Beauty takes time. As a good friend of mine always says, beauty isn’t for sissies! It feels like there isn’t enough time in the day to get everything done that I need to do, let alone enough time to get all of my beauty prep in! In my book, the best kind of beauty treatments are the ones you can do in your sleep! Here are a few examples of treatments that make you the beauty queen you are, and all you have to do is catch some zzzzzzzzzz’s.

  1. Shrink a pimple: If you have a pesky pimple or two, put a small dab of toothpaste onto it and let it sit overnight. It dries it out!
  2. Moisturize: Hydrate your skin with an overnight mask to heal and nourish dry skin. You can also use a humidifier to help stop the dry air from sucking the moisture from your skin while you sleep!beauty sleep 1
  3. Heal your hair: Coconut oil works miracles. Seriously. Smooth some on your strands and leave it on overnight. Cover your pillow with a towel so the oil doesn’t soak into your pillow. Be ready to wake up with the healthies hair you’ve ever had!
  4. Wavy hair: Want to wake up with wavy hair? There are tons of no-heat curl methods to try! Do a quick YouTube search and find one that works for you. These methods save your hair a ton of damage, AND they take barely any time at all! Your hair gets styled as you sleep.

Now you know why they call it “beauty sleep”!

Odds are, you are a busy girl. You don’t have time to spend hours trying to get your skin squeaky clean. You barely have time to grab your face wash and scrub it on in the morning! Here are a few ways to maintain clear skin while running short on time.images (11)

  1. Eat skin-healthy foods: Eating the right foods is at the root of healthy skin. Processed foods are no good for your skin, plus they will bloat you! Eat lots of healthy foods to help hydrate your skin and keep it protected.
  2. Sleep: Being sleep deprived can cause your skin to become dehydrated. It can also cause premature aging! Want bright, healthy skin? Get those ZZZZ’s!
  3. Simplify your routine: If you don’t have time to cleanse, exfoliate, scrub, and moisturize every morning, that is totally okay! None of us do! If you don’t have time to do a million and one things to your face every day, then don’t sweat it! You can do these things when you have time. No worries!

If you are a busy bee, it doesn’t mean you have to neglect your skin care!

Having clear, healthy skin is an automatic self-esteem booster!  Unfortunately, maintaining clear skin can be a challenge.  It’s almost impossible to keep zits off our faces!!  Luckily, there are things you can do in your everyday life to keep pimples away and clear skin in the forefront.

  1. Establish a daily morning and night routine. This routine should consist of a complete face wash followed with moisturizer.
  2. Keep greasy, oily foods to a minimum. Your skin reacts by producing zits when you consume these types of foods.
  3. Make sure to get 7-8 hours of sleep every night! “Beauty rest” is the real deal!
  4. Try incorporating healthy skin foods into your diet like fish, avocados, pomegranates, and tomatoes.Chelsea Crockett- eat healthy for your skin
  5. Go without makeup! Whenever you’re having a lazy day, take a break from makeup and never wear it to sleep. Your skin needs to breathe every once in a while.
  6. Try not to touch your face. Your hands carry dirt and oil that should stay off your face!
  7. Always wear sunscreen. This will keep your skin looking youthful longer.
  8. Exfoliate a few times a week! Your skin needs a good deep cleaning every so often.
  9. Never over wash or over moisturize your face. Your skin creates natural oils that are healthy for the skin. If you are constantly washing them off, then your skin will react by creating more oil. Yuck!

If you live by these skin conscious rules, then you’ll be on the right track to clear, healthy skin all the time!

Happy summer Insiders,

                If you’re like me you, then love late summer nights.  Hanging out with my girlfriends, making videos, and watching movies are just a few things that keep me up all night.  It’s always a great time, but I started losing more and more sleep.  I started looking into the benefits of sleep and now force myself to sleep more.  It’s SO good for you!!  The term “beauty sleep” is actually a real thing.  Getting 8-9 hours of sleep a night reduces dark circles under your eyes and reduces wrinkles.  Many studies also suggest that you will live longer.  Who doesn’t want that?!  As well as looking more beautiful and living longer, getting enough sleep can improve memory and creativity.  This can help with school or making YouTube videos, like meLaughingChelsea Crockett- sleep.  If you’re an athlete, it can help with your performance level.  If you’re not happy with your game, then get some sleep!  Along with all of these amazing benefits, getting enough sleep can help you maintain a healthy weight.  You’ll be more beautiful, fit, and have more attention with a good night of sleep.
