I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.” – Philippians 4:13

There have been so many times throughout my life where I’ve ignored the verse above. Thoughts of doubt and frustration have too often stopped me from carrying out God’s plan for my life.

It’s easy to forget how powerful we really are as a member of God’s kingdom. Maybe you’ve passed up a great opportunity in the past, or let anxiety stop you from doing something God wanted you to do. We’ve all been there, but it’s time we start replacing thoughts of doubt and confusion with six simple words: “God, I can’t but you can.”

These six words can make a world of difference, not only in your work, school, or home life but in your relationship with God, too. When we let our walls down and finally admit that we can’t do this alone, God is right there, ready to take over.

When we wave our white flag and get rid of our prideful mindsets, God will start to work in ways we never even knew were possible. It’s a humbling process that we have to experience in order to give ourselves fully to God.

1 Peter 5:6-7 always gives me the reality check I need when I think I don’t need God’s help. It says, “Humble yourselves, then, under God’s mighty hand, so that he will lift you up in his own good time. Leave all your worries with him, because he cares for you.

When I have thoughts of pride and independence, I immediately feel embarrassed and guilty and think of this passage from 1 Peter. God’s love is so incomprehensible that we take advantage of it. We compare it to worldly love that so easily withers and fades.

You may feel a weight on your shoulders to perform a certain way or succeed in all that you do. Maybe you start a new job next week and are rehearsing exactly what you’ll say and do down to the hour, minute, second… This is when you surrender to God and humbly acknowledge that you can’t do this alone.

We are God’s precious children, and he wants us to ask for his help. Once we accept the fact that we simply can’t do this life on our own, we allow him to work in ways we never even thought were possible!

I urge you to surrender to God every morning before you even get out of bed. Write down a prayer in your phone, journal, notes, etc., to pray when you want God to know he’s in control.  Let Him in the driver’s seat because through Him, anything is possible!

Sometimes you just have to pray and say “God, I can’t but you can.” These six simple words can move mountains and allow God take over the reins on your life. This phrase is the perfect start to full devotion to God and a faith that cannot be shaken!

Where God Guides, He Provides

Have you ever been thrown into a situation where you don’t think there’s a way out? Maybe you feel like God presented you with an opportunity, but you don’t even know what to do with it.

Throughout the years, God will fill your life with both good and bad situations and experiences. You may have thoughts of confusion, doubt, and maybe even fear, but God will never bring you to something that he won’t carry you through.

There are several passages in the Bible where it talks about how God equips us with the things we need. He doesn’t abandon us to figure it out on our own while we feel scared, anxious, and isolated. He wants us to know that despite our worry and doubt, he provides every single time. Look at what the Bible has to say about it!

Matthew 6:31-34 says, “So do not worry, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the pagans run after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them. But seek first his kingdom and his righteousness, and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore, do not worry about tomorrow, for tomorrow will worry about itself. Each day has enough trouble of its own.”

When have you felt most deserted by God? Was it through a terrible break up in high school? Or maybe when you didn’t get into your dream college you’ve been planning on attending for years?

We’re going to come to several roadblocks and setbacks all throughout our lives. Or at least that’s what we think they are. God doesn’t lead us into failure, for he always has a purpose in where and what he guides us into.

If God takes you through an awful break up, think of it as a new opportunity. Maybe God knows you need some time to yourself to figure out who you are before you give part of yourself to someone else. He will provide you with guidance and clarity during these times, all you have to do is be willing to listen!

Philippians 4:19 says, “And my God will meet all your needs according to the riches of his glory in Christ Jesus.”

If we truly believe the word of God, then we should never doubt the promises within it. This verse is not just a statement, but a promise. God will meet all your needs, not just in the good times of your life. God will never take us into a situation that he expects us to handle on our own.

Isn’t that cool to think about? Our heavenly father never abandons us or leaves us to deal with things alone. Where God guides, he always provides. Rest in this promise and remember to put your trust in Christ, today and every day.

I think peace is something we all could use a little more of.  Whether you’re in a stressful season in your life, going through a tough break-up, or even just feeling anxious, praying for peace can make a world of a difference.  When I sit down to pray, it’s sometimes hard to find the right words to say.  If you have this problem at times too, here are 5 ways to pray for peace!

  1. Pray for trust.Chelsea Crockett - Peace  Trust is something I think we all struggle with at times.  Praying for trust will take away any anxiety or stress you may be having because you’ll start to truly believe that God has a plan for each of us.
  2. Pray for strength.  Having the strength to get through any situation will help you through all seasons of your life.  If you have the strength to get through one low of your life, you can get through them all!
  3. Pray to hear God’s voice.  God’s voice is real and present, and you will hear it if you listen.  Pray to hear what God is trying to tell you and you may find the direction that you’ve been searching for.
  4. Pray one day at a time.  Taking things one day at a time really does make a huge difference.  Start the day with a prayer to give you strength and trust for the day ahead!
  5. Pray for patience.  Patience is a virtue, and if you can learn to be still and patient, you will gain more peace than you could’ve imagined.

I hope this helps bring back some peace into your life.  God is good and He’ll listen to your prayers!

Love, Chels
