Coachella: one of the world’s largest music festivals in the history of EVER!  I was lucky enough to get to go and experience it myself last year and lemme tell ya… it was incredible!  Since I was a first-timer, I learned some things that I would and wouldn’t do again.  Here are a few Coachella do’s and don’ts!

DO’S

  • Do drink plenty of water!  Since you’ll be in the middle of a 100-degree weather desert, you’re going to get very hot, very fast.  Staying hydrated will keep you refreshed and happy!
  • Do keep your phone plenty charged.  If you ever do get separated from your friends, you’ll need to be able to find them!  You’ll also be taking plenty of pics and videos… I mean, it is Coachella!
  • Do stay well rested and well fed.  You’ll enjoy Coachella 10x more if you have a full stomach and plenty of sleep!

DON’TS

  • Don’t get lost from your friends. Chelsea Crockett - Coachella Outfit In a festival filled with thousands and thousands of people, it’s easy to get separated from your group.  That being said, it can be extremely hard to find them again, especially if your phone service isn’t the greatest.  Stay close to them or have a buddy system!
  • Don’t dress uncomfortably.  Now I know Coachella is known for the stylish festival outfits, but you can be both cute and comfy such as the picture on the right!  You’ll be outside in the sun and walking around all day so dress accordingly (especially with the right shoes!).
  • Don’t last-minute plan.  It’s one of the biggest, and not to mention most crowded, festivals of the year… PLAN AHEAD!

Coachella will be one of the best experiences of your life, hands down!  Have fun and take these do’s and don’ts into consideration!

If you’re like me, then you love finding beautiful places to explore, especially when you didn’t even know they existed!  I always scroll through Tumblr and Instagram and find the most beautiful spots that I can add to my bucket list.  Here are five that you should add to your own “must-see” list!

  • Garden of the Gods – Colorado Springs, Colorado.  If you’ve never been, this place is amazing!  It’s filled with huge rocks and trees surrounded by the beautiful Rocky Mountains.  If you want a good photo op, then this is the spot for you!
  • Tamanawas Falls – Mt. Hood National Forest, Oregon.  If you want to submerge yourself in nature, visit this jaw-dropping waterfall.  It’s a big of a trek to get there, but it’s so worth it!Chelsea Crockett - Fort Jefferson
  • Fugitive Beach – Rolla, Missouri.  This place isn’t the most well-known in the country, but where I’m from, it’s a go-to hotspot!  People around the St. Louis area love to go there to hang with friends and even cliff jump!
  • Blue Lakes – San Juan Mountain, Colorado.  You’d never think that this blue of water actually exists in Colorado, but you’d be surprised at how vibrant the water is!  It’s so pretty and the mountains are an added perk.
  • Fort Jefferson – Key West, Florida.  Fort Jefferson is a historic landmark that’s been around for decades and is now a beautiful tourist destination!  Look at the picture to the right to see for yourself!

Which spots do you want to visit?  Share with me in the comments below!

Our world is a beautiful, wonderful place that is meant to be traveled and explored. That being said, it is also a dangerous place to travel for a woman traveling solo. When I travel I take a parent with me, but I know a few of my friends that have traveled solo or with another girl friend. Traveling solo can mean a ton of freedom because the only person you have to worry about is yourself! But, there are a few things girls need to know before they go off and travel by themselves, just for safety reasons. Here are a few of the super-important ones.

  1. Fill your family in: Before you leave, give your family back home your itinerary. Let them know what your travel schedule is, where you will be staying, and other such info in case they need to get in touch with you or if something goes wrong.
  2. Take photos of important docs: Keep photos of your passport, ids, ticket numbers, and reservations with you or in the cloud online so you always have access to them in a crunch.International-travel-map-passport-and-itinerary
  3. Pack light: This is so that criminals are less likely to rob you. If you are towing a large suitcase with a Coach purse on your arm, you are more likely to draw a robber’s attention. Small bags are also easier to get around with.
  4. Don’t keep your money in one place: Keep some cash and a credit card on you, and then keep another set in your bag, and then another at the place you are staying just to be safe.
  5. Don’t wear both headphones: Stay alert by only wearing one headphone. If you have both in you are less likely to hear if anything sketchy is going on around you.
  6. Bring a selfie stick!: Solo travel means no one is there to take your picture on a moment’s notice. That is the beauty of selfie sticks! Plus, it means you don’t have to hand your camera to a total stranger to take a pic of you.

And, above all, have fun! Just have a safe time while doing it. 🙂

XOXO, Chels

If you follow me on any social media accounts, you’ve probably noticed that I travel a lot!  Although I hit up the airport quite frequently, it’s easy to forget about all the rules and regulations, or leave an important item at home.  I recently came across some great airport hacks that I turned into a list to keep me on track during all my ventures.  Keep these amazing hacks in mind during your next airport adventure! Chelsea Crockett- airport bag for liquids

  • Many airports have started requiring small zip lock bags to hold all of your carry-on liquids. Keep multiple baggies in your purse and carry-on for the future!  I’ve forgotten this step many times!
  • I always get thirsty on a plane, but don’t feel like buying a $7.00 water bottle! Throw an empty water bottle into your carry on and fill it up when you see a water fountain.  If you’re a frequent traveler like me, you’ll save lots of money!
  • Bring your own snack! If they aren’t already opened, they’re good to go!
  • In the winter I always worry about my luggage being overweight, since winter clothes are so much heavier! Wear your heaviest items, like a big coat, tall boats, and jeans on the plane!  This way, you’ll save some extra weight for a little shopping! 😉 haha.
  • Collect unused toiletries from the hotel. They’re great for carry-ons!
  • Did you know that your birthday, an anniversary, or even traveling alone can give you free perks?! Just let someone working for the airlines know and you may get upgraded, get a free snack, or get a little gift.  It’s worth a try!
  • If you’re flying into a country without data, download the Google maps offline app so you’re never stranded!
  • Airports are one of the easiest places to catch germs. Keep hand sanitizer or wet wipes on hand!

Happy travels!

A lot of you have been commenting on my Hawaii pictures asking where I got my bikinis from!  I recently discovered Triangl swimwear and am OBSESSED!  Triangl is an Australian brand for girls who love adventure!  The bikinis are made of neoprene, the same material made for wetsuits, so they’re perfect for a wet’n’wild beach adventure!  It’s time to hit the beach!  Chelsea Crockett- Triangl Bikinis

On the website, you pick out each bikini by set.  There are triangle, bandeau, and balconnet style tops, as well as standard and tie bikini bottoms!  Their newest crochet style is absolutely amazing!  While the bikinis may seem expensive, they’re such great quality and will last a long time!  Check out the website and comment below your favorite bikini style!  Happy browsing!
