If you have a Valentine’s Day date planned with your honey, then you most likely have a cute outfit all planned out. You know what every cute Valentine’s Day outfit needs? Super cute nails. Keep reading to see a few of my favorite Valentine’s Day nail styles!nails 2

  1. Easy ombre: This look is so fun and unique! It combines all of the Valentine’s colors in one style: red, hot pink, and light pink.
  2. Gorgeous geometric: This style is for my girly gals! It combines soft, romantic pink with sassy glitter for a “reversed french tip” look. I think this one is the most “me.”
  3. Sweet and subtle: If you go for the more understated look, just paint a simple coat of glitter polish over your nails! It will give you a nice subtle sparkle, and is a totally simple way to add a little extra to your V-Day ensemble.

Have a fun Valentine’s Day, my pretties!

There is something so romantic about a winter wedding. Don’t get me wrong, all weddings are romantic, but winter weddings just seem to have a different feel to them. They seem sophistocated and classy. If you have a winter wedding to attend, you want to dress the part of a stylish guest! Here are a few outfit ideas for your next winter wedding.IMG_2559

  1. Sequined pencil skirt: One of the writers of ChelseaCrockett.com attended a wedding this December and wore a sequined pencil skirt. She paired it with a simple white blouse and pointed black felt pumps. It was simple and stylish! The sequins dressed up the outfit while the subtle shirt and shoes made sure to balance it all out.
  2. Tulle midi skirt: I love a good tulle skirt. They are so fun and feminine! For a simple, subtle fashion statement, wear a tulle skirt with a netural colored sweater and heels. Simple and subtle is what every wedding guest should be! All eyes should be on the bride.
  3. A jumpsuit: I love a classy jumpsuit! These are so stylish and trendy, and also really comfortable! Pair a jumpsuit with a blazer and heels for a great winter wedding outfit.

What would YOU wear to a winter wedding?

Olive green is one of those colors that looks good on everyone. It is also one of fall’s favorite hues! Olive green pairs well with many colors, and is a more exciting neutral than tan or brown. Here are my favorite ways to mix and match olive green into my autumn outfits.

  1. Layered with a vest: This is the most subtle way to wear olive green. You can layer an olive vest over a patterned button-up for a classic fall look. You can take it off if you get too warm, which is what happens most of the time where I live. Fall mornings are chilly, but the afternoons get warm. A vest gives your outfit a casual yet preppy feel.
  2. Cozy in a cardigan: I love a long cardigan. My favorite are the ones that are long enough to hit at your knees. They are slimming and make me look taller! Pair a long olive cardigan with a light-colored sweater and brown boots for a neutral, understated yet stylish look.
  3. Time for a turtle neck: In the last few years turtle necks have really made a comeback. Not only do they keep you cozy and warm, they are also stylish! Pair an olive green turtle neck sweater with a black leather jacket and ripped black skinny jeans for an edgy, fun fall look.

Happy fall, y’all!

Plaid: Fall’s favorite pattern. You can wear it many ways, with many layers, and in many color combinations! Sometimes, with all those options, it can get a little overwhelming. To simplify styling plaid this Fall, I’ll give you my 3 favorite ways to wear it.

  1. Layered: One plaid shirt can be worn in so many ways. It can be worn under a sweater, cardigan, vest, army jacket, and so on. You can tone down the pattern by layering it under things, or let it be the centerpiece of the outfit by wearing it by itself.
  2. Accessorized: Plaid scarves are timeless and go with just about anything! You can drape a plaid blanket scarf around your shoulders to keep you warm, and can wear a pair of plaid gloves to add accent to any fall ensemble.
  3. Statement: Make a plaid piece the statement item of your outfit. I love a cute plaid skirt with a simple top and riding boots. The pattern doesn’t overwhelm the outfit and gives it the perfect amount of “pop.”

I am ready to rock some plaid this Fall!

Fall weather is finally here which means cooler temperatures and stylish fall outfits.  Between tailgates and fun fall dinner dates, there are lots of occasions to rock all types of trendy skirts!  Right now, I’m obsessed with these two skirt styles!Chelsea Crockett - Fall Skirt

The first style is a jean skirt with frayed hems.  This style is simple but has a twist to it!  You can pair it with a cute belt, blouse, and booties to create the perfect fall look.  You can also pair it with a long cardigan or a tied sweater.  With denim, really anything goes!

The other skirt is a velvet or corduroy button up the front skirt like the picture on the right. They come in all different fall colors like maroon, green, gold, dark purple, etc. Again, these are stylish to pair with a cute top and booties and is the perfect look for a football game day! You can dress them up by adding a jacket or a scarf, too.

Which style do you like better?  Let me know in the comment section below which skirt style you like to rock during the fall!

Athleisure is a trend that I am loving. Athleisure is casual clothing like yoga pants, sweat pants, and pullovers that are designed to be worn for both exercising and style. So, they are athletic clothes that are both trendy and functional, meaning you can wear them to the gym and then to the grocery store and look stylin’ while doing both. This trend is both comfy and cute, so I am ready to hop on board. This sounds like great “college wear.” Here are 3 athleisure looks to try this fall and winter.

  1. Super casual: In this style we see workout leggings paired with a loose tank top layered under a simple pullover. The outfit is finished off with some slip-on sneakers. I like this look because it is effortless and really casual, but it is also comfy and can be worn out and about.
  2. Cute and comfy: This next look pairs workout leggings with some Hunter boots, and white long-sleeve tee layered under a cute thermal pullover and puffy vest. This style is really preppy and cute while also being comfy and practical. It is great for days that start out cold but warm up as the day goes on because you can shed layers.
  3. Trendy and effortless: This next look is the most complex, but is also my personal favorite. This look pairs some workout leggings with awesome textured patches on the knees, a white long-sleeve tee, and a green army jacket with an infinity scarf to top it off. The tennis shoes keep the outfit athletic while the army jacket takes it to a more “street-worthy” state.

I love outfits that I can wear straight from the gym to run errands, or just to be comfy while I’m out and about! Athletic clothes can be dressed up in so many ways to make them more “outfit” ready. Who says comfy can’t also be cute?

During the colder months, you’ll most likely find me wearing leggings every day of the week.  They’re so comfortable and can be dressed up or dressed down for almost any occasion.  Although they’re more known for lounging around in, you can pair them with different articles of clothing to dress up your outfits and be just as comfy! 🙂

  • Oversized Sweater and Boots.  Chelsea Crockett - Leggings and a SweaterI’m sure you could already guess that oversized sweaters are going to be back in full swing this fall!  Rock a simple pair of black leggings and a pair of your favorite boots with a big sweater.  This is one of the comfiest outfits ever and it still looks like you put yourself together!
  • Graphic Tee and Sneakers.  I’m a huge fan of the street style look, and this outfit represents it perfectly.  Old rock tees or athletic brand tees with a pair of leggings and Adidas sneakers can still be dressed up or down depending on the occasion!  It’s such a cute and edgy look.
  • Long Poncho.  There was a time when ponchos went out of style, but now they’re back in action, especially with the cold months quickly approaching!  These can definitely be dressed up with a pair of heeled booties and the right accessories.  How cute is that?

Which style are you going to try out?  They’re all so comfy yet fashionable! 🙂

Who says you cannot wear white after Labor Day? I petition that we throw that rule out the door! Why put those perfectly good white jeans

away for the fall/winter when you could rock them all year long? Here are my favorite ways to wear white jeans in the fall.

  1. With a neutral sweater: If you are looking for a casual outfit to wear to school, pair your white skinnies with a neutral colored oversized sweater. I actually love a ripped pair of white skinnies with this outfit. Pair with some ankle booties for a cozy, casual cold weather look.
  2. With a jean jacket: A dark jean jacket adds so much dimension to a simple outfit. Pair white jeans, a simple gray shirt, and a denim jacket for a simple, sweet fall look. Toss in some suede booties to complete the ensemble!
  3. With gingham: Gingam was huge this summer, and it will totally carry into the cooler weather seasons. It is so classy and cute and vintange and just all around adorable! Tuck a gingham button up into your white jeans, or just tuck in the front and let the rest of the shirt hang loose, and layer in a thin tan belt. I would wear some white Keds sneakers with this duo for a classic, timeless combo.

People will forget the phrase “don’t wear white past Labor Day” when they see how cute you look in your fall white jeans ensembles!

I know for a fact that jeans will never go out of style.  They’re timeless and can be worn for almost any occasion.  The best part about jeans is that you can match them with pretty much anything!  There are three trendy jean styles that are making their way into the fashion world this fall that you should try rocking yourself!

  • Tasseled Ends.  Chelsea Crockett - Embroidered JeansI saw a pair of these when I was out shopping and I fell in love!  They usually cut off at the capri length and finish off with tasseled threads.  They’re so cute and perfect for a casual day out with friends!
  • Mom Jeans.  The 90s are back in action ladies!  Mom jeans are usually high waisted and can be rolled at the bottom to complete the look.  You can pair these with a retro top to really rock the 90s style!
  • Slit Hems.  If you want a pair of simple jeans that have a little twist to them, buy a pair of these!  They look like normal jeans until about halfway down your calf where the hems on the side split.  They’re super cute and allow you to switch it up!  (Look at the above picture for example!)
  • Embroidered Denim.  I love embroidered shirts and pants.  They’re both vintage and fashionable.  You can find jeans with embroidered flowers and other designs at certain boutiques or online!

Which look is your favorite?  Let me know below!  I think mine are the tasseled ends, how fun are those?!

I always love when I find a piece of clothing that I can style in different ways with different outfits.  A simple, thin-strapped dress can go a long way when it comes to getting the most out of your purchase!  Here are different ways you can layer your dress for three different styles!

  • Over a simple tee.  Chelsea Crockett - DressLike the picture on the left, you can create the perfect street style look by pairing a simple tee with your simple dress.  Sometimes simplicity creates the most stylish looks!  Try mixing and matching with different colors, patterns, and accessories.
  • Under an oversized sweater.  Take your favorite oversized sweater and throw it on over your dress.  If it’s too long, try tying a knot at the front of your sweater to show off more of your dress.  This look is super comfy and perfect for the upcoming fall weather!
  • Under a jean/bomber jacket.  This look too is great for chilly weather!  You can pair your dress with a retro jean jacket or a floral bomber jacket, or even a leather jacket if you’re feeling extra edgy!  This is the perfect way to dress up your look.  Compliment your outfit with some wedges and a stylish purse!

Which style do you rock most often?  I think all of them are so cute! 🙂

Thrifting is the perfect pastime.  It’s cheap, fun, and can bring out your creative side if you let it!  Many of your favorite looks can be recreated if you simply go to a thrift store with an open mind and a little creativity!  Here are 5 steps to master the art of thrifting. 🙂

  1. Be openminded. Chelsea Crockett - DIY High Waisted Shorts You will come across many interesting outfits, shirts, shoes, etc. (to say the least).  Maybe try on a few things that you think you’d never ever wear.  It may turn out to be your new favorite shirt!
  2. Be creative.  Think about how you can take one piece of clothing and turn it into a completely new creation.  There are so many DIY looks that you can create right in your room!  (If you don’t have a creative bone in your body, Pinterest is the perfect place to find some inspiration!)
  3. Think retro.  One of my favorite looks is DIY high waisted shorts.  Take a fun pair of mom jeans and cut them to the perfect length.  Roll the ends to create the perfect 70’s look like the picture on the right!  My friends and I have all done this and they’re so comfy!
  4. Go with friends.  Everything is more fun when you’re with your girls right?  Grab some of your friends and make a day out of it.  A second opinion always helps when shopping!
  5. Don’t go with a game plan.  If you go with a specific piece of clothing in mind, you might pass by tons of other things that may end up creating the perfect look!

What’s your go-to shop to go thrifting at?  Let me know below!

To me, the colors blue and white spell out classic summer style. They are crisp, clean, and fresh. Everything summer fashion should be!

  1. Sweet sundress: I love a sweet summer sundress. Especially a blue and white one! They are classy and cute. They also help keep you cool and breezy. This dress is a great piece to wear on a date.
  2. Fun romper: Rompers are great summer pieces because you don’t have to try and match shorts to a shirt! It is all one piece! I love this blue and white one because it reminds me of something you would wear for a day on the coast.
  3. Cute shorts: Blue and white striped shorts are a fun nautical summer accessory. Pair with a white shirt for a crisp, classy summer look.

This summer I want to go a little bit out of my box when it comes to style. I want to explore my personal style and then branch out and try new things and see if I like them. My first new style try is shorts overalls. Here are 3 things I love about this trend.

  1. Its easy: Literally all you need for this outfit is the overalls and a shirt and shoes to go with it. It is an easy running errands outfit or going to a casual summer breakfast with friends or heading to the zoo for the day.
  2. Its adorable: I think this style is stinkin adorable. It gives you a girlish flare and pulls on your inner kid.
  3. Its versatile: You can wear these with a short sleeved shirt, a crop top, a slouchy sweater, you can layer a shirt under and a sweater over, you can wear them with a tank top, over a swim suit, so many options!!

Bandanas are making a comeback this spring and summer, and I couldn’t be more excited. There are so many timeless ways to wear bandanas, from in your hair, to around your neck, to accessorizing your handbag! Bandanas are super cheap and are sold everywhere from fancy clothing boutiques to your neighborhood Walmart, making this trend affordable AND adorable. Here are a few of my favorite looks sporting bandanas this spring and summer.

  1. In the hair: Wearing your hair up in a ponytail or a bun can get old, so why not spice it up with a bandana? It will give you a fun, western vibe and will keep your hair out of your face and off your neck on warm summer days.
  2. Around your neck: Chokers are making a comeback, and bandanas are a great way to ease yourself into the trend. They are a classic fashion statement that has been worn throughout the years. Your mom probably wore them around her neck when she was your age! They give any outfit a dash of color and a pop of style.
  3. On your handbag: Tying a simple bandana around the handle of your handbag takes it up a notch. If you carry a simple handbag and are wearing a more muted outfit, knotting a colored bandana around the handle gives your outfit some character AND a pop of color!

These simple ways to incorporate bandanas into your summer wardrobe. What are your favorite ways to wear bandanas?

Spring showers don’t just bring May flowers, they bring, well, rain! I use every rainy day as an excuse to try out my rainy day outfits. Rain coats are no longer just a way to stay dry, they are also a fashion statement! Here are 3 of my favorite rain coat styles.

  1. Feminine: This coat is so cute – it has a fun feminine flare with the flowy back and blush color.
  2. Colorful: I love statement rain coats like this one. The color is so adorable, and it is a classic fashion statement. Very East Coast! This coat takes a simple outfit to the next level.
  3. Iridescent: This coat is the most fun rain coat! It’s iridescent coloring is so unique and is a cool way to rock your own personal style.

Rainy days don’t stand a chance against these adorable jackets!

Navy and white are two of my favorite summer colors. Worn in stripes, they’re even cuter! Here are a few of my favorite navy striped pieces for the summertime. If you are looking for classic, nautical style inspiration, look no further.

  1. Blouses: Striped shirts never go out of style. This summer, wear them tucked into jean shorts for a casual retro look. I love the red and blue stripe combo on this shirt, very patriotic and very classic! This is a great casual, everyday outfit.
  2. Shorts: Striped shorts are making a comeback this season! The pair below are from my favorite boutique, MOD. They make me feel like I am about to hop on a sailboat and take off. Very cute and classy. This is a great outfit for going out with the gals for brunch or even a day of shopping!
  3. Dresses: There is something about a striped dress that just draws me to it. I love them! I love wearing dresses in the summertime to stay cool and comfy. The southern flare of this dress is too cute, with the bell sleeves and cinched waist. This is a great date night ensemble.

What is your favorite way to wear stripes during the summer months?
