You, yes YOU, could be ruining your hair without even knowing it! How can this be?! How do I avoid unknowingly ruining my luscious locks?! Have no fear, Chelsea is here to tell you just what mistakes you may be making and how to avoid them! Save your mane!

  1. Protect those locks: ALWAYS use a heat protectant when you are styling your hair! Hot tools like blow dryers and hair straighteners are BRUTAL to your hair! Have you ever burned your skin with your curling iron? That heat is being applied to your hair! Your hair needs all the protection it can get.IMG_6733
  2. Pack on the protein: Your hair is made entirely of protein, so you need to make sure you are eating enough of it! Some examples are fish, chicken, and beans!
  3. Dry right: Did you know drying your hair with a towel can rough the cuticle up and leave it frizzy? ‘Tis the truth! Instead, dry your hair with a cotton t-shirt.
  4. Be a better brusher: We all know we aren’t supposed to brush our hair when it is wet, but the feel of stringy wet hair isn’t the best feeling ever. So, detangle your wet locks and brush through them with a wide toothed comb! Much better for your hair.
  5. Save your scalp: Your scalp is where your hair growth starts, so a healthy scalp = healthy hair! Give yourself a scalp massage daily to stimulate the follicles and get the blood moving throughout your scalp. This can lead to healthier, faster growing hair!

I have super long hair and I can honestly say that I keep up with these tips! Having long hair takes a lot of work, but it is worth the struggle!
