Odds are, at some point in your life, you have walked out of the hair salon almost in tears because of a bad haircut. It is hard to communicate with your stylist exactly what you want. Here are a few ways to make sure you get the haircut you want and avoid the bad-hair-cut-blues.
- Do some prep work: Do some research before heading to get your hair cut. Research salons in your area and look at customer reviews.
- Come prepared: Bring more than one photo of what haircut/color you want. Point out specifically what you like about the pictures. Be as precise as possible! Also, share with the stylist what your daily hair routine looks like, whether it is styling it every day or letting it air dry. This will affect how “high or low maintenance” your hair cut is.
- Trust the stylist: If a stylist warns you against a certain cut or color, take their advice! They are the professionals and want you to feel your best and most confident. They know what looks best with certain face shapes and hair textures.
Salon trips should be fun and relaxing, not fearful and stressful!
