If you are unfamiliar with the term “prayer walk,” then you’re about to learn how you can pray for your home, your school, and the people around you! Prayer walks involve praying for the places, and people in those places, where we desire to see God’s presence.

Prayer walking is one of the coolest things to do, especially when you see your prayers eventually fulfilled right in front of you.  God promises that when we ask for something in his name, he will deliver. So why not try to ask God for blessings over the places you go and the people in your life?

When it comes to prayer walks, think of what that place needs from the Lord. If you want to pray over your house, pray for your roommates, your family, or whoever else you live with. Pray for security and safety over your house and the people in it.

Ephesians 6:18 says, “And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.”

No matter where you are, it’s always a good time to pray! There is no such thing as a bad prayer. Present any and every request to God and he will always hear you!

Start with a prayer walk in your home. Whether that be your apartment, your dorm room at college, or wherever else you call home. Once you’ve prayed over your house, take a prayer walk through your neighborhood! Then, do the same on your drive to work, praying for every house you pass and every community you drive through. You never know which places are in definite need of prayer!

You can even use verses from the Bible to guide you through your prayer walk to get some ideas of what to ask God for.

2 Samuel 7:28-29 says, “Now therefore may it please you to bless the house of your servant, so that it may continue forever before you. For you, O Lord God, have spoken, and with your blessing shall the house of your servant be blessed forever.”

Ask God for blessings over your home. There is nothing too big or too small to request from God! Ask God to grant grace, security, health, etc. to your home and any other blessings you can think of!

Another verse I like to think of is Psalm 122:7. It says, “Peace be within your walls and security within your towers.” Let’s pray for peace and safety no matter where we’re at. Especially in our houses, apartments, dorms, or wherever we find ourselves spending most of our time, ask God for these things.

After doing a prayer walk, write down the things you prayed for. Then you can eventually look back and see how it has impacted your home! 🙂

Start today with as quick as a 5-minute prayer walk! See what and who needs prayer, and start there!

DIY Bathroom Storage Ideas

Whether you’re living in a dorm, apartment, or you’re still at home, everyone can use a little more space when it comes to bathroom storage.  Especially if you’re in college, living the dorm life can leave you with minimal bathroom space.  I came up with a few DIYs you can use when it comes to bathroom storage that are both cute and helpful… That way, you get the best of both worlds!

  • DIY Mason Jars.  Mason jars are some of my favorite things to use as organizers.  They give off a vintage feel and you can decorate them to match your room, bathroom, etc.  You can use paint and fun tape to customize them yourself!  Chelsea Crockett - Magnetic Organizer
  • Multiple Hook Towel Rack.  When there’s only one or two hooks to hang your towels on, you can run into some trouble, especially if you share a bathroom with others.  Get a rack to mount on your wall or door to keep each other’s towels apart and dry!
  • Plastic containers.  Don’t underestimate the power of plastic containers!  There are tons of different plastic bins and containers to separate and organize your bathroom stuff in.  You can even purchase stackable ones and label whose is whose!
  • Wall cup organizer.  Organizers like the featured image above are super handy and not to mention so cute!  I suggest using your walls to your advantage.  Only storing things in your bathroom drawers or cabinets can get cluttered and unorganized!
  • Magnetic organizers.  These things are lifechanging and I didn’t even know they existed!  The picture on the right shows different magnetic organizers you can mount on your wall.  They make it easy to keep things separated and easy to find!

I hope these help you organize your bathroom better!

Home Remedies for Killing Nasty Allergies

Spring fever is in full swing! With the flowers budding and the warm weather moving in, there’s also a negative side to the beautiful outdoors: allergies. You can’t stop them and they only seem to get worse throughout each month. Besides the obvious medicines and vitamins, there are things at home you can do to lessen your symptoms!

Hot showers are the one of the best ways to clear up your stuffy nose. Because of the steam, it hydrates your sinuses and eliminates dryness. If you don’t want to fully take a shower to get the steam effect, pour boiling water in a bowl, put your head over the top of it, and inhale. This works just as well! (If you want to go the extra mile, buy a humidifier and put it in your room while you sleep!)

Chelsea Crockett - Peppermint TeaPeppermint is an easy and enjoyable way to clear up your stuffy nose. If you’re a tea drinker, add some dry or chopped fresh peppermint to a cup of warm tea. The warmth of your tea will help your throat and the peppermint will work at opening your sinuses. Another bonus to add to your mint tea, is a little bit of honey. Legend says that, because bees transfer pollen to honey, eating or drinking a little bit every day can slowly make you immune to its effects! It’s worth a try!

If you’re a victim of nasty allergies, share your remedy secrets below!

Hey ladies! You guys deserve the inside scoop. That is why you are called “Insiders”! Today I am going to give you an inside look at my hometown, St. Louis Missouri! I actually live a little outside of St. Louis, but I am close enough to enjoy all the city has to offer! I am going to tell you the top 3 things to do in St. Louis so you can see what I do for fun here, and what you can do if you ever visit my city!

 1. Go up in the Gateway Arch! St. Louis’s most famous landmark is the Arch! It stands 630 feet tall and is the first thing you see when you drive into the city! There is a museum underground directly under the Arch, which is really cool. You can board little elevator cars and go allllll the way up to the top of the arch where you can look out over the city! It is definitely a bird’s eye view! It is an amazing experience, and something you just HAVE to do when in STL!

2. Go to a Cardinals game! Here in The Lou (the nickname for STL) we take baseball VERY seriously! We love our Cards. We

even got a new stadium recently! Baseball games are a highlight of the summer in my city for sure. If you want to really experience my city, then a Cards game is your best bet!

3. Go to Forest Park! Forest park has SO much to do! It is definitely not just a park. The St. Louis Zoo is located in Forest Park, and is considered one of the top zoos in the country! Also, during the winter there is fabulous ice skating in the park. The STL Art museum is also located in the park. It sits on top of a HUUUGE hill called “Art Hill” where you can picnic! The Boat House is also in Forest Park, and that is a restaurant where you can rent boats and paddle through the park! So much fun!

I hope your travels take you to St. Louis in the future, because it is a city you won’t forget!

XOXO, Chels
