Hey Insiders,

Black heads are the worst, aren’t they? They are annoying and so hard to get rid of, and pore strips can be pricey. In this post I am going to give you a recipe to make your own pore strips for merely pennies!

What you will need: 1 Tablespoon Unflavored Gelatin, 1 1/2- 2 Tablespoons Milk. That’s it! I’m not even kidding. It is that simple.

Step 1: Mix all of the ingredients together until you have a pretty smooth texture. Add more milk if you do not like the texture.  I recommend warming your mixture up so that when you apply it your pores will open up.

Step 2: Apply the mixture to your problem areas. You can apply it to your whole face if you feel the need. I tend to focus on my nose and chin, but everyone is different. Be sure to apply the mixture quickly, because it will start to firm up and be harder to apply. Just a little warning, the mixture smells a bit funny in the beginning because of the milk, but after a little while you get used to it.

Step 3: Wait. You have to wait until the mixture hardens of your face and makes it nearly impossible to smile or make any facial gesture. It is actually pretty funny to watch someone who has this mask on try and talk or do anything that requires facial movement.

Step 4: Start peelin’! This is the most fun and gross part of the whole experience. Start wherever you want and just pull the mask off. As you pull It off you will start to see little black dots in the strips you remove. Yes, that is dirt coming out of your pores! Just think of all the dirt residing in your pores right now. Kinda makes you want to whip up a batch of this mask, doesn’t it?

After you have peeled off the entire mask, go wash your new baby-soft face. I always feel so refreshed after using this mask, and I know you will too!

5 Best Kept Beauty Secrets

Hey Insiders, Today I am going to fill you in on some of the best kept secrets in the world of beauty. You might be surprised at what you find!…

Hey Insiders,

Today I am going to fill you in on some of the best kept secrets in the world of beauty. You might be surprised at what you find!

1. Do you have dry brittle hair? Here’s a great trick.  Use mayo as a hair mask! It may smell kind of disgusting while you are applying it, but it gives you’re a hair a quick picker upper. The oils and fats in mayo give your hair moisture and a shiny sheen. There is also egg in mayo, which works to strengthen your luscious locks.

2. Don’t pick at a chipped nail. If you cant stand having cracks in your nail polish and cannot get to a salon, check this tip out. Grab something small and sharp (items like toothpicks, or the tip of a pin works) and swipe a tiny bit of nail glue into the crack, let it dry, and then paint over it with a base coat and polish.

3. Get shiny hair in seconds. Douse your hair in ice water. The cold of the water seals your cuticles. This makes your hair look smoother, silkier, and shinier. The one warning I will give you is not to dip your scalp in the water if you are prone to brain freezes. If you can handle cold water, working it into your scalp is actually very beneficial to hair growth. The cold stimulates your hair follicles and promotes hair growth.

4. Use Pam help solidify your manicure. By spraying Pam cooking spray on your freshly painted nails, it is preventing them from smudging or getting divots. Oil helps them dry faster!

 5. Got super oily hair and need a quick fix? Snatch up a packet of plain dry oatmeal. It absorbs oil just as well as powder and dry shampoo, and it’s easy to brush out. It is also super cheap and you can find it around your house!

Are you surprised at what you have found? I know I was.

Would you like to know how to get beautiful, bold eyebrows? Here’s a few secrets to help you out. To start off, make sure your eyebrows are well-shaped. You can get them waxed at a local salon, pluck them yourself, or even purchase stencil packets such as the one from a beauty supply for only a few dollars. After you have your beautifully shaped eyebrows, brush through them with an eyebrow comb.

Next comes the fun part! As shown in one of my videos, “Big and Bold Eyebrows Tutorial!” You can purchase an eyebrow kit off of www.whiteninglightning.com

First, I will show you how to create these eyebrows with the kit, then without in case you cannot get one. Once you’ve purchased this, you’re ready to go! You want to have a sort of slanted, stiff brush for applying the next step. If you purchased the eyebrow kit mentioned above, first prime your eyebrows with the gel on the right end of the palette, which will set the powder in place. Next, using the dark brown color off the left end of the palette, load up your brush! Brush into your arch then fill up any holes or patches. Pretty simple, right?

Without the kit, you can still get those beautiful, bold brows. The best way to do this is to color up a few shades darker than your natural eyebrow color. Using an eyebrow pencil will work, but using eye shadow will give you a more blended, natural look.

Hey Insiders,

Lipstick is a very important part of any look. Getting the right shade and brand is crucial! My favorite brand of lipstick is Yves Saint Laurent.

Jan-17-YSL-1-FB3A0842Reason number 1 is because there are so many choices in color! There are literally hundreds of colors, from light flirty pink, to dark burgundy, to deep red. They even have shades of purple and orange! With all these choices in color, there is no doubt that you can find one that fits both your personality and style perfectly.

The second reason that I love this brand is the quality of their products. I would personally give them five stars. Their colors are opaque and bright. When you apply the lipstick, they melt on your lips like butter! After you apply, the color lasts all day. This means you don’t have to hassle with applying every few hours, and you don’t have to worry about your color fading. The packaging of their products is chic and classy. I feel so fancy using them. And to top that off, there is even a little mirror on the top of the cap so you can look at yourself while applying!

Jan-17-YSL-FB3A0845And finally, last reason I love YSL lipsticks is because they have sunscreen in them! I know that sounds kind of weird, but it is actually a huge benefit. By having SPF 15 in their formula, your lips are protected from harsh UV rays that the sun throws your way. This helps you maintain younger, healthier looking lips!

Try it for yourself, you will fall in lipstick-love just as much as I did!

Chels

Hello Girls!

Wavy hair is my go-to hair.  It’s so effortless and great when you don’t feel like doing your hair.  Unfortunately, some of us are born with pin-straight hair or you have such thick hair it takes hours to curl.  I’ll show you a few easy ways to get beautiful waves without using a curling iron. Chelsea Crockett- braided waves

If you have thick, long hair, sleep in a long French braid at night.  When you wake up in the morning, take the braids out, and run your fingers through your hair.  You’ll have pretty waves in a flash!  If you have thin or short hair, I wouldn’t recommend this.  Your hair will look kinked and your ends won’t lay flat.

For those of you with thin or short hair, twist or braid small sections of your hair and run a straightener over it a few times.  This will create very soft waves.  Make sure to apply a small amount of hair spray so your waves don’t go flat.  If you have curling moose, layer it throughout your hair to keep the curls in place.  My favorite is Marc Anthony Strictly Curls foam or Curl Envy.  Love your hair and love your curls!
