Fall weather, tailgates, game day outfits… Football season is finally in full swing!  One of my favorite things about game days is all the different outfits that girls come up with. Recently, I’ve seen so many different DIY shirts that are super cute and so easy to make!  Here are two different DIY game day shirts!

  • Tube-Top T-Shirt. First, cut vertically along the side of the shirt so the sleeves are cut off.  After making these cuts, you should have just two rectangles of material.  Turn the rectangles inside out and sew them together along the vertical sides.  Put on the shirt and gather any excess fabric along the sides to make it tighter.  You’re then going to resew along the vertical lines to create your desired fit.  Sewing it together the first time will help you keep your rectangles aligned.  Then, finish your top by cutting off any excess material on the sides!Chelsea Crockett - DIY College Shirt
  • High-neck Tank Top T-Shirt.  This DIY is pretty easy.  Pick out a shirt that you don’t mind cutting up a bit.  Like the picture on the right, cut the bottom off of the shirt as high as you would like, possibly as a high-low shirt or a crop-top!  Then for the next part, I suggest drawing two lines before you cut the sleeves to make sure they’re even.  Then make the cuts and you’re good to go!  (P.S. Don’t clip the collar!)

Which style are you going to try and make?  If you have two shirts, you might as well try both! 🙂

One of my favorite things about high school was going all out for our Friday night football games.  Some of my best memories of my four years were made at our school’s stadium cheering on the team!  Chelsea Crockett - Game Day OutfitWith college, the football game days only get bigger and better, especially if you go to a big school.  Here is a little guide I put together if you need some help picking out an outfit for your next game day!

One of my favorite things that I’ve seen girls wear on game day is oversized jerseys.  I know some schools sell them in a dress style to pair with accessories and booties!  If your jersey isn’t long enough to style as a dress, rock it with a ripped pair of white jeans like the picture on the left.  You can also determine how casual you want to be by wearing wedged booties or a pair of sneakers!

Incorporating your team’s colors into your outfit is obviously a must.  Although some colleges dress up more than others, you can always accessorize using colored necklaces, hats, etc.  Since suede is big this fall, pairing an off-the-shoulder shirt with a button- up suede skirt is so cute!  Another piece of clothing you can pair your outfit with is a flannel in your school’s colors.  You can either substitute it for a jacket or tie it around your waste!

I hope you enjoy this year’s football season!

Chelsea Crockett - Maroon and White OutfitFootball is in full swing at our high school and between the loud cheers and touchdowns, we all want to be looking super cute for the games!  Of course, it’s fun to wear school t-shirts or sweatshirts… but why not have a little fun and dress up a bit? I have to let you in on a little secret! Whenever I’m struggling to decide what to wear, I search Pinterest!  Here’s the catch: If your school colors are maroon and white, go onto Pinterest and search “maroon casual outfit.” Or if your school colors are gold and blue, then search “gold and blue casual outfit.” For something as simple as that, it’s amazing what you will find!

Recently, I searched my school colors and found everything from colored patterned scarves to stylish colored jeans and sweaters.  The outfits are fashionable and trendy, but not too over-the-top. Remember, it is just a football game!  They help me to reinvent some old clothes that I might have in my closet as well.  Sometimes my friends and I get together and switch out our clothes. It’s fun to borrow, share, and design new looks together with the help of Pinterest.  With all of that said, let me know how you use Pinterest to help style your look!

Some of you may have seen my YouTube video on this subject, but I just wanted to recap and summarize everything we went over in the video so you can look your absolute best while cheering on your home team!

The very first thing I do when getting ready is apply Neutrogena Shine Control Primer to my face. This keeps my skin from looking shiny, makes sure my makeup stays in place, and evens out the redness in my skin! Next I apply my Garnier BB cream and blend it into my skin. I am loving this BB cream because it matches my skin tone perfectly! Next I brush my Bare Minerals powder over my skin with my Royal brushes (which I am in love with, BTW!), and then apply my “Radiance” blush by MAC. After that I style my eyebrows using my Royal brushes again! Next I apply eyelid primer by “The Balm” and eye shadow by NYX called “Love In Florence”. To finish my makeup off, I add some liquid eyeliner and mascara by The Balm and some Nivea “A Kiss of Cherry” lip balm!

And now for the hair! I recommend wearing your hair up. It will keep you from getting too hot! First, I lightly mist my hair with dry shampoo and then brush my hair so the dry shampoo absorbs all of the excess oils. Then I take my hair and put it into a loose low pony, make a hole in the middle, and then tuck it through! If you don’t like how that looks, just keep tucking it so it turns into a twisted bun.

Now,finally, the outfit! In my video I am wearing the jacket I won at BeautyCon, but to your football game I recommend you wear a school shirt. Wear something with your school name, mascot, or a shirt from a school sport you played! Top the outfit off with a cute pair of jeans and some trendy tennis shoes.
