Without Rain, Nothing Grows.

“Consider it all joy, my brethren, when you encounter various trials, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. And let endurance have its perfect result, so that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing.” – James 1:2-4

Have you ever heard the phrase “Without rain, nothing grows. Learn to embrace the storms in life.”? I don’t know about you, but when I am experiencing one of life’s storms, one of the last things I want to hear is “embrace it.” But, truthfully, that is what I should be doing. Why? Because the Bible clearly tells us that we will go through trials and suffer in this life. Every one of us. We have the choice to either be joyous or miserable during those times. I think I’ll take joy, please.

Trials will meet us at every stage of life, but they don’t last forever. God did not promise that this life will be easy, but He did promise to use the storms for good. He also promises to be our strength and our shield as we board up our windows and fight the monsoon. Just as Psalm 28:7 says, “The Lord is my strength and my shield; my heart trusts in Him, and I am helped; therefore, my heart exults, and with my song I shall thank Him.”

Your storm is not the end of the world. When you learn to accept the life that God has given you, your whole outlook transforms. Your life is unique, and it is beautiful. Having strength through the storms comes from accepting the life God has handed you and rooting your Faith in His plan. His plan for your life is better than the plan you have dreamed of. Once you accept that, you will find strength in it.

There will be days when you think that there is no way you can get up and face another day of rain. The storm is beating you down. But, you get up, and you live to fight another day. Do not give yourself a choice during your storm, just accept that it is happening and do what needs to be done. Consciously make an effort to choose joy instead of giving into misery. Because without rain, nothing grows.

Sometimes, doing good is exhausting. Sometimes it can feel like you are the only one who really cares, and the only one who is trying to make a difference and do some good. You can feel alone and tired of being different. I know the feeling. Sometimes, the thought crosses my mind that it would be so much easier to be like the world wants me to be. It would be so much easier to go with the flow and conform to society’s standards. But then I remember Galatians 6:9 which says “Let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap if we do not give up.”galations

This verse pretty much says “Don’t give up!”, don’t let the world get you down and tell you that the good you are doing is not making a difference, and that you are incapable of changing the world. It can feel so lonely when other people don’t accept the way you live or how you act. But the Bible says to not grow weary. Don’t let the world exhaust you and make you think that you aren’t making a difference. Every good deed you do, every nice word you say, and every selfless action just shows people God’s love through you. God says that it will all be worth it if we do not give up! We will make a difference, and we will change people’s lives for the better.

Whenever you feel like you are just one person, and that your “doing good” is not making a difference, know that it truly is. Do not grow weary, don’t give up, because it is so worth it.

We all have tough times. We all have pain that we think won’t end, and sadness that seems to take over every other emotion. When life sends you into a deep dark pit, know that God will be there with a ladder to help you climb up and out. How do I know this? His word tells us in Exodus 15:26 that “I am the Lord that heals you.”ephesians

If you have watched my “life update” video on YouTube then you know there is a lot going on in my life right now, and the main thing that has kept me going is the knowledge that God has a reason for this season, and He will heal my heart in His time. Life is hard. We all know that, but even though we know it, we aren’t always prepared for when it bares its teeth. It always seems to do so at the worst time and when you least expect it.

Whether you are suffering from an illness, depression, anxiety, or even a broken heart, we can find comfort in knowing that nothing lasts forever and that the pain is temporary. This dark time cannot compare to the joy that is in store for you in this life! Keep hanging on. You are an overcomer.

Does life have you feeling like you just can’t win? Do you feel defeated or confused at why God is putting you through difficult times? Or, are you having trouble understanding why bad things happen to you when you are such a good person? Are you mad at God for the situations He has put you in? John 13:7 has some words of wisdom for you.john 13

John 13:7 says “Jesus replied ‘You don’t understand now what I am doing, but someday you will.’” This verse pretty much says that you might not know what God is working in your life or why he has put you in the situation or difficult times, but someday you will understand. When you feel frustrated or afraid or mad at what is going on in your life, just know that it is all for a reason. God does not give you anything you cannot handle. He knows your limits, he knows your strengths, and He knows what is best for you. In the future you will be able to look back at these hard times and know that God had his hand in all of it.

Keep the faith, keep praying, and keep trusting that God has got this all under control.
