I love getting crafty for fall especially with tons of different seasonal DIYs! Although there’re so many to choose from, I want to share with you one that’s quick, easy, and perfect to decorate your room with!

When I was younger we used to carve a jack-o’-lantern faces on ourChelsea Crockett - Pumpkin DIY pumpkins, add a tea light, and set them out for trick-or-treaters to admire.  Now that I’m older, I discovered an even better way to carve my pumpkin.  I found this idea on Pinterest and it’s so cute!  First, you’ll have to pick out the perfect pumpkin!  Next, cut out the bottom of the pumpkin, and clean out all of the seeds and insides. Then, take a drill with different size bits and drill holes all around the pumpkin. You can make designs with horizontal or vertical lines or even spell out a word!

After you’ve completed drilling the holes in your pumpkin, add a tea light to the bottom of it and the light will shine right through! It’s fun to create a few different sized pumpkins and make the design different on each one (like the picture on the right). When they’re lit up next to each other, they look adorable!

DIY Game Day Shirts

Fall weather, tailgates, game day outfits… Football season is finally in full swing!  One of my favorite things about game days is all the different outfits that girls come up with. Recently, I’ve seen so many different DIY shirts that are super cute and so easy to make!  Here are two different DIY game day shirts!

  • Tube-Top T-Shirt. First, cut vertically along the side of the shirt so the sleeves are cut off.  After making these cuts, you should have just two rectangles of material.  Turn the rectangles inside out and sew them together along the vertical sides.  Put on the shirt and gather any excess fabric along the sides to make it tighter.  You’re then going to resew along the vertical lines to create your desired fit.  Sewing it together the first time will help you keep your rectangles aligned.  Then, finish your top by cutting off any excess material on the sides!Chelsea Crockett - DIY College Shirt
  • High-neck Tank Top T-Shirt.  This DIY is pretty easy.  Pick out a shirt that you don’t mind cutting up a bit.  Like the picture on the right, cut the bottom off of the shirt as high as you would like, possibly as a high-low shirt or a crop-top!  Then for the next part, I suggest drawing two lines before you cut the sleeves to make sure they’re even.  Then make the cuts and you’re good to go!  (P.S. Don’t clip the collar!)

Which style are you going to try and make?  If you have two shirts, you might as well try both! 🙂

When you outgrow your clothes, or simply get tired of them, there’s plenty of DIY options to give them another use!  Whether it be turning your old t-shirts into a quilt or an old sweater into a scarf, giving them new life is always a fun and creative craft to do when you have the time!  Here are 3 recycle DIYs for your old clothes and accessories. 🙂Chelsea Crockett - DIY Jeans

  • If you have an old pair of jeans that you don’t wear anymore, give them a makeover!  Styles of jeans change so often, so if you have a pair that are out of style, why not trim them up like the picture on the right?  All you have to do is take some chalk to mark the scallops in the right place (you can even use a small Dixie cup to get the right curves).  Then, make the cut!
  • If you have a plain old colored shirt or tank, try out reverse tie dye!  If you know how to tie die, it’s basically using bleach instead of colored dye.  Look up different styles you can make with where you put the rubber bands and go to town!
  • Maxi skirts have gone in and out of style over the past few years.  If you have one that you never wear anymore, you can cut it up to make it into a sundress or a swimsuit cover-up.  Depending on the material, try it out for yourself!

Have you ever tried one of these before?  Let me know below how yours turns out!

When it comes to dressing up nice, my shoes are usually my favorite part of my outfit to pick out, especially when I’m wearing a fun pair of heels or wedges!  Although I love rocking a simple pair of heels when I can, most of my pairs are pretty boring.  I found 3 different DIY ways you can give your heels a stylish makeover! 🙂Chelsea Crockett - Ribbon Heels

  • Use pretty ribbon that you can wrap around your ankle.  Depending on the color of your heels, pick a color that compliments them.  I suggest even using the same color ribbon as your heels to make it look more professionally done, instead of mix-match.  Since it’s hard to explain without showing you an example, you can go off the picture on the right.  Simply wrap it once around your heel, then around your ankle, and finish it off with a bow!
  • Glue on glitter on the bottom part of your heels.  Use a superglue paste to apply to the underneath of your heels and sprinkle on glitter until they’re completely covered.  Let them dry and then show em’ off!  Chelsea Crockett - Jewel Heels
  • As for thicker heels, superglue on various jewels and beads like the picture on the left.  If you purchase a super strong glue to assure that the jewels will stay put, then you shouldn’t have to worry about them falling off!  I suggest using different colors and shapes while still complimenting the original pair of heels.

Which DIY is your favorite?  Let me know below which one you are going to try out for yourself!

Prom Prep: DIY Ways to Break-in Your Heels

Prom season is right around the corner and it’s never too early to start prepping for it.  Not only is it a priority to look good on prom night, but to be comfortable, too!  I’d say the most painful part of the prom process is wearing heels for hours during pictures, dinner, dancing, etc.  I found a few DIY ways to break-in your heels that’ll make wearing them all night a piece of cake!

  • If your heels are too tight, stretch them out using ice!  Fill up two freezer bags with water and seal them tightly.  Place the bags in your heels then put them in the freezer until the water freezes.  Then, take out your heels and let the ice thaw until you can slip out the bags.  Your heels should be much looser and comfier!Chelsea Crockett - Prom Heels
  • Speaking of making your heels more comfortable, using heat to stretch out the material is your best bet!  Take a blow dryer and blast your shoes with hot air, then bend and twist your shoes while they’re still warm to loosen them up!
  • One of the worst parts about wearing new shoes is the possibility of lots of blisters… Yikes!  As weird as this might sound, try rubbing deodorant on the places on your foot where you might blister.  This will provide a small barrier to prevent any rubbing!
  • When you get a new pair of heels, the bottoms of them will most likely be slippery.  Take sandpaper and rub the bottom of your shoes with it.  It’ll give them a little grip and friction!

Which DIY are you going to try out?  I hope it helps! 🙂

Along with a stylish outfit and killer makeup, you’ll need some festive nails to complete your Valentine’s Day look!  Instead of getting your nails done for your special night, I found three different designs you can try out for yourself.  I think they’re fairly simply to do even if nails aren’t your thing!

  • If you like going all out, then the design on the right is for you! Chelsea Crockett - Love Nails I stumbled upon it on Pinterest and love it.  If you have a steady enough hand to attempt it, give it a try!  You might even be able to find nail stickers if you’re not artistic enough.  I’m in love with how festive and creative it is!
  • If you like to keep it simple, I recommend painting your nails white to start off.  Then, add a black or red heart on your ring finger!  You can even add some glitter on top to make it pop.
  • I love using super thin nail polish brushes to decorate my nails.  It makes creating a design SO much easier!  Take one of these and paint the tip of an arrow on your middle finger.  Then finish it off by painting the end of the arrow on your ring finger to create the full arrow illusion!  Use either pink or red as the base and paint the arrow in white.  It’s so cute and outside the box!

Which design are you going to rock this holiday?  Practice your artistic ability and give one of these a try!

Most of us don’t like to admit it, but the majority of us are professional procrastinators.  Whether it be homework, chores, or a lot of other things, I always push dreadful tasks off until I’m forced to do them!  As far as Christmas shopping goes, I can be the same way.  I came up with a few last-minute DIY Christmas gifts that may come in handy!

  • I always use crafty picture DIYs to my advantage. Chelsea Crockett - DIY Choker There are so many different things you can come up with or even take from Pinterest!  Whether it be decorating a picture frame or making a picture wall art, if you’re crafty you should definitely give it a try!
  • Put together a gift card wallet.  You could either buy a pricier wallet and fill it with a few $5 gift cards to their favorite places or buy a cheaper wallet and fill it with $10 or $15 gift cards!
  • FOOD!  Who said you can’t give food as a gift?  You may want to pair it with a little something, but baking up a holiday treat or two or even buying something from a cute cupcake shop would be totally fine in my book :)!
  • DIY jewelry may sound hard to make, but it’s actually pretty simple!  There are tons of different ways to make homemade chokers, bracelets, etc. like the ones on the right!

Whether you’re living in a dorm, apartment, or you’re still at home, everyone can use a little more space when it comes to bathroom storage.  Especially if you’re in college, living the dorm life can leave you with minimal bathroom space.  I came up with a few DIYs you can use when it comes to bathroom storage that are both cute and helpful… That way, you get the best of both worlds!

  • DIY Mason Jars.  Mason jars are some of my favorite things to use as organizers.  They give off a vintage feel and you can decorate them to match your room, bathroom, etc.  You can use paint and fun tape to customize them yourself!  Chelsea Crockett - Magnetic Organizer
  • Multiple Hook Towel Rack.  When there’s only one or two hooks to hang your towels on, you can run into some trouble, especially if you share a bathroom with others.  Get a rack to mount on your wall or door to keep each other’s towels apart and dry!
  • Plastic containers.  Don’t underestimate the power of plastic containers!  There are tons of different plastic bins and containers to separate and organize your bathroom stuff in.  You can even purchase stackable ones and label whose is whose!
  • Wall cup organizer.  Organizers like the featured image above are super handy and not to mention so cute!  I suggest using your walls to your advantage.  Only storing things in your bathroom drawers or cabinets can get cluttered and unorganized!
  • Magnetic organizers.  These things are lifechanging and I didn’t even know they existed!  The picture on the right shows different magnetic organizers you can mount on your wall.  They make it easy to keep things separated and easy to find!

I hope these help you organize your bathroom better!

Dressing up for Halloween never gets old.  Whether you’re 5 or 25, everyone finds a little bit of enjoyment in finding the perfect costume!  Although there’s nothing wrong with dressing up solo, getting your friends together to pull off an awesome group costume makes the night even more memorable!

  • If you need something super quick and simple, emoji t-shirts are the answer!  All you need to do is purchase plain yellow t-shirts from Walmart, Target, etc.  Pick your fave emoji and create the face on your shirt using whatever color felt material you need.  Simply cut out the shapes and hot glue each piece of felt onto your shirt!Chelsea Crockett - Emoji Costumes
  • If you have a big enough group, be the seven dwarves from Snow White!  All you need are different colored long-sleeved shirts (colors that the dwarves wear), beanies, felt (black, yellow, and white), laced boots, and high white socks.  For the white felt, cut letters and hot glue them to the shirt to spell out whoever you are, whether it be Happy or Sleepy!  With the black felt, make a belt with a square yellow buckle on the front.  After you do this, you’re set!
  • Basing costumes off you and your friend’s favorite movie is easy and such a fun idea!  There are so many movies to pull costume ideas from such as Disney movies, Mean Girls, etc.  Pick the easiest and best one to go off of and go from there!

Let me know below what you and your friends are being for Halloween!  You never know, I may need some help myself!

Decorating my room is something I love to do.  Since it’s my own space, I ultimately get to decide what hangs on the walls or goes on my dresser.  With fall in full swing, the decorations are as well!  Since DIYs are one of my favorite pastimes, adding a festive touch makes for the perfect DIY room décor!

  • During fall, you can never have too many pumpkins.  Chelsea Crockett - Pumpkin DecorSeveral stores sell mini pumpkins that are easy to decorate and store in your room!  Buy some paint, glitter, etc. to match your room and make your pumpkin into the perfect decoration.
  • Make your own pumpkin spice candle!  You might be thinking what?  You can do that?  There are tons of recipes online to create your own fall scented candle. You can burn it and fill your room with the sweet smell of pumpkin spice!
  • I’ve always loved decking out my room with twinkle lights to make it warm and cozy.  To get a little more festive, purchase orange or yellow-tinted twinkle lights to hang around your room.  Along with your other fall decorations, these will finish off the job and create the perfect autumn atmosphere!

Whether you’re adding décor to your dorm at school or bedroom at home, I hope you create the perfect festive touch for the season!

Many of the popular trends from last century are starting to make their way back into the fashion world.  One of which is chokers, which have started to appear in stores and sold by various brands across the board.  You may want a specific choker that you can’t find online or in stores, so… why not make it yourself?

If you like simple, create your own ribbon choker.  This is probably the easiest way to make your own necklace!  Just purchase some black ribbon, whatever you prefer, and measure its length to fit around your neck.  You can either make it a little longer and tie it behind your neck or you can fasten it together with a mini safety pin.  How quick and easy is that?Chelsea Crockett - Chokers

For me, I like to add a little more to my choker such as beads or dangles.  You can find these at most craft stores!  Pick out your initial, your favorite animal, etc.  Customize it as you wish!  You’ll also need a thin black ribbon or thick string to slide your bead onto.  If you want a super simple way to keep it on, just tie a small bow behind your neck.  Your hair will most likely cover it!

Which are you going to make?  Tell me how it turns out in the comments below!

In honor of Fourth of July coming up, it’s the perfect time for some American flag DIYs to help put together your red, white, and blue outfit. With Pinterest being the hub for all things DIY, I found a craft that’s simple and produces the cutest, festive results! You’ll need a few tools and materials to get started.

As far as what you need, there’s not much!Chelsea Crockett - American Flag Cuffs You’ll need a pair of jeans that can be cuffed (preferably boyfriend style or ripped), safety pins, an American flag printed material, thread, and a needle. You can either find an American flag material at a craft store or substitute something as simple as a flag bandana. After you have the right tools and materials, you’re ready to begin your DIY!

  • First things first, turn your jeans inside out.
  • Pick which piece of material you want for each cuff and use safety pins to attach the fabric to the jeans.
  • Then, like the picture above, use the thread and needle to sow the material on!
  • Turn your jeans right-side out to enjoy your new patriotic pants!

It’s as easy as that! I can’t wait to see how yours turned out this holiday!

I love being creative, especially when doing fun DIYs! And with school starting, you might be going off to college and hauling all of your décor to your dorm. Whatever the case, you have a few weeks of summer left to do a couple artsy room DIYs!

I think one of the cutest room decorations I see all over Pinterest and Tumblr is a large map to put on your wall. Chelsea Crockett - DIY MapWell… there are more creative ways to do so, and I want to help you out! Your first option is one like the picture on the right. Buy a big canvas, whatever size fits your room/dorm, and print out paper templates of each continent. Make sure they’re proportionate to each other! Take double sided tape and tape down each template very, very lightly so you can easily pull them off after you’re down without leaving tape marks. After taping, use canvas paint and splatter it wherever you want! Wait till the paint dries, then peel off each template. You can have fun with different colors that’ll match your room!

The other option is a map like the featured image above. You’ll need white tacks and tons of white string! You’ll have to buy a large canvas and paint it black. Wait till it dries, then put your white tacks periodically to make the shapes of each continent. Take your string and start on one continent at a time. Wrap it around the tacks in different orders to make it like the picture above! You can add a verse or quote if you want, too :)!

Have fun! – Chelsea

Let’s be real, aspirin is a life safer! Whether it’s cramps, a headache, a sunburn, etc., aspirin is the first thing I turn to, it’s magic! I’ve recently heard of yet another use for this medicine that isn’t just for feeling better on the inside but on the outside, too!

I found Chelsea Crockett - Aspirin Face Maskan aspirin face mask that helps reduce reddening, eliminates acne, and exfoliates your skin. It’s inexpensive, easy, and quick (what more could a girl want when it comes to a DIY recipe?). First, you’ll need a few ingredients: 4-6 uncoated aspirin pills, warm water, and a teaspoon of honey. Not bad right? Then crush up your pills in a small bowl and add in just enough warm water to make a paste. Then, you guessed it, add your little bit of honey to make it even thicker! Apply your mixture to your skin and let it sit until it hardens (or for about 10 minutes). Wash it off with a warm towel and there you have it! It’s as simple as that!

Now you can say good-bye to acne with just a few easy steps :).

Winter break is the most awaited time of the semester. After all the tests, homework assignments, and pop quizzes, nothing is needed more than a nice, long break. Although our days off are spent shopping for last minute Christmas gifts and baking sugar cookies, some are filled with long afternoons of boredom. So… here are a few winter-themed “do it yourself” ideas for those dreadful days!

If your friends are in the same boring boat as you, invite them over and have a mini spa day! There are soooo many DIY products that are super fun to make, especially if you incorporate Christmas scents such as peppermint or cinnamon. Recipes for do it yourself lip scrubs or face masks can be found all over Pinterest! How relaxing :)!

If you have a couple old Christmas sweaters laying around your house, this DIY is just what you’re looking for! Instead of letting your worn-out sweater sit and collect dust in your closet, change it into a couple different accessories! If the sleeves are big enough, cut them off and make them into leg warmers! These are definitely back in style, look to the left for example. You can also make it into an infinity scarf! There are many ways to go about this, so find your own way whether it’s using the neck hole or the ends of your sweater.Chelsea Crockett - DIY Leg Warmers

Showing off your art skills is another way to occupy spare time. Buy a canvas and some paints, possibly colors to match your room (or even Christmas colors!). This DIY is open to lots of interpretation. I saw on Pinterest that someone painted their canvas green and red to make a Christmas decoration for their room!

What do you plan on doing over break? Tell me below :)!

Eyebrows can be tricky. Some girls are born with naturally gorgeous eyebrows that take no grooming or care. Others who aren’t so lucky have to constantly keep up with the shaping of their brows. Luckily, there is a homemade remedy to try right in your home!Chelsea Crockett - Eyebrow Waxing

Getting your eyebrows waxed at a hair or nail salon can often be expensive and risky. There’s a way to shape them at home just how you want them and without spending too much money. Take a trip to your local grocery store and buy honey, salt, and flour if you do not already have any at home. Then, take a small dish and mix your ingredients with water to make it runnier. When you wax your brows, you have to be extremely careful. Make sure you are very cautious as to where the wax is placed or may possibly drip. Then apply with a Q-tip or spoon. It is best to have your mom or friend do it for you while you are laying down to avoid the wax running into places you don’t want it. After that, place a small piece of a soft cloth onto the wax. Make sure you are very gentle when lightly pressing down! Then wait about 10 minutes and quickly rip off the cloth. Continue this method wherever you want the hair removed! The key is to take your time and be super careful.

Hopefully this helps next time you want to shape up your fierce eyebrows! Good luck!

-Chelsea
