God is known to move mountains. He can and will continue to do so in your life and the lives of those around you, you just have to seek him out and ask!

You may be thinking, “What exactly is a ‘mountain moving prayer?’”

Mark 11:23-24 says, “Truly I tell you, if anyone says to this mountain, ‘Go, throw yourself into the sea,’ and does not doubt in their heart but believes that what they say will happen, it will be done for them. Therefore, I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.”

Mountain moving prayers are those of which that seem impossible, but can be made possible by God. They’re the prayers that’ll work wonders and truly make a difference when you believe in God’s power and his ability to do so.

Pray for the world.

The world could always use a little more prayer. If you don’t know where to start, see what the news has to say about the devastating events that are happening all across the globe. There is always somewhere that needs someone to pray for them, whether that be a country going through a natural disaster or a place that has yet to be introduced to Christ. Whatever the case may be, never stop praying for the people around the world and the places that need our prayers the most!

Pray for the future.

May the God of hope fill you with all joy and peace as you trust in him, so that you may overflow with hope by the power of the Holy Spirit.” – Romans 15:13

We may never know what the future holds, but it’s comforting to know that God does. When we pray for security over our future, God works wonders and reassures us that our paths are already laid out ahead of us! We just have to trust in him and find comfort in his word. God will take care of the rest!

Pray for guidance.

“But when he, the Spirit of truth, comes, he will guide you into all the truth. He will speak on his own; he will speak only what he hears, and he will tell you what is yet to come.” – John 16:13

Praying for guidance allows for God to speak to us, and opens doors we never thought would be opened. It gives me a peace of mind knowing that I can hear God if I simply listen for him! When we ask God for guidance, he will surely give it to us, whether it be in the form of small whispers or a wise best friend!

Pray for discovery.

When we pray for discovery, God takes this opportunity to reveal things to us, whether we want him to or not. Maybe he’ll reveal certain convictions that you’ve pushed to the back of your mind time and time again. Or maybe he’ll have you discover things about him and his word that you never have before!

Pray for influence.

Lastly, pray for the influence you have on people. We are quick to underestimate ourselves, but people take notice when they can see the love of Christ shining through us! God uses our bodies as vessels to help him do his work here on earth. Never underestimate the influence you have! Pray for boldness and confidence in this area, and God will use you more than you know!

These are only some of the many things that you can, and should, pray for! Don’t be afraid to talk to God, and let him move mountains in your life and the lives around you! 🙂

Why Do We Pray?

Prayer is one of the best things in the world. It calms me, secures me, and strengthens me when I need it. It’s something so intimate that connects us to God and lets us feel his presence all around us.

I’ve often heard people question the “why” behind prayer. Why do we pray if we can’t hear God back? Why do we pray if God already knows the will he has for us? There are so many reasons to pray, you just have to discover them!

We pray for others.

And pray in the Spirit on all occasions with all kinds of prayers and requests. With this in mind, be alert and always keep on praying for all the Lord’s people.” – Ephesians 6:18

God has no limits on who and how he can work in the lives of others. When we pray for our friends, our family, or even the people that aren’t easy to pray for, he moves among them. We may not see the results of our prayers right away, or even at all, but we can be confident in knowing that God hears us no matter what.

We pray for our requests.

This is the confidence we have in approaching God: that if we ask anything according to his will, he hears us. And if we know that he hears us – whatever we ask – we know that we have what we asked of him.” – 1 John 5:14-15

Whenever I need or want something, I go immediately to God. Although I know he may or may not answer my prayer, he always hears them. If God doesn’t answer, I know that his will for my life is different from what I had planned, and that’s okay! This verse gives us confidence in knowing that he hears our every request and knows the wants and needs of our hearts.

We pray for humility.

But he gives us more grace. That is why Scripture says: ‘God opposes the proud but shows favor to the humble.’” – James 4:6

Humility is something everyone struggles with. It’s hard to be humble in every season of life, especially when everything seems to be going our way. When we practice humility, we become more and more like Jesus. He was completely humble, putting others before himself in any and every situation. Pray for help from God in this area and practice it daily!

We pray for peace.

Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful.” – Colossians 3:15

This world could definitely use a little more peace. Whether that be peace with yourself or peace toward others, we are called to peace. Even in Jesus’s darkest days, he had peace in his heart in knowing God’s ultimate plan for his life. We need to have this same trust in God and have faith in his plans for us!

So, next time you’re finding it hard to pray, remember these things. Remember that God uses prayer to equip us with the things we need in life. We use prayer to help ourselves, to help others, and to simply talk to God and present our requests to him. Prayer is so powerful, so use it to feel the presence of God all around you!

When crisis hits, what is your first reaction? Is it panic? Anger? Mine is worry. I worry about what is going to happen next and what the future holds. When my worries start to get the best of me, I remember Philippians 4:6.

Philippians 4:6 says “Don’t worry about anything: Instead pray about everything.” What good can worrying do? It can only make you worry
more. Instead of wasting time, energy and emotion worrying, pray about it! God promises to hear your prayers, plus letting it go and letting God handle it takes a huge weight off of your chest. It is amazing what amazing things God can do in your life when you just let go and pray.

I have started keeping a prayer journal and writing my daily prayers in it. It is a great way to look back and see how God worked in your life through your prayers! Remember, don’t worry about anything, instead pray about everything.

As we grow up, we spend more and more time in a certain place…can you guess what it is? If you guessed work, then you guessed right. Because we spend so much time at our places of employment, whether we work from home or in an office, it is so important that we devote our work to the Lord. Our job is one of the ways that He provides for us and it is also a way to show you have a generous heart. God grows our character and our faith as we rely on him for strength to do our job. Here are 3 prayers to lift up to the Lord about your work.

  1. Thank the Lord that you can do all things through Him who strengthens you (Philippians 4:13).
  2. Ask God to help you be content in life and not desire money and possessions and not to want what others have, and ask Him to give you the desire to work hard for what you earn. (1 Thessalonians 41:11-12)
  3. Pray that you will be faithful and wise with your work responsibilities, whether they are big or small. Pray that God would help you be honest, even when it is hard to be. (Luke 16:10-13)

Lastly, pray that God would use you where you work to help show people His love! God has provided you the job that you have for a purpose and for a reason!

One of the most caring and thoughtful things you can do for your family is to pray for them. Whether you actually tell them you are or whether you keep it to yourself, praying for your family shows them that you deeply love them and that you care for them. It can bless you as well when you see your prayers for them being answered and when you see how God blesses their life because of your faithfulness! Your prayers can also help bring your family together and strengthen it. Here are 4 way

influences and sin in the world.

Have you ever found yourself in one of those amazing situations where you can’t believe that something just happened!  Imagine this: You had your final English paper due in the morning, but were up all night listening to your parents fight.  You weren’t able to finish the paper, because all of the turmoil in your house.  As you walk into class, prepared to tell the teacher that you didn’t finish, your teacher decides to move the due date.  Amazingly, you have an extra 2 days to finish your paper!  Is this a coincidence?  No, this is God winking at you.Chelsea Crockett- God Wink

A God wink is like a coincidence.  When God sees you’re in need of Him, He delivers.  God really does take care of you when you follow Him.  This is the best part about being a believer!  Think about those times when your grandpa gave you a wink from across the dining room table.  You knew that that was a reminder that he loves you and is thinking about you.  It’s the same with God!  It’s an answered prayer that leaves you speechless.  These God winks are little messages of reassurance that He loves us, cares for us, and will always be there for us.

“So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.” – Isaiah 41:10
