Quick Guide to De-cluttering your Life

Do you ever just feel overwhelmed with life? I feel most overwhelmed when my room is a mess, my closet is a mess, my bathroom is a mess, and everything else is a mess! The best way to keep that overwhelmed feeling at bay is to simplify your life and de-clutter. Here are a few easy ways to declutter your space so you can feel like you’ve got your life together. These are things you can get rid of and not even miss.

Magazines: Let’s face it. We all have a pile of magazines in our room that we insist we will eventually read or make crafts out of. Recycle those puppies! If you haven’t read them yet, you probably won’t be getting to it any time soon. You will always get new magazines in the mail, or if you need them for crafts you can get them at Goodwill!clutter 1

Makeup: I have a whole tub of half-used or forgotten-about makeup. What good is it if I don’t use it? Some of it is dried up or broken. Why in the world do I keep it? I have no idea. Toss it!

Hangers: I always seem to have a ton of abandoned hangers jutting out from my closet. They always get in the way when I am trying to put laundry away or pick out clothes to wear. Grab all of those lonely hangers and put them in a storage bin or just get rid of them!

Crafts: Those half-finished DIYs sitting around? Those need to go.

You will not believe how good it feels to de-clutter your space. Seriously, it feels so freeing! Simplifying life is important.

Every time I walk through Target or Michaels I am totally inspired to do tons of fall crafts! I love crafting, especially when it comes to crafting with crayons. When I found a cute way to decorate pumpkins with them I totally flipped. Here is how to make these adorable fall decorations!

What you will need:32

  • Large white pumpkin (fake or real)
  • Hot glue
  • 16-20 crayons
  • Blow dryer

Take all of the wrappers off of the crayons and the break your crayons in half. Cover the table with newspaper so you don’t get any crayon drip on it. Hot glue your crayons onto the top of the pumpkin by the stem so they make a circle around the pumpkin. Next, take your hair dryer and place it on either the medium or high setting and heat the crayons until they melt and drip down the pumpkin. Let your pumpkin dry and then you are finished! You can choose a theme for your pumpkin such as “candy corn” where you just use different shades of yellow white and orange, or you could do a rainbow pumpkin!

I am going to make of these as a cute fall decoration for my room!

Ever since I discovered chalkboard paint, I have been the craftiest girl on the planet. There are so many things that you can do with chalkboard paint, and I went a little craft crazy! Here are a few of my favorite chalkboard paint crafts!6164223254_6409d59afd_o

  1. Chalkboard pumpkin: Tis the season for pumpkin decorating! Cover a pumpkin in chalkboard paint and then draw on the pumpkin with chalk to decorate it! This is a fun alternative to carving a pumpkin because it is a lot less work, a lot less messy, and you can easily change the design on the pumpkin just by wiping off the chalk!
  2. Fun monogram: This idea is great for girls nights and parties! Take wooden letters from Michaels and cover them in chalkboard paint, and then you and your girls can decorate them with chalk! They can take their letter home and change the design on the monogram whenever they want, and they will remember you whenever they look at it!
  3. Picture frame: For this craft I went to a thrift store and found an old antique picture frame. Then, I went home and painted the frame. Then I stapled a piece of plywood to the back of the frame and painted the plywood with chalkboard paint. I am going to hang the frame from my door and write cute messages on it or draw cute signs on it.

Now go pick up some chalkboard paint and get to crafting!

If you are like me, then you love having pictures displayed around your room. They remind me of the good times I have had and the great people I have had them with. Picture frames can sometimes be a bit pricey, though, and can be a little plain! I found a great DIY to help display those photos in a super cute way! Check it out:

download (3)

What you need:

–          Clothes pins

–          Cardboard

–          Pictures

Cut a medium sized circle out of your cardboard. Make it look like a donut, with the center cut out. If you want, you can cover the ring with decorative paper or fabric to add a little extra oomf to it! Next, hot glue your clothes pins onto the cardboard ring. Make sure they are evenly spaced out and spread out enough that you can fit multiple pictures around the ring without being too crowded. Boom, you are finished! If you want, you can make multiple clothes pin frames and hang them close together in your room to create wall art. Sweet, right?

Show off your artistic side with these cute frames!
