Having healthy, glowing skin is one of the simple pleasures in life. A homemade coconut oil face mask can help you achieve the healthy skin we all long for! Coconut oil is naturally rich in antioxidants and healthy acids and will soften and lubricate healthy skin cells, break down dead cells, heal acne, and hydrate skin. How does this homemade mask work?

Coconut oil’s structure allows it to infiltrate skin pores to soften rough skin from within. Honey is a natural humectant, which hydrates skin cells. The last ingredient is lemon juice. Fresh lemon juice helps tighten and shrink large pores.

Ingredients:8836716_f520

  • 1 tablespoon coconut oil
  • 2 teaspoons raw honey
  • 1/2 teaspoon lemon juice

Combine these ingredients in a small bowl. Apply a thick coat of the mixture onto your clean face. Allow it to sit on your face for 10 minutes and then rinse it off with cool water. Pat your face dry, don’t rub it.

Now get ready for clear, soft skin!

Natural Ways to Get Rid of Scarring

Acne, birth marks, and facial injuries can leave our skin looking a little rough.  Finally the zits have gone away, but the scars left are no fun either.  There are many beauty products that claim to reduce scarring, but these products can be expensive and usually contain a lot of chemicals.  Luckily, there are so many natural ways to reduce scarring on your own for half the cost!  By using these products you can safely reduce scarring, while not hurting your skin.

Many scars are darker than our normal skin tone making it easy for them to be spotted.  Lemon juice, a natural bleach aid, can be rubbed on the scars to lighten the color.  Apply the lemon juice twice a day for 15 minutes before rinsing off with water.  Do this until you are happy with the results!  Ice and aloe are two natural ways to get rid of scars as well.  Although it can be cold and a little painful, rubbing ice on your scars for 15 minutes a day can help tighten the skin.  Apply ChelseaCrockett- icealoe gel to new scars to prevent permanent scarring.  You can even apply this to the scars after the ice has been removed.

If you’ve seen some of my latest videos, then you’ve probably heard me talk about tea tree oil.  It works like magic and can found at almost any drug store!  I’ve been applying it to my acne scars and have watched them disappear.  Remember, getting rid of scars does not happen overnight.  Be patient, apply the proper treatment, and watch the scars fade away.

XOXO,

Chelsea

What You’re Doing Wrong to Your Skin

Hi Insiders,             It’s hard not to “repin” a beauty mask on Pinterest that will get rid of acne once and for all.  Let’s be real, we’ve all done it…

Hi Insiders,

It’s hard not to “repin” a beauty mask on Pinterest that will get rid of acne once and for all.  Let’s be real, we’ve all done it and even tried it!  There are so many beauty products and remedies out there that claim to be “the best” for your skin.  So how do you know that your beauty regime isn’t hurting your skin?!  Truth be told, there are a lot of beauty products and/or remedies that may be doing more harm than help to your skin.

  • Lemon juice has been a topic of debate in the beauty world recently.  In the long run, the powerful acid may be slowly damaging your skin.  It breaks down the skins acidChelsea Crockett- sunscreen mantle, which blocks the skin from bacteria that can cause acne and/or infections.
  • Use sunscreen!!  This is one of the biggest beauty mistakes you can make.  Sun spots from overexposed skin to the sun can leave you looking older than you are.  It also protects against skin cancer.
  • Applying too many different products to your skin can cause breakouts.  Your skin does not know how to react to an overhaul of product causing irritation and confusion to your skin.  Try one product and a time to make sure it cooperates with your skin.
  • Just because you have oily skin doesn’t mean you shouldn’t use products with oil in it.  If you over wash your face and use acid based products to get rid of oil, your skin will just produce more oil.  Use a safe balance of both oil and acid when cleansing your face.

Love your skin and treat it properly!

Chelsea

How To Reverse Beauty Mistakes 101

Hi Insiders,

Have you ever applied makeup or a new product and thought, “Uh oh.”  Well don’t worry, it happens to everyone.  I’ve had my fair share of beauty mishaps.  Although the outcome may look horrendous, there is a way to reverse everything.  I will give you the 101 on how to reverse the most common beauty mistakes.Chelsea Crockett- beauty mistakes

  • Put on too much self-tanner?  No problem!  Squeeze fresh lemon juice on a loofah and start scrubbing away in a hot shower.  This will slowly remove dark splotches and streak marks.  Apply lotion generously when you’re finished.
  • You’ve spent too much time in the pool and now your blonde locks are green.  Yuck!  To reverse the green tint, shampoo your hair twice, once with a shampoo with golden tones and once with a clarifying shampoo.  You can find a variety of these shampoos at your local department store or click here!  Just make sure to read the bottle!  Be sure to rinse your hair with tap water after each dip in the pool to prevent this from happening again.
  • You got sweaty after you applied your makeup.  No worries!  Always carry oil pads, a beauty sponge, and lip gloss with a pop of color in your purse.  Use the oil pads to soak up excess sweat, smooth foundation and remove smudged eyeliner with the sponge, and apply the lip gloss to give yourself that fresh look.

I hope these tricks come in handy!  Next time you make a beauty mistake, remember, there is always a quick fix!
