I don’t know about you, but I constantly hear about the benefits of drinking lots of water.  I was always skeptical if it had as many beauty benefits as all the supermodels and celebrities say it has.  After I did some research, I found out it really is all it’s cracked up to be!  Here are some water beauty benefits that truly are beneficial and some that are simply myths!

Chelsea Crockett - Water BenefitsYou always hear people with perfect skin say, “I started drinking a ton of water and my skin cleared up so quickly.”  Although water helps with the process of eliminating acne, it isn’t the only success factor.  When most people say this, they usually do things like cut out soda, eat healthier, etc.  So although drinking your daily amount of water helps, lifestyle changes are usually put into practice, as well.

That being said, it also has it’s skin benefits.  If you have dry skin, drinking more water will give your skin the moisture it needs.  Water is also known for flushing out toxics and bacteria in your body.  So, it will also help get rid of that nasty bacteria in your pores, too!  It not as much helps with the appearance of your skin, but with the health of it.  It’ll help pump up your skin and revitalize your pores!

So, now you know!  Everywhere you go, take a bottle of water with you. You’ll see the magic happen right before your eyes!

Dieting can be a tricky subject.  Some people aren’t sure how to do it quite right which can result in actually gaining weight or hurting your body.  There are certain myths that revolve around the topic of dieting and I wanted to clear up a few of them!  This way, you can get the most out of your dieting! 🙂

  • You should skip meals to lose weight faster.  DO NOT do this!  Skipping meals and eating less is not the way to diet.  There are certain diet plans that will sometimes have you eating more rather than less!
  • It’s not good to eat after 8 or 9 PM.  WRONG!  Whether it’s 3 pm or 3 am, your body will still metabolizing the calories you eat regardless.  Instead of not eating after 8, try to cut out that unhealthy midnight snack!
  • You have to go on a diet to lose weight.  This isn’t always true!  Simply eating healthy can still do the job just as well.  That being said, if you want to diet, find one that works for you!
  • You don’t have to exercise as long as you’re on a diet.  WRONG!  As I mentioned before, these two go hand-in-hand.  Of course, you can lose some weight if you’re solely dieting, but the best results happen when you’re both exercising and eating healthy!
  • As long as the label says low-fat, then you’re good to go.  WRONG!  Just because it’s low-fat doesn’t mean there aren’t other things you should be worrying about.  Labels can trick you so be careful!

Did you think these were true, as well?  I know I did before I actually looked into them!

Good luck! – Chels

            Hey insiders!

There are many beauty guidelines that we all follow during the winter.  If a fashion magazine says something’s good for your skin, we automatically believe it, right? Have you ever wondered whether they’re actually benefitting us?  Here are a few winter beauty myths everyone should know!

  • Applying lip balm over and over again is good for your lips.  FALSE!  Continuously applying your chap stick can actually harm your lips instead of help them.  They contain an ingredient that tricks you into thinking you need more and more of it, whichChelsea Crockett - Neutrogena Moisturizer is also false.  Try out a lip serum or cream that repairs your chapped, wintery lips.
  • There’s no need for sunscreen during the winter.  FALSE!  Just because the temperature’s lower doesn’t mean your skin’s not soaking up the sun’s rays.  If you can, try using moisturizer with SPF.  Neutrogena carries an oil-free moisturizer with 15 SPF which is just enough to keep you protected.  The sun will hit you just as hard as it will in the summer.  Don’t underestimate the sun!
  • Staying indoors as much as possible during the winter will help your skin.  FALSE!  You need fresh air as much as possible.  Yes, too much cold air can dry out your skin, but over-heated indoors can as well.  Putting a humidifier in your room can add a little moisture to the air and help hydrate your skin.
