Coconut oil doesn’t get nearly the credit it deserves.  It has so many benefits for your skin and especially hair!  It has hair repair, shine, and growth power that can do wonders if you pair it with the right ingredients.  Here are three different recipes you can create to cater whatever problems of your hair you want to fix! 🙂 Chelsea Crockett - Coconut Oil

  • Hair Repair.  If your hair is dry and damaged and needs some help, then this recipe is for you!  All you need is one egg and a tablespoon of coconut oil.  Beat the egg, add in the oil, and apply the mix to your scalp and hair.  Rinse it out with cool water and follow by washing your hair with shampoo.  Putting egg in your hair might sound gross, but it’s definitely worth it!
  • Hair Growth.  I know I’m not the only one that’s looked for a product to aid in hair growth.  This recipe really does work and you can do it right from home!  Mix together a tablespoon of coconut oil and a tablespoon of Aloe Vera.  Apply this gel to all areas of your hair including everything from your scalp to your ends.  Let it sit for half an hour then rinse it out with warm water!      
  • Dandruff.  An itchy scalp is the absolute worst, especially if dandruff is the result.  Mix four tablespoons of coconut oil with one tablespoon of lemon juice.  Apply the mixture to your scalp wherever dandruff or itchiness is occurring.  After leaving this on for 15-20 minutes, shampoo and rinse your hair.  Do this before you shower and your head will feel much better!

Coconut water is more hydrating than regular water!  If you have dry or acne-prone skin, drinking a few cups of coconut water can greatly approve the look of your skins appearance.  Amazing, right?!  This is also great as an after-work out drink or if you’re feeling dehydrated.  Coconut water is also full of electrolytes.  If you fall ill with the stomach flu or find yourself very sick, drink coconut water to replenish your body and give you more energy!  While regular water is always a healthy option, coconut water contains nutrients including calcium, magnesium, phosphorous, potassium and sodium, making it the ultimate healthy drink!

You may have read that title and thought “Wait, healthy and cookie in the same sentence?!”  REWIND!  Yes, there actually is a way to munch on a healthy cookie; and the best part, you can design it yourself!  Check out all the yummy ingredients you needs to make a delicious and healthy dessert.Chelsea Crockett- apple cookies

  • Apples
  • Nutella
  • Peanut Butter
  • OPTIONAL: crushed nuts (almonds, peanuts, walnuts, etc.), mini chocolate chips, oats, candy pieces, shredded coconut

Begin by removing the core and slicing the apples horizontally so that the apple pieces look like rings!  Now comes the fun part.  Start by putting peanut butter, Nutella, or both all over your apple ring.  Then place as many toppings on as your heart desires and dig in!  They’re as simple as that!

These apple cookies are perfect for a mid-day snack, after dinner dessert, or to set out at a dinner party or sleepover and let your guests create their own!  The possibilities are endless, so dive in and start creating your apple cookies!
