The craze of wanting to be skinny has taken a new toll on our generation.  Everywhere you look you see models showing off their infamous thigh gap.  I use the word infamous, because the thigh gap has gone from something one admired to a total obsession amongst girls.  It’s even starting to drive young girls to starvation.  It’s time to crack down on the thigh gap and why we need to stop worrying about it.Chelsea Crockett- thigh gap

The thing gap isn’t something one can just achieve; it actually has something to do with body structure.  If you’re made with wide hip bones and a slender frame, then you are destined to have a thigh gap since your legs are placed further apart.  If your legs were built closer together, then no matter how much you diet or exercise, you probably won’t ever have a thigh gap; and THAT’S OKAY!!!

All of us girls need to stop worrying so much about being skinny, but rather healthy.  Never harm your body to achieve something so irrelevant.  Stop picking out things you hate about your body and start loving it!  It’s time to kick the thigh gap to the curb!

  4. Biotin: By promoting healthy growth, biotin is the miracle vitamin for hair and nails!

If you are one who suffers from dry skin, you already know how annoying and unpleasant it can be. Whenever I notice it starting to appear on my body, I sometimes get self-conscious and want to hide it as much as I can! There are several ways you can beat dry skin and get rid of it. Below are a few of my favorites!

During the summer, we tend to dry our skin out by laying in the sun or swimming daily. Obviously, you can eliminate most of your dry skin by simply moisturizing with lotion. But over-scented lotions can sometimes dry your skin out even more; so, be careful with what you’re applying to your skin. Also, keep a healthy, balanced diet. By eating your daily fruits and vegetables, you’re getting the vitamins and nutrients your body needs to keep your skin hydrated.

Chelsea Crockett - Avocado Face MaskExfoliating is a big part in getting rid of dead skin AKA dry skin! Different exfoliating scrubs will do the job just fine as long as you apply it gently. Too rough of a scrub could end up hurting your skin instead of actually helping it! If you don’t have any scrubs at home, apply Vaseline! Other home remedies that are a little bizarre, are adding bananas or avocados mixtures to your dry patches. There are many recipes online that say what to include in your homemade mixture. Pick your favorite and go from there!

Ah vacation!  It’s the perfect time to relax, eat large amounts of food, lie in the sun for hours, and become the definition of a “beach bum”.  Even though you’re taking a break from real life, this doesn’t mean you should take a break from your mind and body.  Of course, this is all part of the fun, but it’s important to get up and moving during your vacation!  Check out a few simple ways to exercise while on vacation!Chelsea Crockett- hiking

  • Jog or walk the beach in the morning! The beautiful scenery will keep you wanting more, while each step in the sand works your calf muscles. Plus, if you get sweaty just jump into the water!
  • If you’re near the mountains, go for a hike or a long bike ride!
  • Try picking up a new sport like surfing, paddle boarding, or kayaking.
  • Who said you shouldn’t exercise your mind on vacation?! Try putting your phone away and reading a book or playing a game of Sudoku.
  • Find the nearest water park or amusement park! You won’t even realize how much you’re walking!
  • Hit your hotel or resort gym. Try out all of their fancy workout equipment!

Next time you take a vacation, challenge yourself to be as active as possible.  You’ll come back from vacation feeling refreshed!
