Summer can really do a number on your skin. It can dry it out, clog up your pores, burn it, all that good stuff! Here are some summer skin tips to keep your hide nice and safe.
- Find the right sunscreen for your skin type. This is super important because if you have oily skin, you need to get a sunscreen that is really light and won’t clog your pores! Read the labels good and well before purchasing sunscreen.
- Exfoliate more often. Dry skin is the enemy, and chlorine pools and sun can bring out your skin’s bad side! Make sure you exfoliate at least a few times a week to rid your body of all the dead skin that may be building up.
- Apply sunscreen 30 minutes before, and use cold yogurt on sunburns. Apply the sunscreen 30 minutes in advance to give it time to soak into your skin. You don’t want to sweat it off or wash off in the pool because you can get a nasty sunburn if your skin isn’t protected! Also, if you do end up looking like a lobster at the end of the day, use cold yogurt on your skin to sooth the burn and heal it.
