Colossians 3:23 says “Whatever you do, do it with all of your heart as doing it for the Lord, not for man.” What does this verse tell you? How can you apply it to your everyday life? I have a few ideas. Let’s break the verse down.
“Whatever you do, do it with all of your heart…” This line tells me to not just do something for the sake of doing it, or not just doing something to get it done and check it off of a list. It tells me that whatever I do, I need to do my best at it and give it my best effort. I need to put my heart into it. “…as doing it for the Lord, not for man.” To me, this says that your aim should be to please God, not man (or woman). You should do things because God wants you to, not because people want you to. You need to treat every situation with great care and do it to your best ability as if you were doing it for the Lord, not for another person. When you start to do this, people will notice there is something different about you and the way you treat others and act. What a great way to witness to others! Your actions speak so loudly about what is in your heart.
