Contouring is the biggest fad in the makeup industry right now!  Basically, it’s highlighting and bronzing key parts of your face to either make them stand out or be covered up.  It’s a great way to make your face look flawless.  While contouring can make you look radiant, knowing how to do it is key.  It can look quite “clown-like” if done incorrectly.  Check out how to contour the most important features of your face! Chelsea Crockett- contouring cheek bones

What you’ll need:

Contouring palette (light and dark)

Light eye shadow

Beauty Blender

Nose: For the effect of a slimmed down nose, place the dark color along the outside bridges of your nose and the light color along the top.

Cheek bones:   For the look of super-model high cheek bones, suck in your cheeks and apply the dark color into the sunken in area.  Add the lighter color to the cheek bones themselves.

Eyes:  To make your eyes pop, apply a light, shimmery eye shadow to the entire lid and the dark color along the bone above the lid.

The most important part of contouring comes last: blending.  When applying the light and dark colors, just put a stripe across each area.  Then, blend both colors together so no lines are visible.  The result?  A picture perfect face!

Enjoy experimenting with makeup!

Hello Ladies,

Highlighting has become one of the biggest beauty crazes this year; and I have to admit, I love it!  Learning where to highlight your face can make the world of a difference.  It makes your face brighter and more awake.  It’s especially great when you feel worn and tired.  Check out the perfect spots to highlight and what you should use for the perfect glow.

One of my favorite products to use when I highlight my face is Benefit’s “Watt’s Up” soft focus highlighter.  It doesn’t cover your face in glitter, just gives it a hint of shimmer.  It’s a stick that you can rub on certain parts of your face and rub in with the sponge attached to the other end.  Although it can be quite expensive, it’s worth it!  If you don’t feel like spending a lot of money, then a light gold or white shimmery cream eye shadow works just as well. Chelsea Crockett- Benefit Watt's Up

Start by highlighting your eyes.  To wake up tired eyes, dab a small amount in the inner corner of your eyes and on your brow bone.  Use your fingers or a face sponge to rub it in smooth.  Next apply a small amount to your outer cheek bones to highlight your features.  This spot really illuminates your face!  Last, place a small amount on the indent above your upper lip.  This creates the illusion of a fuller pouty lip.  Have your best makeup look ever with highlighting!  Who wouldn’t want their face to glow?!

XOXO,

Hi Girls,

Have you ever looked through magazines and seen models or your favorite celebrities with glowing radiant skin?  It looks beautiful!  Now how exactly do they get that glowing, sparkling skin?  Highlighter is the key!! It’s the secret to amazing looking skin.

High lighter is something not usually found in most girls’ makeup bags.  It’s a step that most of us skip…a very important step that most of us skip.  Waking up early in the morning for classes can cause dull skin and dark under eyes.  Using high lighter is a quick way to make yourself look more awake.  Don’t mistake high lighter as concealer.  Instead, lightly dab the highlighter Chelsea Crockett- benefit luminizerunder your eyes and on your brow line, on top of your cover up.  This will brighten your eyes creating the appearance of beingChelsea Crockett- highlighter more awake.  Another great place to use high lighter is on your cheek bones.  This creates the illusion of radiant skin.  Buy a stick concealer that you can easily roll onto your cheek bones and rub in.  Your skin will be glowing!  Check out a few of the products below to start getting glowing skin.
