All of us girls can agree on one thing: breakups are the worst.  No one enjoys breaking it off with someone or especially being broken up with!  Although they’re never fun, there are some breakups that are better than others.  Here are 5 different types of breakups that most of us have experienced at least once!

  1. The friendly breakup.  Aren’t these the best?  You know and agree that you both aren’t right for each other so you end on a civil note.  You can still have friendly conversations without it being awkward or hostile!
  2. The heartbreaking breakup.  These breakups are the ones you never ever want to experience.  They’re the breakups that leave you with sleepless nights and lots of heartache.  If you’ve experienced this before, just know you’re not alone!
  3. The angry breakup.  Having built up grudges and anger especially at the end of a breakup makes parting ways 10x harder.  I know for me, I hate when people are mad at me or when a situation leaves me boiling up inside!
  4. The one-sided breakup.  Depending on what side you’re on, you can either leave feeling relieved or extremely heartbroken.  It’s the worst when you’re more invested in someone than they are in you.
  5. The end result breakup.  This is the breakup that you both expected no matter how much you wanted to deny it.  I think we’ve all experienced this at some point in our dating life.  You didn’t want to admit it, but you knew breaking up would be the end result!

Which breakup do you think is the worst?  One day we’ll have a relationship that won’t ever have to end in a breakup!

First dates can be extremely nerve-racking, but they can also be a great time to really get to know the each other!  First dates usually mean first impressions, so there are many things to consider before, and during, your date.  If you’re new to the dating world, or could still use as much help as you can get, here are a few things to keep in mind!

  • Your outfit.  Chelsea Crockett - First DateUnfortunately, most of the time first impressions are based a lot on appearance.  I suggest wearing something that will reflect who you are.  If you’re bubbly and like to rock bright colors, go for it!
  • Where to go.  If he didn’t already decide where you guys are going, suggest somewhere that will make you most comfortable!  If you’re nervous about too much small talk over dinner, see a movie instead.  Or if you’d rather do something a little less formal than dinner, go mini golfing or hiking!
  • How he treats you.  Notice how he treats you especially since it’s your first time on an actual date with each other.  Pay attention to his manners such as if he’s on his phone a lot or if he’s only talking about himself!
  • Red flags.  These are so important!  Notice if he says or does something that you would automatically consider a red flag.
  • Keeping an open mind.  Doing this allows you to be open to something you might not be expecting.  Maybe you thought you had the person figured out but he could be much better than you’re expecting!

I hope your first date is everything you’re hoping for and more!

How to Deal with Period Breakouts

I think us girls can all agree on one thing: periods are the worst!  They’re the most dreaded time of the month that we can’t do anything to stop.  Not only do periods come with mood swings, cramps, and a lot of other dreaded symptoms, but acne and pimples start to pop up all around our face, too!  Period breakouts are tough to battle, but here are some tips that can help!

The days before:  It’s all about prevention.  Chelsea Crockett - Clay MaskWhen your period is near, there’s not much you can do besides trying to stop the breakouts from coming!  First comes first, avoid clogging your pores at all cost.  Make sure you take off your makeup before going to sleep and avoid touching your face a lot.  If you feel a pimple building up under your skin, try out a clay face mask to get rid of it for you!

During:  Cleanse, cleanse, cleanse!  Keeping your face clean from oils and dirt will aid in preventing hormonal breakouts.  So, make sure you’re thoroughly washing your face in the morning and at night and getting rid of any makeup or oil!

The days after:  After your period has finally come to an end, your skin should hopefully go back to its original state.  The toughest part of your battle is over!  The only thing I suggest is sticking to a daily skin routine to prevent random breakouts and to keep your skin under control.

I hope these help you have clearer skin during your time of the month!

In today’s society, it can be hard to know your worth. There are too many guidelines and standards on what social norms a teenage girl should be living by. Growing up, there were many things that I wish I could’ve told myself that I’m still telling myself now. I put together some encouraging thoughts that may be helpful if you’re struggling in your life or in your daily walk of faith.

  • You are loved, whether you have a boyfriend or not, or whether you have a million friends or not.Chelsea Crockett - Bible Verse
  • You do not need a boyfriend to know your worth. Of course, all girls love for their crush to compliment them and to tell them how pretty they are. But just because you don’t have a boyfriend assuring you doesn’t mean you should think bad about yourself. God loves you and all your flaws!
  • You are not defined by your grades, your GPA, or your social life. There is so much emphasis on ACT scores, getting into a good college, etc. God loves you whether you’re at the top or bottom of your class.
  • Never feel like you need to fit in by dressing a certain way or going outside of your comfort zone.
  • Don’t dwell on the past. Your mistakes do not define you but only shape you into who you are today.

Hopefully this gives you a little encouragement to help you as you grow into the amazing person God made you to become!

A Christ-based relationship is the only option for me in the present and future, as I grow and mature. Having faith not only as a person but as a couple as well is very important. There are certain things in a Christian relationship that should become and remain a habit to keep your relationship healthy in Christ!

  1. Pray together. I cannot stress this enough. Learning to open up your hearts and talk to God together is a huge step in your relationship. You’ll also discover some things your boyfriend may be struggling with, and you can pray for those things as well on your own time!Chelsea Crockett - Christian Relationship
  2. Read the Bible and devotionals together. Every night, pick a few scriptures to talk about and discuss. It’s nice to hear what someone else has to say about a certain passage or verse.
  3. Go to church. Going to church is crucial in your walk of faith. Knowing you have someone to encourage you and join you each Sunday is an awesome feeling.
  4. Volunteer or take mission trips. This will not only change the lives of others, but will give you and your boyfriend tons of great memories together.
  5. Surround yourselves with other Christian couples. Surrounding yourself with good people is key to staying true to yourself, whether you’re in a relationship or not!

Follow these steps and your relationship will not only grow together but in Christ too!
