2 Timothy 4:17 says “But the Lord stood by me and gave me strength.” Have you ever felt like no one had your back and you were alone? Going to college in a new state, I was afraid that I would have a hard time making friends, fitting in and feeling timat home. This verse tells us that we never have to feel like that, because God has our back, always.

In situations where I feel like my faith is being attacked or I am being attacked personally, I always try to remember that the Lord is standing by me and strengthening me. Being on YouTube, I can read the comments on my videos, and sometimes they are not the sweetest words. Don’t get me wrong, there are way more sweet, nice comments and supporters than there are negative Nancy’s. But, sometimes those negative comments can overshadow all of the good. That is when I remember that the Lord with with me and is strengthening me. When you feel like you are alone in a situation, when you feel attacked or belittled, lonely, or you just feel weak and helpless, just remember that the Lord is always by your side, strengthening you.

You are never alone, and you never have to feel weak or helpless! God has your back, always.

Bad Company Ruins Good Morals

Have you ever heard the phrase “you are who you hang out with”? This phrase comes from 1 Corinthians 15:33 which says “bad company ruins good morals.” What does this mean and why should it mean anything to you?

Ill tell ya why. This is one of the most important verses for our age group to hear. Who you hang out with has a huge impact on your life. I cannot stress this enough. HUGE impact. I have had the privilege of being surrounded with many friends that share the same beliefs and morals as me, and I cannot tell you what a positive impact that has had on my life. It has motivated me to strive to serve others and God, and honor Him with my actions and words and life. As I get ready to move on to college and make new friends I am FullSizeRender (89)realizing the importance of the friends I will make. High school and college are such pivotal times in our lives. They set us up for our future and who we will become. When you are surrounded by good company and people that share the same beliefs with you, it is easy to continue to live the life you know you should be living. When you hang out with people who do not share the same morals as you, and maybe don’t understand why you believe the way you do, it can have a serious impact on your life. I’m not saying not to have friends who don’t believe the way you do, I am saying to limit your time with them. Be smart with the situations you are in with them. You can be a witness to them, but they can also be a negative influence on you. It is easy to go with the flow and do what everyone else is doing, even when you know it is wrong, because so many other people are saying it is okay. This is why the verse says that bad company corrupts good morals. Your faith needs to be protected and nurtured, and that is what happens when you hang out with people that share your beliefs.

Be smart with who you hang out with, because it can impact the person you become.

These days everybody has an opinion on how you should live your life. The only opinion that matters in MY life is that of the Lord. Psalm 37:5 says “Commit your way to the Lord; trust in Him and He will act.” What does this verse mean?m

It means that once you commit your life and your “ways” to the Lord, you can trust in Him to guide your life. Once you give your heart to Him and commit to serving Him and living for Him, he will take your future in His hands and mold it into something you cannot even imagine. I can honestly say that giving my heart and my life to God has been the best thing to ever happen to me. Trusting that he has my future in His hands and has plans to help me prosper and thrive is so encouraging. He has already blessed my life with so many wonderful opportunities, and in everything He gives me I try to shine for Him. I have committed my life to Him and trust in His plans, so I know He will continue to guide my life. It may not always be easy to commit to the Lord, but I promise you it is worth it. Nothing good in this life comes easy.

If you do not know Jesus I pray that you would seek Him. He has big plans for you, girl!

What does it mean to “Let go and let God”?

When I hear this phrase, one Bible verse immediately comes to mind. It is Matthew 6:34, which says “Therefore do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.” Another is Jeremiah 29:11. “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the Lord, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future.” These two verses encompass what it means to “let go and let God.” They show us that we can let go of our worries and stresses because God let-go-let-god-smallknows the plans He has for your future, and they are plans to give you success and prosperity! How great is it to know that we have no need to worry about our future, because God has it all under control? Leave the stress to Him. Give your worries to Him. Cast your cares and anxiety on Him, because He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7)! Sometimes I get caught up in my worries and stresses and start to feel overwhelmed and bogged down. Then I remember that I need to let go of all of that and give it to God, because His plans are greater than mine. He’s got this!

I hope you can find comfort in this just like I can.

What Does The Bible Say About Cursing?

I grew up in a household where cussing pretty much never happened. I always assumed it had something to do with our religion, but I never knew exactly why we didn’t cuss. As I grew up, my friends started using curse words more and more, and in high school, almost everyone uses curse words pretty frequently. As I got to be around it more and more, it became harder and harder to not cuss, just because when you are surrounded by it, it is easy to pick up on it. I have had people notice that I don’t cuss, and they ask me about it. I have also had people ask me what Christians really think about cussing because they know about my Faith. I wanted to be able to answer them wisely, so I did some research. If you have ever wondered what the Bible says about cussing, because I sure did, here is what I found:

  1. Colossians 3:8- But now you must put them all away: anger, wrath, malice, slander, and obscene talk from your mouth.
  2. Ephesians 4:29- Let no corrupting talk come out of your mouths, but only such as is good for building up, as fits the occasion, that it may give grace to those who hear.wpid-Photo-20151130090532476
  3. Psalm 34:13-14- Keep your tongue from evil and your lips from speaking deceit. Turn away from evil and do good; seek peace and pursue it.
  4. Psalm 141:3- Set a guard, OLord, over my mouth; keep watch over the door of my lips!
  5. Proverbs 21:23-Whoever keeps his mouth and his tongue keeps himself out of trouble.

The Bible pretty much says that if the words out of your mouth are angry, full of wrath, obscene, evil, deceitful, and can create trouble (all things cuss words are, pretty much), then they should not be spoken. Guard your words, a lot of people will look to you to see how you act and what you say! You are representing Christ! Make Him look good.

In my quiet time with God I recently ran across a verse that really spoke to me. The verse is Proverbs 16:9 and it says “People can plan what they want to do, but it is the Lord who guides their steps.” Let me tell you why this verse struck a cord with me.

I like to plan things out. I know I’m not the only one out there who likes to have a plan before going into proverbsanything, and likes to know what she has to do next. I like planning life out! It makes me feel in control. You know what the problem with that is? It is that I am not the one that is in control, GOD is. No matter how many life plans I make, or how hard I try to plan for the future and plan my future out, God is the one who has the ultimate say in how my life goes. I can plan all I want! I can take a piece of paper and write down what I want my life to look like in 5 years and make all the plans my heart desires. But it is God who determines your steps, and where life takes you. Pray to Him about your desires for your life. If they are His desires for you, too, He will see them through! He will guide your steps and will take your life down the path that He desires. That is such a comfort to me, because it lets me know that I do not need to worry about how my life will go, I just need to trust in God and seek Him and he will lead me where He wants me.

I pray that you trust God with your future as well. He can do such amazing things in your life if you invite Him in!

“That is SO goals” ,“Omg GOALS!”, “They are total relationship goals.” How many times a day to we hear people say these phrases? To me, these words seem trivial. Is your goal to really have a relationship like that person? They may wish they had a relationship like yours. Instead of setting minute goals such as the ones the world tells us are worth our time and effort, I say we focus on one daily goal: to start, stay, and end with Jesus.

  1. Start with Jesus: Morning time alone with God is crutial to maintaining a healthy relationship with Him. If it means setting your alarm 10 minutes earlier so you can read your Bible or a short devotional when you get up in the morning, then do it. You will feel so much better, more prepared, and encouraged going into the day after spending time with God!d8e146298932786e62eabfa869fc76f5
  2. Stay with Jesus: During the day, send up little prayers to God when He crosses your mind. Are you worried about something? Pray about it. Stressed? Pray about it. Also, throughout your day, make sure you are acting and presenting yourself to others in a way that glorifies God and brings attention to Him by setting a positive example for your peers.
  3. End with Jesus: If this means a prayer right before you go to bed or sitting around the table with family at the end of the day and praying as a family, make sure you close out the day by spending time with the One who gave the day to you in the first place. Confess your sins to him and ask forgiveness, then pray that He would work through you in the days to come.

Start, stay, and end with Jesus every day. Your life will never be the same!

Growing up a Christian girl, I always heard that women should strive to be “Proverbs 31 women.” What is Proverbs 31? It outlines what a woman of God should strive to be. It is a pretty long verse packed with a lot of great advice, and it can be pretty intimidating! I am going to break the verse down to help explain it to both you and myself! We can work on being Proverbs 31 women together.

Proverbs 31:15: She rises also while it is still night and gives food to her household and portions to her maidens.

  • What it means to us: Get up early enough to spend time with God. This helps prepare yourself for the day ahead.Proverbs-31

Proverbs 31:16: She considers a field and buys it; From her earnings she plants a vineyard.

  • What this means to us: Spend your money wisely! Don’t waste it all on clothes and material things. Use it wisely and to further the Kingdom of God.

Proverbs 31:17: She girds herself with strength and makes her arms strong.

  • What this means to us: Keep yourself physically strong and healthy, but also spiritually healthy.

Proverbs 31:20: She extends her hand to the poor, and she stretches out her hands to the needy

  • What this means to us: Have a servant’s heart and give your time and money to others.

Proverbs 31:25: Strength and dignity are her clothing, and she smiles at the future.

  • What this means to us: Have a positive attitude and be optimistic about the future!

Proverbs 31:27: She looks well to the ways of her household, and does not eat the bread of idleness.

  • What this means to us: Keep your stuff clean! AKA your room, car etc. Don’t be lazy!

Proverbs 31:26:  She opens her mouth in wisdom, and the teaching of kindness is on her tongue.

  • What this means to us: Don’t gossip, encourage others with your words!

Proverbs 31:13: She looks for wool and flax and works with her hands in delight.

  • What this means to us: Work hard without complaining.

Proverbs 31:22:  She makes coverings for herself; her clothing is fine linen and purple.

  • What this means to us: Take care of your appearance.

Proverbs 31:30: Charm is deceitful and beauty is vain, but a woman who fears the LORD, she shall be praised.

  • What this means to us: Live in a way that honors God and take care of your heart and spiritual life!

Being a Proverbs 31 woman is a challenge, but is one I am willing to accept!
