When you think of fall, what’s the first drink that comes to mind? Although yours may be pumpkin spice lattes, mine is apple cider! I always look forward to it when the seasons start to change. When I found a recipe for apple cider donuts, I couldn’t resist! (Just when you thought donuts couldn’t get any better!) So… here it is! You’re welcome :).

For your ingredients, here’s what you’ll need: 1 and ¼ cups of apple cider, 2 cups of flour, 1 teaspoon of baking soda, ¾ teaspoon of baking powder, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, ¼ teaspoon of salt, ¼ teaspoon of ground cloves, 1 egg, 2 tablespoons of melted butter, ½ cup of brown sugar, ½ cup of sugar, ½ cup of buttermilk, and 1 teaspoon of vanilla extract. Now for the directions. Preheat your oven to 375° F and spray a donut mold to set aside. Simmer the apple cider for 15-20 minutes then place it in the fridge. Toss the flour, baking soda, baking powder, cloves, cinnamon, and salt together in a bowl. In another bowl, whisk together the egg, sugar, brown sugar, and egg. Add in the buttermilk, a ½ cup of the simmered apple cider, and vanilla. Combine the ingredients from the two bowls and whisk them together. Pour your mixture into your donut pan and bake them for about ten minutes. To finish off your donuts, make a mixture by stirring together sugar and cinnamon. Dip the tops of your donuts in some melted butter then in your cinnamon-sugar. After completing this for all of your donuts, you’re ready to dig in!
