As we all know, layering is a must in autumn and winter. Why not have fun with it? I love the look of collars. They add a preppy flare to any ensemble. There are so many kinds of collars, too! Here are a few outfits that combine collars with other cute fall fashion staples.collars

  1. With a simple blazer: I love this cool, classy look. Pair a simple white button up collared shirt with a simple blazer, such as a navy or grey blazer. Button the shirt all the way up to the top so that all of the buttons are buttoned and the collar is displayed. Add in a long simple necklace, skinnies and booties!
  2. With a cable knit sweater: This is the perfect preppy look. Layer a cable knit sweater over a white collared shirt for an easy, classy look! Add in a pair of riding boots and wayfarer sunglasses and you will be the most preppy lady on the block!
  3. Dressy: I love sequins. Anything that sparkles is totally my fav. That is why I love this sequin collar trend! You can dress it down and wear it to school with a pair of skinnies and flats, or you can dress it up with a blazer and wedges! Love love!

How will YOU be wearing collars and keeping it preppy this fall? Comment below and let me know!

Let’s be real. We all love rocking the dark-lips trend! I think it is so romantic and mysterious. I am working on getting this look down pat! Here is How I am mastering the trend:dark lips 2

  • Keep it even: In order for your lipstick to go on smooth and look its very best, you need to have smooth lips. By gently exfoliating your lips you can remove all of the dead skin and prep your lips for perfect lip color! Also, make sure they are nice and moisturized.
  • Prep your skin: Spend a little bit of time working on your skin. I like to apply my concealer, foundation, powder, bronzer, and blush before I put on my lipstick. If you put the lipstick on before you do your face makeup, you smudge your lip color all over the place.
  • Find your hue: If your skin is an olive tone, go for a deep burgundy. If you have dark skin, go for a merlot hue and mix it with a tiny bit of brown.
  • Lip line? With dark colors, you usually do not have to line your lips before applying lipstick. You can if you want, but it’s not a total must!

I love this super chic trend. I always feel more sassy and confident when I have a bold lip color going on. Do you? Comment below and let me know if you like this fall fashion trend!

elbow patches 1Elbow patches may seem like a thing of the past, but trust me, they are SO not. I just re-discovered the trend very recently and am so glad I did! Elbow patches add a hipster, preppy vibe to any sweater or long sleeved shirt. Here is how YOU can get hip with the trend!

  1. Sweater: Toss on an elbow patch sweater, dark skinnies, and riding boots for a super stylish, preppy fall every day outfit!
  2. Blazer: Nothing says “I am preppy AND classy, and super stylish to boot” like an elbow patch blazer. End of story.
  3. Shirt: This is one of the easiest way to rock the trend. Just pair a long sleeved elbow patch high low shirt with a pair of black leggings, boot socks, and riding boots. I would wear this look to school, to work, to church, out shopping, pretty much anywhere! If you want to make your outfit stand out, snag a shirt with GLITTER elbow patches!

I am going to be trying an elbow patch DIY here in the near future, so keep an eye out for that! I am going to attempt to add elbow patches to one of my old sweaters to spruce it up. Stay tuned!

Today I am going to walk you through one of my favorite fashion trend DIYs. The fashion trend is boot socks! These are the socks that stick out of the top of your boots. They are super stylish and help keep your legs warm! Today I am going to show you how to make some of your very own! Here is an example of what they look like when they are finished:

The first step to making these boot socks is to go through your dad’s sock drawer and find a pair he does not want anymore. Pick a neutral color that you know you can wear with a lot of things.

Here is the pair I chose:

Next: You have to cut the toes off! You can choose to cut anywhere on the sock you want. If you prefer your socks to be bunchy, then don’t cut off very much. If you want your socks to be

barely visible or not be shown as much, then just cut right above the heel of the sock.

After that: You are done! That was totally easy, right? I love this trend because it adds detail to your outfit and spices up your boots a bit too! They even keep your legs nice and toasty. Bonus! Here are some pictures of what your socks should look like and an example on how to wear them! Enjoy!

Well, I have realized that because there are so many different styles of riding boots, that I may need to give you a little style advice about a few of the popular versions of riding boots. Here are my top four favorite styles of riding boots and when to wear them!

  1. The classic riding boot: These are your typical “original” riding boot. They are simple, classy, and versatile. I choose this style of boot when I am wearing a button up and vest, or when I am wearing something preppy.tory burch selma riding boot almond
  2. The lace-up riding boot: These boots have an edgy flair to them. I love wearing these with an army jacket and a loose, flowey white top. Toss in some gold stacked rings and a simple statement necklace and you are good to go!img-thing
  3. The black riding boot: These boots are for when brown just doesn’t work with what you’re wearing, or if you just prefer black boots over brown! My favorite way to style my black riding boots is with dark olive green skinny jeans and a white blouse.black-riding-bootsto-brighten-my-day--riding-boots-part-ii--tory-burch-nadine-4qgw5dop
  4. Buckle riding boots: These boots are the ones adorned with accent buckles. The buckles add character and style to the boots! I feel like these boots are a little more casual and “fun”, so I wear an oversized sweater or a fun flowey shirt with them. You could even throw a little bit of a country vibe into your ensemble by adding these boots. Be creative and have fun finding out what “goes” best with them!efea39fe962f4ac60ea6f7435ca200a5

Dressy: If you want to dress this trend up a bit, you have a few options. First, you start with your favorite pair of dark-wash high-waisters. Then, grab a pair of dark colored tights, such as black or maroon, and slip them on! To dress the ensemble up, grab a pair of black suede wedges or black lace up wedges.
