help cool the burn is aloe.  You can find aloe almost anywhere, but finding aloe for your face is tricky.  If you’re like me, you’ll need something that’s good on sensitive skin.  Clinique’s “After-Sun Rescue Balm with Aloe” is oil-free and calms sun-exposed skin.  To help your cracked lips, try either EOS or Burt’s Bees’ Conditioning Balm.  Both products will soothe the burning feeling and repair the damage in your lips.Chelsea Crockett - Repair Summer Damage

Hey ladies!  One of the newest and hottest trends of the season are maxi dresses and skirts.  They seemed to have spread throughout teens and slowly replaced sundresses and short skirts. Chelsea Crockett - Maxi Dresses

Maxi dresses are super fashionable and can be dressed up or dressed down.  Even just a day at the mall is perfect for throwing on your favorite maxi dress.  You can pair your dress with heels, wedges, or, to make it a little more casual, flats.  My favorite places to shop for maxis are Francesca’s Collections, Charlotte Russe, and, of course, Forever 21.  The best thing about shopping at these places is that they’re very affordable but still extremely cute.

Another hot trend that I’ve, yet again, seen almost everywhere is maxi skirts.  They’re very similar to maxi dresses, but you can match it with a crop top or another cute shirt!  My favorite way to wear these are with a chunky necklace and a crop top to add to my skirt!

Hey girlies!  L’Oreal is one of my favorite hair and makeup brands with its great quality and awesome products.  They’ve been in business for years, but I’ve just recently heard about their “Total Repair 5” hair treatment.

For full effect, it includes a shampoo, conditioner, and damage-erasing balm.  Even just the shampoo itself gives you already noticeable soft hair.  Each product in the treatment contains ceramide which is a type of lipid that benefits your hair.  Whenever you use a certain product that contains ceramide, it restores the natural properties of your hair, making it smoother and softer.  Without ceramide, your hair would be damaged and dry.

Both the shampoo and conditioner worChelsea Crockett - Damage Erasing Balmk amazing, but the damage-erasing balm is where most of the magic happens.  It instantly repairs the five signs of damage: 1.Split Ends 2.Weak 3.Rough 4.Full 5.Dehydrated.  While you’re in the shower, all you have to do is message it through your hair and let it sit for 3-5 minutes.  It’s as simple as that!

Another product of the series is the Multi-Restorative Dry Oil.  This is a daily leave-in treatment that works continuously throughout the day.  Apply this oil to damp hair and style your hair as you usually would.  This will make your hair shine and tame those unwanted flyaways!

Hey girls!  I know it’s hard to believe, but fall is only weeks away!  This means it’s almost time to ditch the shorts and tanks for jeans and jackets.  The trends this season are some of my favorites and I want to share them all with you!

As I’ve mentioned in another one of my articles, studs are super trendy and fun for this season!  Chelsea Crockett - Studded OutfitAnything such as shoes, pants, shirts, and accessories always look better with a little shine!  People have gotten really creative and even tried studs on their nails and phone cases!

Prints such as cheetah and snakeskin are yet another thing you’ll see throughout almost any fashion magazine.  Even patterns such as spots or stripes are hot in Hollywood.

Chelsea Crockett - Two Toned Pants Like denim’s not enough, coated denim is a stylish and chic trend.  For those of you that are unsure of what coated denim is, it’s a pair of denim pants that almost have a light shimmer overcoat.  I love these pants because they can be dressed up and can add a little bit of shine to your outfit!

And lastly, two toned clothing is super stylish and highly fashionable.  These pants are extremely cute because you can make them your own by adding fun shoes and accessories!

I hope you all are rocking these trends this upcoming fall!

Hey insiders!  Although I’m mostly a makeup girl, I love, love, love trying out new polishes and designs on my nails.  In my last Buy & Try video, I mentioned a couple nail polishes that I tried out and absolutely adored!  Since school’s almost here, I’m going to suggest a few of the best colors that’ll make you pop this school year.

One of my new favorite brands of nail color is called “Starrily.”  The coolest thing about these polishes is that they are homemade.  Their colors are also super fun, unique, and great quality.  Most of the polishes look like glittery confetti and are very bright and colorful, which I love!  If you want more of a simple look, they also carry solid polishes that are just as cute.Chelsea Crockett - Starrily Nail Polishes

A really big trend of the summer has been bold, colorful nails.  I’ve seen many celebrities almost everywhere mixing bright pink and blue polishes with a duller look to add a pop to their outfits.  Although it was a summer trend, I think bringing it into the school year is a perfect way to catch peoples’ attention on your first dayWink!

And of course, you can’t forget the naturals.  Grays, tans, and whites are a timeless trend when it comes to nails.  Adding a topcoat of shimmer or sparkles will still give you that fun look you want but at the same time, it keeps it simple.  Enjoy!

Hey darlings!  Blazers are one of my favorite articles of clothing that give off a sophisticated feel to your outfit.  They can be dressed up or even dressed down.  Finding a perfect outfit to pair with your blazer isn’t hard at all with a few helpful pointers!

  1. Throw on a blazer with your favorite pair of colored skinny jeans.  Adding a pop of color to any outfit is nice, but pairing them with a black blazer looks even better.  Although sophisticated, it still gives off a fun, young feel.Chelsea Crockett - Blazer w scarf
  2. Try adding a scarf!  Whether it’s colorful or black and white, adding this creates an older look and makes you look even classierWink.
  3. Crop tops!  Surprisingly, crop tops work with almost anything.  They provide a sleek look to your blazer and bring a chic and edgy feel to your outfit, as well.
  4. Last but not least, try pulling off a modern look.  Simply pairing your black blazer with jeans and a gray tee is super cute and easy.  Not to mention it’s also very casual so you can wear it almost anywhere!  Dress it up with heels or dress it down with flats, whatever works!
