2016 was quite the year to remember.  It gave us many things, both good and bad, that will go down in the books!  Something that 2016 did give us were many trends that made their statements in the fashion world!  There are several fashion trends that are predicted to make their debut or comeback in 2017.  Here are some of them so you can get a head start!

  • Sheer.  Chelsea Crockett - Slip DressSheer is a material that’s always been around but has never gotten a lot of attention.  But in 2017, it’s supposed to be one of the hottest trends!
  • Flare.  Flare jeans have started to make a comeback toward the end of 2016, but in 2017, they’re expected to really take off!  I love the flared look because it adds a Boho, fun feel to your outfit.
  • Romantic style.  This trend includes a lot of velvet, silk, pinks, and reds!  An outfit like the one on the right represents this feminine style perfectly.  Silk slip dresses will be in almost every store next year! 🙂
  • Sneakers.  In 2016, retro Adidas sneakers made a massive comeback.  In the new year, sneakers will be totally acceptable to throw on with almost any look!  Get a pair that you can rock to pull off the street style.
  • Street style.  Speaking of street style, it is big as it is, but it’s getting even bigger!  Brands such as Adidas, Nike, and many others will be coming out with some stylish pieces to add to your street style collection.

Which trend can you see yourself rocking in 2017?  Let me know below!

New Year’s Eve is hands down the most fun night of the year!  Whether you party it up with your friends or kick it with your family, it’s always fun to ring in the new year.  Despite the festivities, you’ll need a fashionable outfit to kick off 2017!  Here are some things you need to know about the hottest NYE trends!

  • Go gold.  Gold and silver are two colors that come to mind when I think of NYE.  This year, gold is the color to rock! Chelsea Crockett - Velvet Shirt
  • Velvet.  Velvet is one of the cutest (and comfiest) trends this year.  Velvet shirts, velvet dresses, velvet jackets, velvet everything!  The picture on the right is both stylish and casual for the night.  You can dress it up or dress it down!
  • Glitter strobing/highlight.  If you’ve never heard of glitter strobing, it’s fun to try out for New Year’s Eve!  If you look online, you can find out how to do it yourself.  Why not add a little extra bling to celebrate the night?
  • All black everything.  All black everything is a timeless look that anyone can pull off!  Once again, this is a look you can dress up or dress down according to what you have planned!
  • Metallic.  New Year’s Eve has no limitations when it comes to your outfit.  Rock a pair of metallic pants or a metallic jacket!

Which trend are you going to rock this year?  Let me know below!

Christmas is the best holiday of the year.  Not only do you get to experience good food and good company, but you get to dress up in your most stylish holiday attire!  I always have trouble finding Chelsea Crockett - Christmas Outfitthe perfect outfit to wear for all the family get-togethers and fun festivities that come along with the day.  Depending on what you have lined up, you’ll either need a casual outfit, a formal outfit, or maybe even both!  Here are a few ideas to get the holiday fashion flowing!

Casual: The outfit on the left is one of my favorite looks this year.  Poncho coats and cardigans like the one on the left are super “in” this year.  Don’t be shy to rock a mix of red and green!  Plaid is also the perfect pattern that isn’t too over-the-top.  Pair this look with some gold accessories, a pair of heeled booties, and a maroon lip!

Formal:  First, pick what colors are appropriate for the occasion.  I would suggest reds, greens, maroon, tan, neutral colors, etc.  Keep it Christmas-oriented!  Long-sleeved high-neck shirts like the one in the featured image above are perfect to pair with a suede skirt and heels!  If you want to wear a dress, velvet is super popular this season.  Pair it with a clutch and a cute pair of boots or heels!

Which look are you going to try out this Christmas?  Share with me below! 🙂

Top 5 Things to Put on Your 2016 Christmas Wish List

I know I’m not the only one who all of a sudden forgets what I want to put on my wish list when Christmas time rolls around!  I always wait last minute to throw one together and end up forgetting what I actually want to add!  If you need a little help brainstorming what to add to your list this year (like I did), here are a few things that should be at the top!

  • Lipstick Vaults.  These are extremely in this year!  So many different brands and stores are coming out with full sets of lipstick compiled into one huge vault.  For example, NYX Cosmetics offers their own Liquid Lipstick Vault with so many different shades and colors.  Check them out!Chelsea Crockett - LED Phone Case
  • LED Selfie Phone Cases.  If you think I’m lying, see for yourself!  You can purchase selfie phone cases that have lights around the border to give your pics the perfect lighting!
  • Fitbits.  Fitbits are a great way to track your progress if you like to work out.  And if you don’t, then you could use one to get more active and set fitness goals!
  • A New Journal or Bible.  Recently, I’ve been super into journaling.  I love writing down things that come to me throughout the day or simply things that happen that I want to remember!
  • This may be a little out of the box, but a Keurig coffee maker or smoothie blender is super useful and enjoyable, especially for college students.  If you live in a dorm, getting a quick coffee maker or blender will make your mornings 10x better.  Trust me!

What are your top presents you’re asking for this year?  Let me know :)!

I love that when the leaves change, so do makeup shades. This season, burgundy is the “it” color when it comes to makeup. This hue looks great on all skin tones and isn’t too edgy. It looks great on eyes, lips, and even cheeks! Here are a few burgundy looks to try this fall.

  1. Bold lip: I love the way Lily Collins wears the look here. She pairs her bold lip with simple eye makeup to keep the look balanced. If you are more into subtle makeup, then this look is a great alternative. The eyes keep it simple while the lips make a statement.red
  2. On the eyes: Another subtle way to work burgundy into your makeup routine is on the eyes. I love Gigi’s smoky eye here. She keeps the look simple by pairing the burgundy eyes with a nude lip.red-1
  3. Go bold: Cara Delevingne rocks the bold burgundy lips and bold smoky eye flawlessly. If you want to be more bold, then go for this sort of pair! This probably isn’t a great “everyday” look, but more of a “special occasion” look.red-2

How are YOU going to rock burgundy this fall?

Fall festivities are some of the best of the entire year!  Apart from breaking out my boots and sweaters, I’m getting ready for all the bonfires and haunted houses I plan to attend!  There are so many different ways to spend your fall, so I put together a fun bucket list for you and your friends to get the most out of this season!

  • Go on a hike.  Fall is the best time of the year to go on a hike.  It’s the perfect weather to be outside.  You also get to see all of the leaves changing colors! (Plus, being active never hurts!)
  • Halloween time is the best time for a scary movie night with your BFFs! Chelsea Crockett - Halloween Treat  If you’re not into scary movies, you can always watch some classic Halloween movies such as Hocus Pocus or Halloween Town!
  • Bake, bake, bake!  There are so many festive treats to make like the picture on the right that’ll make your mouth water.
  • Carve a pumpkin (and eat the pumpkin seeds!).  Whenever my family carves pumpkins, we always salt and bake the seeds at the end.  Not only do you get a jack-o-lantern out of it but a yummy snack, too!
  • Go to a haunted house or trail.  You can’t have Halloween without a little scare!
  • Make s’mores.  If you have a bonfire, s’mores along with apple cider are a necessity!  Fun fact: even if you don’t have a bonfire, there are ways to make them using your microwave!
  • Have a fall photoshoot.  It’s so fun to dress up in sweaters and boots and take fun pictures outside with your friends!  At least it makes for a good Instagram post, right?

What else do you have on your fall bucket list? If you haven’t made one, I urge you to make the best of this season!

New York Fashion Week is the greatest week of the year!  Although I didn’t get to go, I still love looking at all the runway looks and trends.  This year, all of the designer’s showed off some of their most stylish collections ever!  Here’s a short recap of the week and how you can be up to date with this season’s hottest trends!Chelsea Crockett - NYFW Muted Orange Trend

  • Muted orange.  Obviously fall colors are always a huge “yes” during the season, but the orange shade above is a big one this fall!
  • Mismatch/patched jeans.  In a lot of the runway shows this year, designers featured jeans that had patches from other shades and materials of jeans.  It might sound odd, but they actually turned out super stylish and unique!
  • Formal Boho/festival wear.  The Boho style has been around for a while, but it’s usually more casual, festival wear.  This season, there’s more of an emphasize on formal Boho wear, such as flowy dresses, skirts, and blouses.
  • Sequins and ruffles.  You may be thinking… what?  I don’t mean huge ruffled dresses decked out in sparkly sequins.  What I do mean are simple, detailed looks with a little sparkle!

Which look or show was your favorite from NYFW?  Let me know below! 🙂

When I think of summer style, I think of white. White is such a bright, crisp, clean color and can give off a beachy, breezy vibe. Here are a few of my favorite white summer pieces to wear in the summer.

  1. LWD: Or, little white dress! I love sundresses. You will see me wearing a dress way more than shorts during the summer. They are a great way to look cute and stay cool at the same time! I am loving the halter style of top this season, so for this blog I am choosing to show you a halter style sundress. So cute and can be worn in both casual and dressy situations!white1
  2. Romper: A white romper is playful and so pretty. This romper also has the halter style top! If you don’t want to wear a sundress but shorts and a tank don’t sound appealing, then rompers are a perfect middle ground. So cute and so comfy.
  3. Off the shoulder top: To me, off the shoulder tops are so fun and flirty. They are also cool and breezy so they keep you from getting too toasty. I love this effortless, easy going look.

I love summer whites, don’t you?

Nothing’s better than homemade gift for your dad on Father’s Day. Not only is it meaningful but inexpensive, too (which at our age, saving money is a priority!). Pinterest is the perfect place to find all things DIY. Here are a few DIY gifts that are creative, simple, and perfect for any dad!

  • First off, you’ll need a card. Create your own DIY Father’s Day card! This may seem basic or overrated, but whatever your gift is will need a card to go with it. A homemade card is always meaningful and shows you took the time to make it. You can even add inside jokes or funny puns to add some humor to it!Chelsea Crockett - BBQ Basket DIY
  • If your dad loves to grill, then this DIY is perfect for you. Create a BBQ basket with everything he needs to host a BBQ! Buy an array of sauces, such as steak sauce, BBQ sauce, ketchup, etc., and place them in the basket. Then, purchase some grilling tools that he can put to use and add those to the basket. If you want to go the extra mile, buy him a gift card to somewhere where he can buy steaks, burgers, etc. for when he wants to grill!
  • The way to a man’s heart is always food. There are endless recipes online that allow you to get creative when baking your dad something! Maybe a cupcake that looks like a basketball? Or maybe cookies decked out with your dad’s favorite sport’s team!

What are you getting (or making!) your dad for Father’s Day? Share with me below!

Spring is amongst us! And with spring comes warm weather, flowers, and lots of new fashion trends! From the recent fashion weeks, I’ve witnessed trends that are about to make their mark in the upcoming season. Here are the ones you need to keep an eye out for!

  • Shoulder cutouts in shirts have come up in magazines and on fashion blogs more and more frequently. These type of shirts are perfect for spring and the warm weather approaching!Chelsea Crockett - Skirt Wrap
  • Wrapped skirts, like the picture on the right for example, are super stylish and aren’t the usual look that you’d expect for a skirt. They have a more unique look to them than just a basic skirt or dress.
  • Bright patterns and colors always make their way back into the fashion world starting in the spring. According to past fashion weeks, stripes especially will be in almost every store this season!
  • Victorian-inspired styles such as floral patterns and high-collar necklines are super cute and can bring a uniqueness to your outfit. Ruffles, too, are part of the Victorian style and are supposed to make a comeback this season!
  • Unique necklines, such as the high-collar neckline mentioned above, are fun to experiment with! An X-crossed neckline goes hand-in-hand with the shoulder cutouts trend. Check it out!

What trend will you be rocking this upcoming season? Let me know in the comments below!
