This recipe for mini caramel apples was too cute to resist! And with autumn right around the corner, why not share a fall-inspired recipe? It’s pretty simple and perfect for a bonfire or Halloween party! Here’s what you need to get started:

First and foremost, you’ll need these ingredients: about 5 of your favorite kind of apples (this can change depending on the amount of people you’ll be serving), caramel (this recipe calls for a pack of the Kraft caramels), and nuts, which are totally optional! You’ll also need a melon baller and some wax paper to lay the caramel apples on at the end.Chelsea Crockett - Mini Caramel Apples

Start by taking the melon baller and scooping out spheres of the apple. Side note: make sure the apples are room temperature. This will help the caramel stick at the end. Next, you have to make your caramel. There are several ways of doing this, just pick your favorite online recipe! Get your wax paper ready and spray it with cooking oil. Punch in sucker sticks into each ball and dip them into the caramel. Make sure the caramel is chilled so it’s slightly thick. This way it won’t slide off as soon as they start to cool.  (This is where you add the nuts if you would like!) Also, leave them sitting out to cool instead of putting them in the fridge. Lastly, enjoy!

Love, Chelsea

Candy corn. It’s EVERYWHERE! Luckily, I am somewhat of an addict so it doesn’t bother me one bit. In fact, I embrace it, and try to make everything I can with it! Here are some candy corn inspired milk shakes that are sure to rock your world.

Ingredients:
– 1 quart vanilla ice creamCandy-Corn1-jpg
– 1 quart orange sherbet
– Whipped cream or Cool Whip

  • Yellow Food Coloring
  • Black yellow & orange sprinkles

Let the vanilla ice cream soften for about 25 minutes outside of the freezer. After it is softened take 1/3 of the ice cream and put it into a bowl. Put the ice cream back in the freezer. Add yellow food coloring to the ice cream in the bowl until you have the color you want. Mix it well. Take your orange sherbet out of the freezer to allow it to start softening. Get out the glasses you will be serving your milk shakes in, whether it is mason jars or glass drinking glasses, and spoon yellow ice cream into the bottoms, filling the cups about 1/3 full. After smoothing out the top as evenly as you can, wipe down the inside of the cups with a paper towel to remove ice cream streaks. Place your cups in the freezer for about 5-10 minutes to let the layer harden a little. Take your vanilla ice cream out of the freezer again to allow it to start softening. Remove the cups from the freezer and carefully spoon in the orange sherbet, layering it on top of the yellow and filling the cups about 2/3 full. Again, smooth out the top. Wipe the excess on the inside of the cups with a paper towel. Place the cups back in the freezer for 5-10 minutes. Remove the cups from the freezer and add the last layer of vanilla ice cream, filling the cups with 1/2 inch left at the top of the cup. Smooth out the tops again. If you want you can top them off with some whipped cream and sprinkles! Keep them in the freezer until you serve them.

They’re sure to be a hit at every Halloween party on the block!

It’s my favorite time of the year!  Falling leaves, cooler temperatures, and starlit nights by the campfire are something we all look forward to.  There’s nothing better on a chilly night than making s’mores by the fire.  While melting marshmallows on a stick and putting them on a piece of chocolate between two graham crackers is divine…..there are other ways to enjoy s’mores too!

Chelsea Crockett - Smores BarIf a campfire isn’t available, another way to satisfy that s’more taste is with s’more bars like the ones on the left! They are gooey and rich and can be made ahead of an event.  You can google s’more bar recipes and find all different kinds.  If you keep them in an airtight container, they stay moist and last for days.

A healthier twist on s’mores is s’more candied apples.  Some people like that graham cracker taste but want to add some nutrition to their bite. In that case, s’more candy apples are the answer.  You can look up the exact recipe but basically it’s a Granny Smith apple on a stick dipped in marshmallow, chocolate, and graham cracker crumbles!  YUM!

Well, I hope that solves your sweet tooth for s’mores!  Let me know your favorite!

My favorite season is finally in full swing!  We have fall flowers and pumpkins decorating the outside of our house.  I love building a fire outside and having a good group of people over to enjoy it with me.  Fall is also a time to celebrate Halloween (obviously!).  At our house, Halloween is just a time to dress up, play pranks, and scare each other.  It’s all in fun!

While I’m sure some of you are planning a costume party for Halloween, others may have haunted houses or trails on their minds.  It’s both frightening and entertaining to get your friends together and go to a local haunted house Chelsea Crockett - Fright Festor trail.  If you’re looking for ideas, you can google local hauntings in your area.  Another great place to go for a scare is your closest theme park.  Places like Six Flags fill their theme park with ghouls, ghosts, goblins, and more.  They have haunted hayrides, houses, and scary people roaming the grounds.  It’s always exciting to go with friends…plus if you like a thrill, you can hit the roller coasters! If you live near a big city, you can often find famous local haunted houses that are some of the best in the country! For example, St. Louis is home of the Darkness and Creepy World! Both equally fun and terrifying :).

So, what are you waiting for?  Grab some friends this weekend and enjoy the cool air and haunted activities in your area!

Happy fall! – Chels

When seasons change, so do wardrobes… and when wardrobes change, you have to adjust what colors make your autumn looks pop! Along with cute accessories and a stylish pair of boots, you have to make sure your makeup works to complete your outfit. The perfect way to do that is with a good lipstick to top off your full appearance!

Because bright lipsticks are always a yes, whenever you have the excuse to wear one, DO! Since fall is the time to rock your oranges, don’t be afraid to. For a nice dinner or a Halloween party, break out the orange. If you can pull off the dark red lips, try them out as well! You can’t go wrong with a little bit of color :)!Chelsea Crockett - Orange Lipsticks

Although a pop of color is fun every once and a while, toning it down with neutral shades is gorgeous yet casual. My favorite look is topping a light pink lipstick with gloss. Apply your lipstick then grab a clear gloss that’ll add some shine to your lips! (Beauty secret: add some white eye shadow or concealer to the middle crease above your upper lip. Then apply your lipstick/gloss. It makes your lips look bigger and plumper!)

Tweet me your favorite shades to rock during the fall so I can try them out :)!

Bonfires, caramel apples, and pumpkin spice lattes are some of the best parts of fall… but you can’t forget the cute dates and meet-ups with your adorable crush! Sometimes, good dates can be hard to come up with, especially when all you think there is to do is watch a movie or go to eat! Here are a few good ideas to suggest to your crush next time you’re stuck at home on a Saturday night.

  • Haunted house/hayride. Suggest going to a nearby haunted house or hayride! You could even get a group of friends together and all go to one for the night. Then, after your thrill is over, have a little bonfire at your house! Who doesn’t like s’mores?
  • Apple picking.  If you live close to an orchard, don’t be afraid to take your date apple picking! Then, after you get some tasty red apples, take them home and make a delicious apple pie :).Chelsea Crockett - Pumpkin Carving
  • Pumpkin carving contest. Maybe while you’re out picking apples, you can find a close by pumpkin patch! Find the biggest pumpkin you can and have a carving contest with your crush when you get home. Being a little competitive in a relationship can be fun every once and a while!
  • Hiking. Go outside and explore for a while! Spending the whole day with nature and your crush is perfect in autumn weather.
  • Volunteer together. You might be a little confused by this one, but it can actually be really fun! Raking leaves or volunteering at shelters would not only be extremely helpful, but great time for bonding with your crush! It’ll help your own relationship while helping others in the process!

I recently shared an article with you about how to use apples for beauty remedies.  Now, I want to talk to you about one of my favorite apple desserts and how you can make them!  We love apples at our house and with fall just around the corner, I know that means fresh caramel apples will be in our kitchen!  What’s a bonfire without s’mores and caramel apples!?  Therefore, I thought it would be fun to share a caramel apple recipe with you!Chelsea Crockett - Caramel ApplesFirst you need to cook 1 1/2 cups of sugar and 1/2 cup of water in a saucepan over medium heat.  Be sure to swirl until golden brown.  Remove from heat and stir in 1/4 cup of cream, 1/4 teaspoon vanilla, and 1/4 teaspoon of salt.  Transfer to a bowl that is tall and good for dipping apples and let the ingredients cool slightly!  Insert a wooden stick into four apples and dip them into the caramel, one at a time.  Be sure to set them on parchment paper after dipping.  Then, let them harden by placing in the refrigerator if needed. You can also dip them in nuts, Oreos, M&M’s etc.! It’s quick, easy, and delicious!

There you have it….a perfect treat for bonfires, hayrides, Halloween parties, etc.  What better way to kick off fall then to treat yourself and your friends to some homemade caramel apples!  Yum!

Enjoy! – Chelsea

Hey insiders!

It’s finally bonfire weather, which means big sweaters, s’mores, and memories made with your closest friends.  The weather’s just a little chilly, allowing you to bundle up by the fire and enjoy some apple cider.  Whether you’re going to a bonfire or hosting one, you’re going to need an outfit that’s going to be on fire (not literallyWink).

If the bonfire bash you’re attending is just a small get-together with friends, putting a lot of thought into your outfit isn’t needed.  A big sweatshirt and sweatpants is all you need to keep you warm and comfy while roasting marshmallows.Chelsea Crockett - Over-Sized Sweater Look

If you’re attending more of a party/bonfire, you’ll need a fashionable, yet warm, autumn outfit to wear.  Since over-sized sweaters are a huge trend in the fashion world, they’re perfect to throw on with your favorite pair of leggings.  Pair this with your favorite boots and you’re set.  I prefer combat boots because, in addition to keeping your toes warm, they’re also stylish and edgy.  If you want to accessorize, try wearing a scarf and purse to match.  Even throw on a beanie to make your look trendier.

Of course, you can always take the even dressier route.  Denim and plaid are both two styles that are hot in Hollywood right now.  If you choose to wear either of these patterns, try rocking a long-sleeved button up.  Instead of buttoning it up, leave it open and show off your favorite shirt or V-neck.  As for pants, simply wearing jeans or leggings will work just fine.

Good luck and have fun!

Guide to Fall Colors

             Hey girls!

Just as trends come and go, so do colors, and knowing when to break them out is tough.  For example, wearing white shoes, pants, or handbags after Labor Day and before Memorial Day is a fashion “don’t.”  So, what colors pop during autumn?  Keep reading to find out!

You probably guessed it, but what color is better to sport during fall than orange?  Wearing an orange shirt and pairing it with neutral colored shoes and a cute handbag is a perfect casual outfit for a day at the mall.  Not a fan of orange?  Try out red or yellow.  These shades are similar to orange aChelsea Crockett - Fall Outfit - Fall Colorsnd still give off an autumn feel.

Another color that’s a fall favorite is chocolate brown.  The perfect brown accessory is a purse.  This matches almost any outfit you want to throw on.  It complements orange, red, and yellow perfectly, yet doesn’t take the focus away from your bright autumn shades.

As I’ve stated before, plaid is back!  Although it’s a pattern, not a color, plaid has made a comeback and looks great as an oversized button-up.  Rock this look with leggings and boots or flats.

If you’re one who follows the Labor Day rule, then you’ll need a white substitute.  Cream, ivory, nude, or even a light, rosy pink will do the job.  These colors can fill in for your white accessories you put away for fall.

                                                Hope this helped! – Chels

            Hello lovelies!

One of my favorite things about autumn is the fun that comes with Halloween.  You can find pumpkins and jack-o-lanterns on almost every street.  Aside from being perfect decorations for the season, carving and decorating pumpkins is a fun activity no matter what age you are!  Whether you’re carving for fun or for a decorating competition, you’re going to need unique thoughts to make your pumpkin your own!

A great idea I know girls wilChelsea Crockett - Glitter Pumpkinl love is to glitter-up your pumpkins.  Lay out a few pieces of newspaper and set out your pumpkin.  The best way to do this is to purchase a can of spray adhesive.  Spray your preferred deign on your pumpkin.  While it’s still wet, sprinkle whatever color glitter you want on the glue.  It should turn out girly, sparkly, and attention-catching!

Chelsea Crockett - Fretwork PumpkinOne idea that’s not just for the ladies, is a fretwork patterned jack-o-lantern.  An example of this, is the picture on the left.  After scooping out the seeds and insides of the pumpkin, you will be ready to go. To begin this design, take a thick piece of tape and make a ring around your pumpkin.  You’ll need to have a drill with two different sized drill bits, one large and one small.  Then, drill rows of circles around the tape creating a design you think looks best!  When your design is complete, place a votive candle inside the pumpkin and light it.

Voila!  You have a polka dotted, glowing jack-o-lantern!

I hope these ideas gave you a little originality this fall.  I can’t wait to see how yours all turned out!

Hey insiders!

Since fall’s almost here, it’s time to break out your pants and pack up your shorts.  As autumn’s cool months roll in, you’ll be seeing everything from patterned leggings to colorful jeans.

First, I want to talk all about jeans.  Not just denim, but solids, stripes, polka dots, and lots more.  Solid colored jeans are my favorite because they’re super cute, but still extremely casual.  You can wear these to school without being too “dressed up” but still catch other’s attention with your fashionable outfitWink.  Pair them with a matching scarf and you’re set!  Check them out here:http://tiny.cc/ColoredJeans!Chelsea Crockett - Patterned Jeans

Another popular trend that I see repeat almost every fall, is patterned jeans.  I love, love, love fun patterns and colors so you can guess I own a pair or two of these!  A few hot patterns are floral, striped, plaid, and printed.  Some are extra creative and add studs or even lace!

Of course, I can’t forget leggings.  One of my favorite things about fall are big, over-sized sweaters.  Wearing a cute pair of leggings is a great idea to pair with those comfy sweaters.  Just like jeans, you can find solid colored or printed leggings!  They even have galaxy and cross printed ones!

Hope this gives you a little help to prepare for fall!

                                                            Love, Chels
