Sometimes when we pray and ask God for things we expect him to answer our prayers right away. But, he doesn’t always answer us the way we want him to or thought he would. We can be sure, though, that God will answer our prayers in one of 3 ways:
- Yes: This is the answer we want to hear the most. We want God to say “yes” to the things we ask from him.
- Not Yet: This is probably the hardest answer to hear. It is hard to be patient and wait for things that you want to happen. But, as you have probably heard a million times, good things come to those who wait.
- I have something better in mind: In this situation, God asks us to let go of what we think is best and open our hearts for what he has in store for us. This can be painful, to let something go that we have wanted so badly, but it is a comfort to know that God has something even better in mind for you!
When you pray and ask God for things, keep these answers in mind. God may not answer you in the way you wanted him to or in the time frame that you were hoping for, but His ways are better than our ways!
