Forgiveness is a hard concept. How do you forgive someone that has wronged you so many times, again… and again… and again? Do you let someone get by with hurting you, no matter the situation?

Forgiveness is hard as it is, but it’s even harder when you can’t forget. It’s easy to forgive someone for something small and go about your day like it never happened, but when someone really hurts you, I mean really hurts you,it isn’t always that simple.

So, how do you forgive when you can’t forget?

The Bible talks about forgiveness many, many times and gives us advice on how to go about it. I wanted to share some powerful verses that will help you let go of anger, resentment, or whatever you may be holding in.

Luke 6:37 says, “Do not judge, and you will not be judged. Do not condemn, and you will not be condemned. Forgive, and you will be forgiven.”

We all make mistakes in life, some more than others. But we can’t deny that we’ve all messed up and have sinned against God, others, and even ourselves at times. It’s easy to judge others instead of taking a step back and judging ourselves. Why do we give ourselves the power to hold grudges for what others have done to us, when we make mistakes as well?

This mindset of “forgiving and not forgetting” comes from a place of judgement, and we so often forget who the ultimate judge is. When we decide we want to hold a grudge, we are not only being hypocritical, but we’re forgetting that God forgives us every single day, hour, minute… and not only forgives, but tosses any memory of our sin away.

Hebrews 8:12 says, “For I will be merciful toward their iniquities, and I will remember their sins no more.”

Every day, we should be striving to be more like Christ. If our heavenly father forgives even our darkest of sins, then we too can extend our forgiveness to those who have wronged us in the past, no matter how many times they have.

Now I know it’s not that simple. It can be hard to forget at the snap of your finger. But taking the steps toward forgiveness is better than not trying at all.

Have you tried putting yourself in their shoes? Remembering how it’s felt to seek forgiveness when you know you might not deserve it? We’ve all been there and, although it can be hard to adapt God’s mindset, it will benefit you greatly throughout your life.

So, start today by letting go of any grudges you may be holding. Maybe for you this means having a tough conversation with someone. Or maybe it means finally letting go of the past. It can be hard to be the bigger person, but it is always so worth it!

In Matthew 18:21-22, Peter asks Jesus, “Lord, how many times shall I forgive my brother or sister who sins against me? Up to seven times?” Jesus replied: “I tell you, not seven times, but seventy-seven times.”

Take notes from what Jesus is telling Peter in this story. Forgive and forget not once, not twice, but an endless amount of times. Forgive others just as the Lord forgives you!

Concealer is one of the best beauty tools in the world.  You can hide your tiredness by disguising dark circles or conceal stubborn pimples that won’t go away.  It color corrects, brightens, and evens out your skin to give you the perfect foundation for a beautiful face of makeup.  With that being said, we should know what we’re doing wrong with our concealer to guarantee that we’re making the most out of our product!

  1. Rubbing in your concealer with your finger.Chelsea Crockett - Naked Concealer  It may be gross to think about, but our fingers are covered in dirt, oil, and lots of bacteria.  Our fingers also don’t absorb any of our concealer like a beauty blender would which leaves it feeling caked on.  A beauty blender will blend it evenly and leave you without creases or streaks!
  2. Using the same concealer for all your blemishes, dark circles, etc.  Although this isn’t necessarily the wrong way of doing it, you can get much better coverage by using differently textured concealers.  For dark circles, try using a thicker concealer such as a cream based one.  As for pimples, try using a light, liquid concealer!
  3. Applying your concealer first as your base.  Although you may be anxious to cover up those zits as soon as you wake up, you won’t get your best coverage by starting with concealer.  Apply your foundation first, then apply your concealer!

What mistake are you making?  Now you know what to change when it comes to applying concealer!

If you browse through my website, you’ll be sure to find out that I love food…especially sweets! Whenever I have free time, I love to try out new baking recipes for fun! While it may seem easy, baking can be hard sometimes! I even mess up the box directions! By observing my mom and my own mistakes, I figured out the way around some of the most common…and not some common, baking mistakes. Let’s make the best cake ever!Chelsea Crockett- baking mistakes

  • I love love love fruit! If you’re making a cake or cupcakes with fresh fruit, roll the fruit through flour to keep each piece from sinking to the bottom.
  • Melting chocolate chips can be hard! Microwave chocolate pieces with vegetable or canola oil for short amounts of time, stirring in between. Chocolate can burn very easily! (I’ve done this too many times.)
  • Only fill cupcake cases 2/3 high to leave room for rising! They’ll turn out to be the perfect size!
  • Don’t put too many things in your oven! This causes the baking time to be longer, which may result in over-baked or burnt goods!
  • Test cakes right out of the oven by dipping a toothpick in the cake. If the toothpick is clean, then your cake is perfectly cooked!
  • To avoid your desserts from looking sloppy, make sure they are fully cooled before decorating or icing. I know it’s hard to be patient when it smells so good!!

Happy baking Insiders!

10 Beauty Mistakes You Didn’t Know You Were Making

Do you ever crawl into bed after a long day and accidentally fall asleep with your makeup on? Or maybe you always “forget” to wash your makeup brushes. Sound familiar?…

Do you ever crawl into bed after a long day and accidentally fall asleep with your makeup on? Or maybe you always “forget” to wash your makeup brushes. Sound familiar? These are only a couple of the many beauty crimes you might be committing! I’m here to let you know what beauty mistakes you should put an end to ASAP!

  1. Sleeping in your makeup. Foundation residue and layers of eye shadow are doing more than you think when you sleep. They clog your pores and encourage breakouts!
  2. Wearing waterproof mascara every day. Doing this results in dried-out lashes. Also, when scrubbing it off at the end of the day, you’re likely to lose more lashes.
  3. Ignoring a topcoat. If you want your polish to last, don’t neglect this.
  4. Applying nail polish over your cuticles. Your polish won’t stay on for long. Avoid this!
  5. Forgetting to wash your makeup brushes. Keep them clean to keep away any bacteria you might be adding to your skin. Yuck!
  6. Applying makeup in the wrong lighting. You don’t want to look orange or like a ghost!Chelsea Crockett - Matching Foundation
  7. Reapplying makeup continuously throughout your day. Caking on makeup is never a good idea. Although it may seem like there’s none left, wash your face before adding another layer!
  8. Matching your foundation shade to the back of your hand. This often tricks you by thinking you found the perfect shade.
  9. Washing your hair every day. Having hydrated locks is good, so don’t dry them out by doing this.
  10. Forgetting to apply facial sunscreen. Sunburns to your face are often the most damaging to your pores. Avoid it before it happens!

And the list goes on and on! Put a stop to your beauty crimes before they do even more damage!

Hi Insiders,

Have you ever applied makeup or a new product and thought, “Uh oh.”  Well don’t worry, it happens to everyone.  I’ve had my fair share of beauty mishaps.  Although the outcome may look horrendous, there is a way to reverse everything.  I will give you the 101 on how to reverse the most common beauty mistakes.Chelsea Crockett- beauty mistakes

  • Put on too much self-tanner?  No problem!  Squeeze fresh lemon juice on a loofah and start scrubbing away in a hot shower.  This will slowly remove dark splotches and streak marks.  Apply lotion generously when you’re finished.
  • You’ve spent too much time in the pool and now your blonde locks are green.  Yuck!  To reverse the green tint, shampoo your hair twice, once with a shampoo with golden tones and once with a clarifying shampoo.  You can find a variety of these shampoos at your local department store or click here!  Just make sure to read the bottle!  Be sure to rinse your hair with tap water after each dip in the pool to prevent this from happening again.
  • You got sweaty after you applied your makeup.  No worries!  Always carry oil pads, a beauty sponge, and lip gloss with a pop of color in your purse.  Use the oil pads to soak up excess sweat, smooth foundation and remove smudged eyeliner with the sponge, and apply the lip gloss to give yourself that fresh look.

I hope these tricks come in handy!  Next time you make a beauty mistake, remember, there is always a quick fix!
