Hey insiders!  When it comes to joining a new school, I think of nerves and wanting to fit in.  Some of you may have moved to a new state and already have butterflies about the first day of class.  Others could be transitioning into high school or junior high.  Whatever it is, we all have those first-day-of-school nerves that we just can’t shake off!  Here are a few tips to help calm you down.Chelsea Crockett - School

#1: Be yourself!  When it comes to making new friends, being yourself is the perfect way to find a group of friends that fit you.  This way you can have fun without trying to be someone you’re not.

#2: Join clubs!  Whether it’s a volleyball or art club, you’ll be sure to find people with the same interests as you!  You’ll also have a fun time while doing it!

#3: Don’t get into the wrong crowd!  If you ever feel yourself uncomfortable with your new group of friends, don’t feel the need to stay with it.  Peer pressure is an awful thing and it’s easier to get out in the beginning than trying to use the same excuses over and over again.

Joining a new school is not as nearly as bad as everyone thinks!  With these tips, there’s no need to be nervous.  Just be yourself and have fun!

Back to School: Ways to Organize Your Locker

Hey everyone!  We don’t want to accept it, but school is coming up faster than we think.  Staying organized is one of the biggest things we need to do to succeed throughout the year.  Whether you’re in high school or grade school, you will most likely have a locker to be responsible for keeping it clean and organized.

Chelsea Crockett - LockerFirst off, dividing and keeping your books in a certain spot each day is a good way to quickly know which book to grab before class.  Buying locker shelves or dividers are perfect for organizing your books, binders, and notebooks.  Click here to check out Amazon’s selection of locker accessories!  To help remember which books are which, try organizing them alphabetically, by color, or in order of your classes.  This will help you easily remember which books to throw in your backpack before class.

Another fun tip is to keep a small whiteboard on the side of your locker.  This way you can write notes, reminders, and needed homework for the next day or for what to take home.  Every once and a while remember to take out any old and unneeded homework or papers.  A cluttered locker leads to an unorganized one!

Hope this makes going back to school a little easier!

Hey everyone!  Because the weather is so nice during this season, it’s perfect for outside activities.  Water parks, camping, and swimming are all perfect things to do during a hot, sunny day in the summer.  One thing you may have not thought of is the drive-in.

If you have a drive-in near you, it’s a perfect summer way to see that new movie you’ve been wanting to see.  Whether it’s with your family or your best friends, it’s a fun way to see the film.  My favorite thing about the drive-in is bringing a bunch of snacks for you and your guests to enjoy!  Popcorn, candy, and soda are perfectWink.Chelsea Crockett - Drive-In

Maybe you can’t access a drive-in near you, but that’s okay!  There’s another creative way to spend your night!  If you take a projector and set it up facing a solid wall or possibly your garage you’ve made your own drive-in movie theater!  You can set out a few blankets or chairs and have a movie night right in your own yard!  Perfect!

Hey girls!  With summer here, most of us will be traveling and doing some pretty exciting things.  I know I’m not the only one taking a ton of pictures and creating a lot of memories with my friends and family.

To document these, I suggest keeping a summer journal!  If you travel a lot, writing down the places you go and the people you meet is a great keepsake and fun to look back at.  Any other exciting or memorable events you go to can be put in your journal as well.  You can print out your pictures, or develop them, and add them into your journal entry, too!Chelsea Crockett - Journal

Another fun thing about keeping a journal is that you can design and decorate it exactly how you want to!  Whether it’s simple and plain or overwhelmed by stickers and glitter, you can decorate it whatever way suits you.  If you have a Polaroid camera, taking pictures on that and quickly adding them in your entry give it a vintage look and is an easier way to develop your pics!

Usually journals are not very expensive and can be found at a nearby store like Target or Hobby Lobby.  Tweet or Instagram a picture of your Summer Journal and I’ll try and take a look at it! Enjoy!

Summertime Skin Tips

Hey ladies!  Keeping your skin healthy is a daily struggle for girls year round, but during the summer this task seems even more difficult.  As we all know, there are lots of products to try out on our skin to reduce unwanted breakouts.  But what we don’t know is that there are many things we can do in our everyday routine to reduce our imperfections.

Chelsea Crockett - WaterSince it is summer, most of us will be spending the majority of our time outside in the high temperatures and hot sun.  Be sure to get very comfortable with H2O.  Water helps maintain the moisture in our skin and body.  Our body needs at least eight glasses of water to stay properly hydrated.  If you’re a soda or coffee drinker and need your daily boost of caffeine, you’ll need to triple the amount of water you drink!

Because summer is a time for fun in the sun activities, make sure you apply (and reapply) sunscreen!  Some of us think we only need to apply sunscreen once and we’re set for the day.  But studies show that to have full protection, we must apply every hour and a half to two hours.  If we don’t, the result will be a sunburn.  Sunburns damage the molecules in our skin and produce redness, pain, swelling, and sometimes peeling.  Another negative is that they make you feel hot and tired, and who wants that?Chelsea Crockett - Exfoliating Skin

Another quick tip is to exfoliate your skin.  Doing this gets rid of the dead skin on your face.  If you don’t get rid of it, it sets on your face making it look dry, dead, and dull.

Hope this helps you get glowing and healthy skin!

Hey girls!  Going to the beach this summer?  If so, you’ll need to know the hottest beach wear trends.  From sunglasses down to your flip flops, you can be dressed in the cutest looks from head to toe.

Chelsea Crockett - SunglassesAs far as sunglasses go, there are many different styles and shapes to try out.  One type that’s always in style is the Wayfarer.  The classic oval shape is also timeless and you can rock it with any look.  You can find some here:http://tiny.cc/WayfarerSunglasses!  Don’t forget to throw a pair in your favorite beach tote!  Speaking of totes, finding one isn’t hard.  You can purchase a simple beach bag at a nearby Target, Macy’s, or even JC Penny’s.  Roxy and Billabong are two other shops that carry super cute totes and bags as well.

A beach day wouldn’t be complete without your favorite swimsuit and cover up.  Target carries many fashionable swimsuits from a regular triangle style to a strapless bandeau top.  Chelsea Crockett - SwimsuitOther stores such as Victoria’s Secret and PacSun also have a wide variety of colorful and fun swimwear for you to show off at the beach.

Although most of your time will be spent in the water, running around in the sand, and working on a nice tan, you can’t go without a good pair of sandals.  DSW sells a large amount of sandals, flip flops and wedges and features some of the best designers such as Steve Madden, click here and see!

I hope you consider these tips next time you take a trip to the beach.  Enjoy!

Hey everyone!  Because they’re cool, stylish, and easy to throw on, sandals are my favorite shoes for the summer.  You can wear them to the beach or out to a nice dinner.  With their interchangeable patterns and styles, you can be sure to find a pair to match any outfit.

Chelsea Crockett - Sandals One of my favorite type of sandal is the T-strap.  Whether you have on a sundress or shorts, you can throw on a pair to complete your look!  T-strap sandals have an enormous variety of styles from sparkles and rhinestones to a simple plain color.

If you’re going out for the night or to a special occasion, buy a fun pair of sandal heels or wedges.  These will be sure to catch people’s attention and turn their heads.  If your feet get sore easily, throw an extra pair of flats in your bag just in caseWink.

And of course you can’t forget the flip flops.  I wear flip flops almost everywhere throughout the summer.  They’re super comfortable and casual.  They are perfect for the pool or just running errands!

There are still so many more types of sandals to try out this summer.   Enjoy!

Hello girls!  With the hot, sunny weather that comes along with summer, you’ll need something to cool you off.  What’s a better way to do so than a cool, yummy snack?  One of my favorite summer treats are popsicles.  Although most contain large amounts of sugar, there are a few do-it-yourself recipes that are healthy and just as good!  Here is one of them.

Chelsea Crockett -Yogurt PopsiclesA delicious substitution for popsicles is a yogurt pop.  They’re easy to make and taste great!  All you need is a container of your favorite yogurt.  Then cut a small line in the top of the yogurt and place a wooden stick for holding inside.  Make sure the yogurt cups are narrower at the bottom than the top.  Then, set them on a flat surface inside your freezer for an hour or two until they become frozen.  After you take them out, run the outside of the container under warm water and the yogurt pop should slip right out!  Yum!

Another creative way to make popsicles for the sugar lovers out there is with Kool Aid.  Make a jar of your favorite flavor of Kool Aid.  For the next step, you’ll need popsicle molds to put your Kool Aid in.  Once you have them, pour in your Kool Air and put plastic wrap over the top.  Set them in the freezer until it becomes solid enough to hold a wooden stick in place.  Put it back in the freezer until they become frozen.  Once they’re solid, take them out and enjoy!

These are only a couple do-it-yourself recipes and there are many more to try out!  Enjoy!

Hey insiders!  Whether you’re trying a natural look or a colorful one, you’ll need a pop of color to fully complete it.  As for me, I am never specifically set on a certain shade.  If I’m going for a more subtle look, I’ll finish it off with a clear or light pink gloss.  If I’m feeling a little more adventurous, I use a red or hot pink color which is fun and will be sure to turn heads.

With summer here, one of my favorite glosses is the “Kiss of Cherry” fruity lip care by Nivea which I talked briefly about in my May Favorites 2013 video.  It has an SPF of 15 which comes in handy during a day outside or at the pool.  It also moisturizes your lips and gives them a smooth feel which is definitely a plus!Chelsea Crockett - Red Lips

Another shade that I can throw on with almost anything is a raspberry shade.  It’s a fun color that highlights those rosy cheeks.  It blends with any look and gives off a bright summer shimmer to your sun kissed skin!

Hope this helps you next time you’re looking for a pop of color to your daily makeup!

 Hi Insiders!

Chelsea Crockett- beach bagIf you’ve been following me on YouTube, then you know I just got back from Florida.  Florida is full of beaches and being prepared for a day at the beach is very important.  I love to carry a big beach bag full of activities and necessities for being out in the sun.  Of course, I’ve got a big beach towel to lay out on and dry off before heading back to the hotel.  Another great thing to keep in your beach bag is magazines.  They will keep you entertained while laying out and are just fun to read!  Sunscreen is an obvious must for a beach bag as well.  My favorite is Neutrogena Sheer Touch SPF 30 and Neutrogena Clear Face SPF 55 for my face.  It’s not oily, so you won’t have to worry about breakouts.  I also found this cool brush from Goody called the Quikstyle Paddle Brush that has small microfibers that act as a towel to dry your hair while you brush it.  It’s a great way to dry your hair without any tangles.  Last, I like to keep a small makeup bag with all the essentials, including concealer, SPF lip balm, and waterproof Chelsea Crockett- goody paddlebrushmascara.  To end my day in the sun, I like to wipe my face with Burt’s Bees toner.  It restores your skins natural PH levels and takes off any excess makeup, dirt, salt water, etc.  It’ll leave your face feeling clean after a day at the beach!

Love ya,

One way to impress your dad is baking him sweets or a cake.  All over the internet, you can find cute ideas for cakes such as in the shape of a tie or a sports themed cake.  Cake pops and cupcakes are also a fun way to show off your baking skills.

Instead of being the chef, maybe your father is a sports fanatic!  Buying him his favorite team’s jersey is a good, and not too expensive, way to make him smile.  If you have a higher budget, purchase a ticket or two to a baseball, football, or hockey game (whatever your old man prefersWink).

Besides buying him a present, making him a homemade card is heartfelt and just as meaningful.  Be sure to write inside the card and tell your dad just how much he means to you.  He would probably appreciate that gift more than anything else!  So get creative and show your love for your dad this holiday!

Hey girls!  We all know how much I love trying out new hairstyles and what’s a better time than summer?  Whether you wear it up or down, there’s always a cute and stylish way to show off those beautiful locks!

One of the first looks I go to is the messy or high bun.  They’re easy to throw up and work with any outfit.  One of the best things about a bun is that it’s okay for them to look messyWink.  Just throw it up and wear it how you want!

Another one of my on-the-go styles is a side braid.  Along with being super easy, you can make it your own by doing the many different styles there are.  Fishtailing and French braiding are just a couple ideas on how to make your braid fun and unique!

Chelsea Crockett - Beach WavesLast but definitely not least, are beach waves.  I absolutely love this look because it gives off the summer feel and adds the beachy look to your sun kissed tan.  At almost any beauty salon you can find a spray to help give you that ocean air vibe.

How to Get Fit for the Summer

Hey ladies! Summer’s right around the corner and your summer body can be, too!  As I said in my “How to Prepare for Summer” video, getting and staying in shape isn’t hard at all with a little motivation and dedication!

Eating right is one of the main steps in order to staying healthy.  Instead of potato chips, I recommend veggie chips!  They contain a far less amount of calories and are a healthy snack that tastes just as good.  If you like to cook, I suggest using almond or walnut oil in substitute to vegetable oil. Eat many fruits and vegetables and drink a lot of water!  It will help keep your face clear and keep you hydrated.  Water also energizes you because it absorbs the minerals and keeps them in your body for a longer amount of time.

Chelsea Crockett - RunningThe biggest step to getting that summer body is exercise.  A few of my favorite exercises are jumping lunges, donkey kicks, sky jumps, and a few others which you can check out in the video below.  As for cardio workouts, try running, walking, or riding your bike.  They’re all great exercises that’ll shape you up for summer!

That’s all there is to it insiders!  Get out there and get fit for summer!  Motivate yourself and don’t give up!
