Faith in Your Choices

And whatever you ask for in prayer, you will receive if you have faith.” –Matthew 21:22

When it comes to making decisions, it can be one of the hardest things to go through. We falter in our confidence and go back and forth between our choices. We oftentimes forget that we have a Father who loves us and ultimately wants the best for us, who is waiting for us to run to Him for guidance and security.

There are many different sources we can run to when we’re seeking direction. There’s our parents or families, who can give us their best advice based on their past and what they know is best for us. There’s our friends, who know us so well and can help us to the best of their ability.

But sometimes we have choices to make that can’t be decided even with the help from our closest friends and family. These choices can wear us down, and even after we make our decision, we still question if we made the right choice. It can drive us crazy if we let it, but in the end, God always has our back.

Joshua 1:9 says, “Have I not commanded you? Be strong and courageous. Do not be afraid; do not be discouraged, for the Lord your God will be with you wherever you go.”

Whether you think you’ve made the right decision or not, God will and always has been with you. He commands us to be strong and courageous, whether this be in our times of trial or in times of triumph. He needs our faith to be unwavering, confident in his guidance and where his path is taking us. Not just in our times of security, but in our times of confusion, doubt, and weakness.

Romans 4:20 says, “He did not waver in unbelief at God’s promise but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God.”

In this verse, the apostle Paul is talking about a man named Abraham, who was at that time experiencing a trial beyond compare being the old age that he was. He didn’t question what God was doing or become filled with frustration and confusion. Instead, this presented Abraham with an opportunity to strengthen his faith in God and experience the true fulfilling of God’s promises!

We all can learn a little bit from the story of Abraham. His faith is not to go unnoticed, and we should strive to have the confidence in the Lord like he had!

When we come to a crossroad, don’t forget about the God we serve. Why stress about making decisions when the Lord already knows what the future holds? I urge you to practice two things when it comes to decision making: prayer and faith.

Pray about even the smallest of decisions you’re struggling to make! There is nothing too small to present to God. Pray for faith, pray for guidance, and pray for confidence. These three things will give you a new outlook on difficult choices that you come across. Depend on him, and watch your life become a whole lot better!

How to Get Rid of Toxic People

Toxic people are often hard to get away from.  Whether its due to relationships, being in the same friend group, or simply dating the wrong person, having toxic people in your life can be both draining and exhausting.  Most of us leave these people in our lives because we simply don’t know how to get away from them.  Here’s how you can separate yourself from these people in a kind and mature way!

  • Distance yourself.  Although this doesn’t always work for every situation, it does work for some.  Slowly backing away from the situation really can work.  It’s a good way to get some air and realize what you really want, whether it be in a relationship or with a close friend.
  • Pray for strength.  Prayer is powerful and I’m a strong believer that God provides when you ask him for something.  Sometimes we just need the strength to cut ties with someone and know that it really is for the best.
  • Surround yourself with people who build you up.  Surrounding yourself with good people while trying to distance yourself from the opposite is one of the best distractions.  It shows you the people you deserve to have in your life!  Know your worth!
  • Be bold and determined.  I know it’s easier said than done, but having the courage to know what you deserve in your life is something we should all believe about ourselves.  Changing your mindset to having the boldness to get rid of toxic people in your life is one of the most freeing feelings ever!

I hope you have enough courage to break away from the people bringing you down in your life! 🙂

Love, Chels
