Ah the start of a new school year! New people, new classes, and NEW CLOTHES! Back to school clothes shopping is always a fun way to take your mind off the school work ahead. Purchasing staple pieces for back-to-school wear is essential in creating the perfect wardrobe! Check out my key pieces to create your dream outfits for this fall.

Army Jacket: This jacket can be worn with almost anything! Throw it on over a dress to make it more casual or dress it up with a scarf and boots. It’s the simplest thrown on, throw off jacket!
Rain Boots: Fall is a season of rain and snow. Having a pair of rain boots on hand is perfect for those days! Try wearing a pair of tall socks under your boots for cold, snowy days!
Tans and Browns: Fall is the perfect time to break out your tan and brown clothing. Not to mention, it matches EVERYTHING! It’s important to have a few tan/brown sweaters and tees to throw on with any outfit.
Riding Boots: Class up any outfit with a pair of these!
Vests: Nothing completes an outfit like a good vest. Try pairing a vest with a button up or sweater to add warmth and style to your outfit. They’re also super cute!
Oversized Plaid Shirts: This is the ultimate comfy clothing item. Wear it buttoned up with a pair of distressed jeans or leggings, or wear it open with a tee. Add to the grungy look by throwing on a pair of combat boots and a beanie (for those bad hair days).

Putting together outfits and shopping for one them is a girl’s favorite hobby. It’s one of mine! I mean, I am a beauty and fashion guru! Have fun expanding your back-to-school wardrobe!

School Dances is just around the corner. I know you want to know the latest styles and trends to look your best. My advice would be to stay true to yourself! Do you like short and fun or long and classic? The hottest colors and styles are something you can decide while staying within your budget. After deciding upon a dress, your shoes will be the next decision.

Your shoes can be fun to choose but remember you have to wear them all evening long. Be sure to choose a pair that fits well and compliments your dress. Are you looking for strappy, heeled sandals, pumps or flats? Silver, gold, or nude can top off any evening dress! If your gown was affordable, then splurge on an adorable pair of shoes!

Last, but not least, your hair and makeup will be a big decision. Will you decide on an up-do or go with long, flowing locks? It’s always fun to make an appointment to have your hair done. Every girl likes a little pampering! Be sure to look at some of my beauty tips and tutorials for your evening makeup! You can go for dramatic eyes and lips or soft hues with light glosses for your lips. Whatever your decision is….Embrace your own style and make memories with special friends!

It’s every fashion lover’s dream to attend the most sought after week in fashion, New York Fashion Week! Some of you may be wondering what NYFW is. It’s a time where the most recognized and up and coming designers come together to showcase their designs. This year brought out the crazy in some designers with wacky and creative clothes and displays! Check out all that happened this year at NYFW!

When fashion week takes place in the fall, then that means they are showcasing designs for the spring/summer 2015 seasons. One of the biggest trends seen on the runway was floral! From Stella McCartney to Alberta Ferretti, floral prints were placed on some of the biggest designers clothing. Dresses and pants were covered in pretty flower designs and paired with over-the-top accessories. Another huge trend to hit the runway was fringe! The fringe detail was added to the bottom of skirts and dress and even under the arms of jackets!

Miley Cyrus made a crazy appearance at the Jeremy Scott show by creating her own jewelry pieces for the models to wear out of beads and embellishments. Other celebs like Kendall Jenner and Karlie Kloss were seen strutting their stuff on the runways.

NYFW was a full week full of A-list celebrities and couture designs. Keep your eyes peeled next time you go shopping for some of these fabulous clothes!

Last Sunday was one of the greatest award shows out of the whole year! Hundreds of celebrities gathered for the Video Music Awards in California and I know I wasn’t the only one wishing to be there! With homecoming dances just around the corner, what better way to get some inspiration than from the hottest dress trends at the VMAs?

Black and white dresses seemed to be a norm on the red carpet this year. The entire Fifth Harmony clan had a perfect variety of simple, yet classy, black and white dresses. Other celebrities such as Kylie Jenner and Beyoncé pulled off the look just as well.

Another common seen trend at the VMAs was shimmer and sequins. If you want a fun look for homecoming, I definitely suggest a little glitter! Jennifer Lopez looked stunning in her sparkling dress! If you like some shimmer, it’s a perfect way to dress up your look for homecoming without going too over the top.

Now this last “trend” isn’t exactly what most people would think of when I say the word trend… but it’s probably the best one there is! Being yourself is something that each celebrity has definitely stayed committed to at the VMAs. If you look through the red carpet pictures, you’ll see tons of different styles, patterns, and pieces. No matter who it was, they stuck with their own style not caring of what people thought. I encourage you to do the same when picking out your signature dress :)!

Shoes are my favorite. Scratch that, BOOTS are my favorite! If you are like me, that means you are heading back to school soon. Booo! But, school doesn’t have to be such a bummer. Know why? Because school means that you get to dress to impress every day! And what better way to turn heads than a great pair of boots. Here are my favorite boots for back to school!

Simple ankle booties: These boots can be worn with anything from dresses to skirts to shorts to jeans! It is still pretty hot when school is starting back up, so you definitely want to stick to shorter boots. That is why you can pair these simple booties with skirts or shorts! They are super versatile and add a can dress your outfit up.

Cut out booties: Have you seen anyone out and about wearing these …boots? I love them. Why? Because they are so
different. They are subtly edgy, but also simple. You can also wear these with these with skirts shorts and dresses, just like the boots above. These boots also have a slight heel to them, so they give you a little extra oomf and can be worn in casual or dressy situations.

Fringe booties: These go with the boho trend that you will be seeing this fall. They are fun, flirty, and free spirited!

As sweet summer time comes to an end, I always find it important to reflect on all of the amazing memories I have from summer vacation. This summer is no exception and one that I will never forget! Come with me as I take you on a journey through my 2014 summer reflection.

Spending time with my family and friends is one of my biggest priorities! This summer my friends and I went four-wheeling which was a total blast! For those of you that don’t know me, I am a total freak when it comes to adventure and ATVs! I love the rush and excitement. I also got to go horseback riding and bungee jumping in Tennessee with my family and friends, which I absolutely loved! It was so beautiful everywhere and I made sure I soaked in every moment.

As for my YouTube career, getting to work with Seventeen magazine on my #17before17 series was such an amazing experience! I got to do so many things I never would’ve imagined and stepped out of my comfort zone. Last but not least, giving back to God is what I live for. I got to go on a mission trip to Kentucky which brought me closer to Christ. I was able to bring joy to children who needed a little lift in their spirit. It was moving!

God has blessed my family and I tremendously and I hope He continues to do great things in my life! I challenge you to jot down your favorite summer memories and a few things you’re thankful for on a piece of paper. It’ll be a reminder of how blessed of a summer you had!

If any of you watched this year’s Kids Choice Awards, you probably noticed the amazing fashion that was seen on the orange carpet… and yes I said orange! The KCA’s are sponsored by Nickelodeon, so what’s better for the occasion than an orange carpet? Here are a few fashion statements made throughout the show that you can put into action for your spring wardrobe!

One style that I spotted quite often was long and lengthy skirts. They were seen in all different colors and patterns, a perfect way to start off your spring styles! Debby Ryan, Laura Marano, and Coco Jones are a few examples spotted wearing this chic trend.

Simple solids were also hot on the carpet this year. Lia Marie Johnson and Bella Thorne had a couple of the cutest colors that looked outstanding on them. One of my favorites was Ariana Grande’s simple yellow-orange dress to the left. So pretty!

The timeless trend of lace was of course seen once or twice throughout the night. Lea Michele, Peyton List, and Audrey Whitby all had gorgeous dresses! Don’t be afraid to put these trends to action next time you’re out shopping to complete your spring wardrobe!

Welcome to 2014! I can’t believe how quickly time goes by. Doesn’t it feel like just yesterday you were a little kid? When looking back on life, I’m sure you can find a lot of things to be thankful for. I know I can! As you get older, it’s important to focus yourself on more important things, rather than material goals. Focus on being a better you and making others happy!
Getting into the high school and college scene can be fun, but never forget about your family or spirituality. This year, I challenge you to spend more time with your family and with God. I know it can be hard to pay grandma a visit when you have a million things to do, but just think about the joy that it will bring to her! Also, focus on becoming closer with God. Buy a devotional, talk with others, or download some spiritual music on your iPod. I promise, it’s not that hard!

You always hear of the classic line, “I’m going to lose weight this year.” STOP. Instead of saying “losing weight” say, “I’m going to be healthy this year.” As long as you exercise and eat healthy, then who cares if you are stick thin! Focus on being a healthier you, not a skinnier you.

Come up with a list of things to challenge yourself with this year. They don’t have to be resolutions, just small things to work on. With a few simple tweaks in your lifestyle, you’ll discover a happier you.

Hi Insiders!
As all of you know, my favorite Bible verse is Jeremiah 29:11. It states,
“For I know the plans I have for you,” declares The Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” We serve a big God! He wants to do new and big things in your lives and mine.

With God on our side, anything is possible. God can open doors and opportunities that you may think are impossible. Start making room in your mind for what God may have in store for you. You must conceive it in your heart and mind before you can receive it. Pray for wisdom about decisions and then wait expectantly to hear from God.

Keep your “spiritual eyes” focused on positive thoughts so your life can move in that direction. Focus on the good things in life and continually give thanks. Start your day with faith, spend time with God, and then wait for his favor to help you rise above life’s challenges. Remember today is the first day of the rest of your life…..A New Year, A New You!

Hey everyone!

Several popular trends from last year revolve around old fashioned styles such as high waisted shorts and big, chunky jewelry. Not only trends and styles are making their way back into the 2000s, but other old fashioned things, as well. Keep on reading to find out what’s here to make its comeback in 2014!

Usually big, square glasses would be considered nerdy, but it seems they have made their mark as a trend recently! If you want a more “hipster” feel, I definitely would consider checking them out next time you’re in need of some glasses. If you’ve got perfect vision, you can grab a fake pair at Claire’s for only a few dollars!

As teenagers, we all have a picture phone or a digital camera. Back in the day, Polaroid cameras were the “best new thing.” They’ve now started to make their way back into the picture. If you’re into photography, you can buy them at Urban Outfitters or sometimes even find a steal at a garage sale! They take super cool pictures and develop them immediately for you to hang or frame.

Another old fashioned thing that Urban Outfitters sells is a record player. They also have records of up-to-date artists such as Mumford & Sons and John Mayer. They give off a vintage feel and are a fun accessory to your room! Make sure you check em’ out!

Hi all!

                It’s that time of year when we all decide to make changes for the new year. Of course, exercising and eating better are always on many people’s lists. This year, however, I would like to challenge you to think outside of the box and focus on goals to help yourself and others! Here are a few ideas.                Happiness is good for your health and our happiness increases when we help others. Volunteering is a great way to help others. Find a local charity or animal shelter where you can give a hand or help to raise money for. If you make volunteering a resolution, you will certainly be giving back to the community and that will help you to feel really good about yourself!
                Another healthy resolution would be to stay in touch with old friends or family. So often our lives get so busy that we fail to keep in touch with those who mean so much to us. Just spending a little extra time with grandparents can mean the world to them and you. You can learn so much from their wisdom and you’ll never regret the time you spent to bond with them.
