This article may have caught your attention for many different reasons.  Maybe you’re curious about what BB Cream is?  Or maybe you want to know which product I prefer?  Well first off, BB Cream is an all-in-one facial product used in place of moisturizer, foundation, primer, serum, and sunblock.  You can apply this as your regular foundation or as a tinted moisturizer, depending on the desired amount you want to apply. Chelsea Crockett - Garnier BB Cream

Recently, I’ve been trying out BB Cream and I LOVE it!  It blends perfectly with my skin and distributes evenly on my entire face.  It’s really light so I don’t have to worry about the feeling of it being caked on after I apply.  Of course, I’ll always love foundation and continue to use it; however, BB Cream is definitely going to be used more often!  My favorite BB Cream is by Garnier.  It not only makes your skin look flawless, but it also hydrates your skin with minerals and vitamins.  Don’t get me wrong, I love foundation, but BB Cream’s nice to switch it up every once and a while!

How to Reduce Bloating

Bloating is a common problem we all face and no matter what we do, it will never fully go away.  Along with over-eating and the struggle with periods, bloating unwantedly…

Bloating is a common problem we all face and no matter what we do, it will never fully go away.  Along with over-eating and the struggle with periods, bloating unwantedly shows up and produces cramps.  For those of you that do not know, bloating is any general abnormal swelling of the abdominal area.  Although it produces pains that may not completely disappear, there are a few tips to help and reduce bloating.

Tip #1: Water, water, water!  Drinking lots of water is the first step to reduce bloating.  Chelsea Crockett - No Soda SignAvoid beverages such as soda or sparkling drinks.  These contain a large amount of carbonation which causes your stomach to grow bigger.

Tip #2: Limit the amount of fiber you put in your body.  Fibrous foods are harder to digest than regular food; therefore, they stay in your gut for a longer amount of time causing you to bloat.

Chelsea Crockett - BananasTip #3: Eat lots of potassium!  Potassium-rich foods such as bananas, mushrooms, spinach, tomatoes, and fish are good for over-bloated tummies.  Although it’s not a main source of potassium, yogurt also helps with digestion.

Tip #4: Watch the amount of food you eat and how fast you eat it!  Of course eating a smaller plate of food will reduce bloating, but did you know the speed of eating does, too?  Eating your food at a slower pace helps your stomach digest things easier; thus, reducing bloating!

Do any of you lovely ladies have a sweet ride? I just got my drivers permit and am so excited to get a car, just so I can accessorize it! That is half the fun of having a car! There are so many ways that you can “pimp out your ride”.

1. Seat covers! This one is kind of a “duh” but I thought it needed to be said! Seat covers not only protect the upholstery of your vehicle, but they also add some sass to it! One of my friends has zebra print seat covers with hot pink accents. You can see them from a mile away!

2. License plate frame! I have seen some pretty crazy license plate frames around town! There are bedazzled ones, ones that say things like “#1 MOM!” some that have animal print, the options are endless! 3. Rear view mirror ornaments! Now I’m not saying that a set of fuzzy dice is for everyone, but there are plenty of other options to try! One of my friends keeps it simple by hanging a cross necklace from her rear view mirror just to remind her of her faith and show people what she believes. Just make sure that whatever is hanging from your mirror doesn’t distract you too much!

Cookie dough is quite possibly the best midnight snack in the universe. Want to know how to make a mouthwatering midnight snack for one? Here is how to make your very own serving of cookie dough!

1. ½ cup packed brown sugar

2. 2 TBSP softened butterweb-vegan-cookie-dough-standing-spoon

3. 1/8 tsp vanilla

4. 1 ½ TBSP milk

5. 1/3 cup flour

6. Pinch of salt

7. Any toppings you want, such as chocolate chips or M&Ms!

Instructions:

Combine the softened butter and brown sugar with a mixer on low for a little under a minute. Gently stir in the vanilla, milk, flour and salt with a spoon. Combine the mixture with the mixer on low for about 30 seconds. Pour in any of your toppings and mix them!

I like my cookie dough chilled, so you can put it in your fridge for a bit before you scarf it down! Enjoy!

Who doesn’t love soft lips?  I know I do!  Soft, smooth lips make wearing lipstick look better and give your face an all-around better look.  I mean, cracked lips aren’t exactly attractive?!  Many lip balms and other lip products moisturize your lips for a short period of time, but do not remove the dead skin.  This dead skin is what gives your look that cracked appearance…gross.  I will show you how to make a once a week DIY lips scrub with 3 simple ingredients.  It’s SO simple!

Chelsea Crockett- DIY Lip Scrub LipsAll you need for the lip scrub is sugar, 1 tsp. of honey, and ½ tsp. of olive oil.  Mix the olive oil and honey together in a small bowl and then add as much sugar as you please.  Go for a good consistency.  You don’t want to cover up the honey and olive oil with too much sugar.  I like to use about 2 tbsp.  Once all the ingredients are mixed up, apply a small amount to your lips, and rub them together for about a minute.  Remove the mixture with a wet paper towel and there you have it! Soft, luscious lips!

You may have read that title and thought “Wait, healthy and cookie in the same sentence?!”  REWIND!  Yes, there actually is a way to munch on a healthy cookie; and the best part, you can design it yourself!  Check out all the yummy ingredients you needs to make a delicious and healthy dessert.Chelsea Crockett- apple cookies

  • Apples
  • Nutella
  • Peanut Butter
  • OPTIONAL: crushed nuts (almonds, peanuts, walnuts, etc.), mini chocolate chips, oats, candy pieces, shredded coconut

Begin by removing the core and slicing the apples horizontally so that the apple pieces look like rings!  Now comes the fun part.  Start by putting peanut butter, Nutella, or both all over your apple ring.  Then place as many toppings on as your heart desires and dig in!  They’re as simple as that!

These apple cookies are perfect for a mid-day snack, after dinner dessert, or to set out at a dinner party or sleepover and let your guests create their own!  The possibilities are endless, so dive in and start creating your apple cookies!

Three braids. That is all that makes up this fun, unique hair style. It has a sort of edgy, hippy feel to it that I really like. I also love that it brings a new way to pull off the “half up half down” hair style.  What do you think? Do you like this new take on the average braid?

Achieving this look is very simple. First, take a small section of hair at the front of your face and braid it. Do the same d18c6a9086941995dc79060811dea19bto the other side of your head. You should now have two small braids on either side of your face. Pull them to the back of your head and secure them together with a clear elastic. Next, grab a section of hair right below the braid that you have already pulled back. Braid this section, and then do the same to the other side of your hair. Add these braids to the tail of the other braids (as seen in the photo). Repeat this step to the hair just below the braids that you just made. The key to this updoo is that you have three braids on either side of your head, all in a row, pulled back and meeting at the back of your head, as you can see in the picture.

Matte polish is so chic. Add matte top coat to any color and it instantly becomes 10x edgier. There are some really cool, really unique ways to wear matte polish! Want to rock this trend and show your edgier side? Stick around!

Matte French Manicure: This is a totally new spin on the traditional French Manicure. I love this look with black 2f22f3f6c29b4a30b5432b4912e411f4polish, but you can really do it with any polish of your choice. Just paint your nails whatever shade you prefer (I am going to use black for my example) and let the polish dry for a good long time. Once the polish is thoroughly dry, place a small piece of masking tape over the tip of your nail to cover it up. Then, paint matte polish over the rest of the nail. The covered portion will remain shiny while the rest will be matte, which creates the “French Manicure” look.

The “Accent” Nail: Paint all of your nails but one. Leave one nail as an “accent” nail. Paint all of your fingers but the accent nail in one shade, and then paint the matte polish over them. Paint your accent nail in a different color or paint it in glitter polish, and then cover it with regular shiny top coat. This look is unique and totally adorable! Great for making a statement.

Diagonal Polish: Paint all your nails in the color of your choice and let them dry thoroughly. After they are totally dry, cover each nail diagonally with a piece of tape. This process is similar to the matte French tip, but the style of nail is different. Once your tape is diagonally placed over half the nail, paint the other half matte. This is another edgy, unique way to rock matte nails!

Never knew there could be so many great ways to wear matte nails, didja?!

I know most of us have started to experience that “Time of the Month”.  None of us like it, but it’s just something we all have to deal with.  On the positive side, companies have developed different varieties of great protection so you can be carefree with absolutely no worries!

Stop Pesky Food Cravings!

Sometimes it’s easy to sit on the couch and eat an entire bag of potato chips; or what about that time you were craving sweets so you ate a whole roll of Oreos?  Our body craves what it can’t have.  Unfortunately, most of us take the simple route and give our body what it wants.  Usually this is the brain wanting that food, not the stomach.  So why does the body crave foods?  This is usually due to a lack of a certain vitamin, salt, or sugar.  Instead of grabbing that bag of cookies, check out this list of foods to satisfy your craving without being unhealthy.Chelsea Crockett- food pyramid

  • Chocolate:  Your body is lacking magnesium.  Instead, try nuts/seeds, veggies, or fruit.
  • Sugary Foods:  Your body may need carbon, sulphur, or phosphorus.  Try eating a food high in protein and/or vitamin D, like chicken or a cheese stick.  If you really need to satisfy that sweet tooth, aim for raisins or cranberries.  They have just the right amount of sweetness to kick that craving.
  • Carbs (Pasta, Bread): Your body needs nitrogen!  Go for any high protein food.  This includes any type of meat, beans, or nuts.
  • Oily Foods:  Start drinking your calcium!  Try drinking a glass of milk or enjoying a yogurt or cheese stick.
  • Salty Foods: Your body is lacking chloride and/or silicon.  For this craving, try fish or a handful or nuts.  Go for protein!

Next time you have a severe craving, remember these simple changes.  It takes 21 days to break a habit, so next time you go for that cookie, try dried fruit or a cheese stick.  Soon enough, those regular cravings will be cravings of the past!

Are you a morning person? If you are, I envy you. Most girls are running around in the morning like crazy people trying to get out the door because they slept past their alarms! If you are one of these ladies who is always running late, here is a quick, fabulous hair do for you to try.

 

The Messy Pony!

Ladies, everyone can rock the classic messy pony. Sometimes, a regular ponytail is just too basic and boring. Spruce it up! Here are the steps to getting that chic, super-fast updo.

1. Take the sections of hair that are at your temples and pull up the section like you were going to do the “half-up half-down” hair style. Spray this section with dry shampoo to absorb all of the access oils! Now that you have the top section of your hair, take the back part of the section and start teasing from the back to the front. Before you tease the small section, spray some hairspray at the root of the hair because this will help the hair to stay teased!

2. As you get closer to the front of your hair, tease the hair less so you don’t see as much of a rats nest. Leave out the front section of hair so that you can use it to cover the teased portion. Mist your hair with hairspray because this will give your hair texture!

3. Take the sections of hair behind your ears and bring them to the front. Now that you have both the top section of your hair and the sections behind your ears all pushed towards the front of your head, take the back section of hair that is left and create your first ponytail. Make it close to the middle of your head, not too high and not too low!

4. Flip the front and side sections back and pin your tease down with bobby pins however you want. If you want a high tease, make it happen! If you want less tease, that is totally fine too! Just pin your hair closer to your head if you don’t want as much tease. Pull your remaining hair back and add it to your first ponytail! If you want to add a little accent to the pony, you can add in your favorite headband.

 

Easy, right? Now go rock those messy ponies!

If you haven’t yet checked out L’Oreal’s website, I highly suggest you doWink.  The coolest thing about their site is that they have an interactive section called “My Beauty Products” where you can find the perfect products that fit you.  By clicking the “My Colors” tab, they recommend what products will look best with your hair color, eye color, skin tone, and skin undertone. They also suggest different videos and articles for you to see the different looks that will bring out the best of your features.

Another tab called “My Styles” gives you the option to choose between many looks such as girly, natural, edgy, etc.  After you have picked your preferred styles, it will show you many different ways to pull off your favorite looks.  Say you choose “edgy.”  It will show you a bold collection for making your eyes pop and cute nail designs to add a little more along with your makeup.

“My Beauty Products” is only one plus to their website.  There are many other helpful hints and ways to brighten up your makeup!  So start exploring!

It can be used for just about everything under the sun. Sounds kind of weird, right? Using vinegar to be healthier? Could it be?? It sure can! Here is how:

  1. Drink it! Now I’m not saying fill up a cup with apple cider vinegar and go to town on it, that would be totally flytrap-vinegar1“ewwww”. Just mix a really small amount into a cup of water and sip on it throughout your day. Apple cider vinegar actually helps with weight loss and can help detox your liver and reduce heartburn! It may be a little odd tasting at first, but it grows on you!
  2. Tone your face! You can actually use this vinegar as a toner. Mix one part apple cider vinegar with 2 parts water. It can help tighten and tone skin as well as reduce acne.
  3. Treat your hair! After you shampoo your hair, pour a cup of cold water with 1 tablespoon apple cider vinegar mixed in over your hair. This removes any product buildup on your hair and makes your hair super shiny. I’ve tried this and it really works!

Try adding apple cider vinegar into your beauty regimen for an all-natural remedy!

It is a much healthier source of energy than coffee. What I didn’t know, though, was that green tea has SO many other great health benefits! It has been called “the healthiest drink on the planet”.
