Want to know the hot new ‘dos for this spring? Well then stay tuned, because I am going to give you the 4-1-1 on everything “in” this spring for your luscious locks! Here is the top three looks for this season.

  1. The “Queen Elsa” braid: “Frozen” made this hair style popular, although it was already an adorable look. It keeps your hair out of your face while still looking chic. Curl your hair loosely, then tease it up and braid it to achieve this look. You can wear this hair style with everything from cute to casual outfits!
  2. Beach waves: Beach waves are a warm-weather staple. So simple, so easy, so adorable! Stray some dry shampoo on BP9-2your layers and roots, then work in some “beach” hair spray. I use the “Not Your Mother’s” beachy spray! This look is casual and effortless!
  3. Pixie cut: This is the most drastic style of them all! Pixie cuts are coming back in style for the summer months. If you are feeling feisty, try out this daring ‘do!

Whip your hair back and forth, and show ‘em what you got!

I personally love the “boho” style. It is so urban and chic! Today I am going to teach you how to create your own boho turban headband, which can be worn with any casual outfit to add a little edge to your updo! Here are the steps to achieve this look:130995f96628c612c8f4490d0cb1ff5b

 1. Pick out a floral or printed scarf. The scarf should be about 60 inches long or longer, because it has to fit all the way around your head while folded in half! Fold the scarf in half equally so that the ends touch.

2. Take one end of your folded scarf in each hand. Place the middle section of the scarf at the back of your head and bring the ends towards your forehead. Take one of the loose ends of your scarf and place it through the loop of the scarf that is in your other hand.

4. After you have pulled one of the loose ends through the loop, tie the loose ends together at the top of your head. Tie it tight enough where it won’t move, but loose enough to where it is not hurting you.

5. Tuck the loose ends that you just tied together so that they do not show.

Super easy, right? Now you can go out and look like a boho babe. This accessory can be worn with a simple updo, such as a messy but, or you can even pair it with a braid! Experiment and see what you like best!

Having long hair is really trendy right now.  Long parted down the middle hair can be seen on almost every celebrity.  I’ve got really long, thick hair and it can get over-whelming sometimes.  If you have hair like me, then you don’t know what to do with it most days.  Do I Chelsea Crockett- long hair hollywood waveswear it up, down, parted to the middle, or parted to the side?  I’m here to take away that struggle!  Here are a few simple ways for a fresher look with your long hair.

The way you part your hair is the first step to creating your look: left, right, or straight down the middle.  You choose!  A great way to keep your long locks out of your face with still leaving your hair down is to wear it half up, half down.  Keep your part and grab a small chunk from each side and pin in the back.  You can even use bobby pins with rhinestones to create a dressier look.  Have fun with it!  If you’re running late in the morning, turn your head upside down and spray lots of hair spray.  Give your head a good shake and there you go!  This will give you that messy look and lots of volume.

Chelsea Crockett- long hair half up half downAnother fun way to wear your long hair is to go old school Hollywood glam.  Curl your hair into tight curls and pull the section of your hair opposite your part and pin it behind your ears.  It’s perfect for a school dance or special occasion.  Experiment with your long hair, there are so many possibilities!

Girls have to go through a lot, I know, oily skin, shaving, and worst of all, frizzy hair.  No matter what I do, my hair has little flyaways that I have no control of that only get worse when I step outside.  Whether it’s when I wake up or go to sleep, my hair tends to be frizzy during all hours of the day!

Now if you’re like me, you have a full head of hair.  My locks are super thick which makes it even harder to contain and take care of.  There are far too many serums Chelsea Crockett - Moroccan Oiland oils to try and find out which ones work and which don’t.  One secret most don’t know, is that towels actually contribute to the frizziness of your hair.  Instead of wrapping your hair in a towel after you shower, try wrapping it in an old t shirt and even try sleeping in it.  Although this is recommended more for girls with curly hair, any hair type will work as well.  Another secret is to take a very small amount of lotion and rub it on your hands.  After that, run them over your ends and see the magic happen.  But don’t take too much or your hair will look greasy, yuck!

Probably my favorite product to reduce this problem is Moroccan Oil.  Although it’s a little pricey, it’s definitely worth checking out.  It makes my hair feel extremely soft and gives it a shiny look.  I hope this helps you out!

Hey insiders!  Every girl wants to know how to get their hair soft, shiny, and most importantly, healthy.  With endless treatments of various shampoos and gels, it gets frustrating trying to find successful ways to treat your hair.  What girls don’t look for are the things you can do at home without expensive products.  Here are a few secrets to getting those healthy locks.Chelsea Crockett - Hair

First, condition your ends each time your hair is damp or wet even if you don’t shampoo it each time you’re in the shower.  This helps with tangles and also keeps your hair moisturized.  I hate when my hair feels dried out, so this tip definitely solves the problem.

Second, let your hair flow every once and a while.  Pulling back your hair on a daily basis creates damage and causes your strands to break.  If you’re the kind of person who relies on up-dos, try pinning your hair up with clips or pins.  Avoiding elastic bands will decrease the breakage in your hair.

Lastly, monitor the amount of heat applied on your hair.  Too much of anything can be bad so avoid straightening or curling your hair every day.  Try putting it into a simple braid or, if you can, leave it natural.

Along with these, there are many more secrets to discover in order to receive healthy, beautiful hair.  I hoped this helped and good luck!

Do you have shoulder length hair and long to have a long, luscious pony tail like the ones you see in the movies? I have a secret trick on how to trick people into thinking that you have a longer, fuller pony tail. Check it out!

First, loosely curl your hair to give it some body. Next, tease the crown of your hair and smooth it out. Pull the top half of your hair up into a high pony tail. Next, pull the bottom half of your hair into another ponytail in the middle of your hair. Spread the top ponytail out so that it covers up the bottom ponytail. Because you have a low pony on the bottom, it makes you look like you have looooong hair! Cool illusion, a4670dd63d87a6dfd550c1dc20635583right? Tie a sleek bow onto the top pony to add a girly touch to it! I have worn this chic style to everything from weddings to church!

Hi Girls,

Getting your haircut can be a nerve-racking process.  Whether you’re getting a trim or cutting it all off, it’s still a change.  Here are a few helpful tips for a worry free salon trip!Chelsea Crockett- hair lengths

  • Bring a picture!  There’s no better inspiration for a hair dresser than to see the vision herself!  This way you’ll be sure to get the cut, color, and style you want!
  • Ask about your shampoo and conditioner options.  Some salons just use the basics, but if you ask, they should be able to use a color treatment shampoo or sulfate free shampoo.
  • Don’t be afraid to speak up if you don’t like what you see.  Many people feel like they will offend their stylist if they ask him/her to change or stop something.  It’s your hair and you want to like the end product.
  • When you’re finished with your cut and color, ask for style tips!  It never hurts to get a few cute and new ideas for your hair.  You can never have too many hair styles!
  • Make sure you keep up with your hair and get trims.  Dead ends make your hair look lifeless, dull, and dry.  Who wants that?!

Good luck with your next hair cut!

Do any of you brush your hair in the morning and feel like you are losing entirely too much hair? I know the feeling. When you start shedding hair, it is obnoxious! I find my hair EVERYWHERE! My parents do too :P. What I didn’t know is that you can use coffee to stop your hair from shedding! You can use any caffeine product, actually, because caffeine blocks the hormone responsible for hair loss, dihydrotestosterone (try saying that 5 times fast!). Want fuller, thicker hair? Try a coffee rinse!

How to do a coffee rinse:

coffee

1.Brew your coffee and let it cool. How much you will need will depend on how long and thick your hair is.

2. Rinse your hair with water to get it wet and then squeeze the excess water out. Using a pitcher, pour the coffee over your hair while using a second bowl to catch the excess coffee. Pour the coffee that you have caught in your bowl over your hair, catch the extra again, and then pour it over your hair once more for a total of 3 rinses.

3. Let the coffee sit on your hair for a few minutes and then rinse it out. If you have lighter hair, then do not leave the coffee in as long because it can discolor your hair a bit!

4. Shampoo and condition as you usually would.

Try this awesome rinse and let me know how it works out for you!

            Hello lovelies!

As you can tell, I love learning about and trying new makeup and skin products.  Not only do I like experimenting with new cosmetics, but hair products, too!  Argan oil and Moroccan oil are both products that are designed to make your hair softer, healthier, and shinier.  So, what’s the difference?  Which one is better?  If you’re looking for an answer, read below!

Argan oil is a gold oil extracted from the Argan tree.  It’s all natural and provides many health benefits.  This type of oil not only helps treat split-ends but other unwanted blemishes such as acne and dry skin.  It contains many fatty acids and high levels of Vitamin E which work to clear up spilt ends.  If you’re interested, click here! Chelsea Crockett - Moroccan Oil

Moroccan oil only barely differs from Argan oil.  The only difference is that Moroccan oil is made with added substances and ingredients such as Aloe.  Because it’s a less pure form of Argan oil, this may play a factor in which you would rather buy.  Although it’s not as pure, Moroccan oil still has many of the great benefits of Argan oil.  You can buy it here:http://tiny.cc/Moroccan_Oil.

So… which one do I prefer?  You can’t go wrong with either of them, but if I had to choose I would pick Argan oil.  Which one do you prefer?  Tell me below!

If you’ve been up to date with my recent YouTube videos, you can see that I’ve been curling my hair a lot lately.  Not only because I like the look of it, but I’ve also discovered a few new wands that I’m absolutely in LOVE with!  They’re by the brand NuMe and are perfect for any type of hair.  Here are my two favorites:

Number one: the reverse wand!  This is by far my favorite wand to use.  Instead of the typical wand shape that gets thinner towards the bottom, this wand is simply the opposite.  Hints the “reverse” wand:)!  Instead of starting thicker and thinning out, it goes from thin to thick.  Chelsea Crockett - Titan 3This creates looser curls toward the bottom which I love!  Did I mention I’m obsessed?

Chelsea Crockett – Titan 3umero dos: the Titan 3 curling set!  This wand comes with three different sizes, so you can pick and choose which one you’re feeling that day.  If you want to see it in use, click over to my channel and watch my video entitled “Blake Lively Inspired Hair Tutorial!”

One of the most annoying things I notice every time winter rolls around is how staticky my hair tends to get!  Every morning when I put on a jacket my hair starts to stand up, so annoying!  I’ve recently discovered some ways to help reduce the amount of static in my hair.  Read below to see how you can put these tips into use!

  1. Use dryer sheets.  Sounds crazy I know, but trust me it works!  Run a sheet through your comb, brush, or even through your hair.
  2. Use metal or rubber combs.  Plastic combs are one of the worst contributors to static, so it makes sense to avoid them!
  3. Try using frizz control hair products such as sprays and serums. Chelsea Crockett - Control Freak Serum These will help reduce the frizz in your hair (obviously), but will decrease the amount of static in your hair, as well.  One product I highly suggest is the Control Freak Serum by Bed Head by TIGI.  To check it out, click here!
  4. Wash your hair with a hydrating shampoo.  Our hair tends to dry-out during the winter months due to the coldness, and dryness of the weather.  You have to keep your hair extra hydrated for a closer step to static-free hair!
  5. Spray your brush/comb lightly with hairspray before running it through your hair.  Then just brush from roots to ends!  It’s that simply!

With these tips you can say good-bye to frizz and hello to static-free hair!

Need some quick volume for your hair? Are you always short on time? Well here is a super quick, super easy way to get fast volume that is sure to add sass to any outfit. Want the deets? Scroll on!

Okay, so is it just me or do some of you have moms who walk around the house wearing ridiculous rollers in their hair? Or worse, do they drive you hair rollersplaces while wearing them? Have no fear, I am not going to make you wear rollers out in public, but I am going to suggest you wear them in the comfort of your home! The best way to get super volume in your hair is to take your damp but almost dry hair and put the top layer in giant Velcro rollers. Use metal roller clips to hold the rollers in your hair.  Once you have the hair in rollers, use a blow dryer to warm the hair in the curlers and blow dry them for about 5 minutes. After you have blow dried them, leave the curlers in for another 10 minutes to let the hair cool down. Spritz them with hair spray and then take the rollers out. You should have some loose, large curls/waves. Rock this easy, voluptuous hair style wherever you go to show super sass!

Who doesn’t love a trip to the salon? Getting your hair done can give you a bounce in your step! There are a few things you need to take care of before you go to the salon to make sure you get the most out of your visit! Stay tuned to hear the deets.

  1. Research salons: The first thing you need to do is do your research. Check which salons have the best prices, the best service, the closest to your home, all that jazz! Some salons offer deals around the holidays, so you
  2. k13024915could even find coupons or special offers that will save you money! Read the reviews on the salons to see what other people say about them.
  3. Find photos: The only person who really knows what you want is YOU! The best way to ensure that your stylist knows EXACTLY what you want is by bringing her pictures of what you want. My favorite place to look is Pinterest! Also, when you bring in a picture the stylist can give you advice on whether that hair style is a good choice for you.
  4. Book your appointment: In order to make sure that you have the time that you need, book your appointment a few days ahead of time.  Also, make sure you are on time!! if you are late, the stylist cannot take their time and do your hair the best they can, and it is also mega rude to be late! It is a waste of their time and yours.

Make sure to keep these tips in mind when you are planning a trip to the salon!

Repair Unwanted Summer Damage

Hey everyone!  With summer coming to a close, we want to make sure we’re looking our best for the upcoming school year.  Throughout the summer, our skin and hair receive unwanted damage from too many days in the pool and sun.  Luckily, with the help of developed products, you can easily fix your dead skin and body cells!

I know most of us love swimming and days at the pool, but of course, too much of anything is never good.  Most pools contain chlorine which creates some bad effects on our bodies.  Chlorine dries out your skin and hair and even brings redness to your eyes.  To fix your post-pool hair, try using the Philip Kingsley Swimcap.  This cream repairs the dried and damaged parts of your hair and also protects it from the sun next time you take a dip at the pool.  Even members of the U.S. Olympic Swim Team use this, so you know it’s the real deal.

As far as skin goes, getting too much sun can end up in a nasty sunburn.  Sunburns damage the cells on your body and even worse, on your face.  The perfect solution to help cool the burn is aloe.  You can find aloe almost anywhere, but finding aloe for your face is tricky.  If you’re like me, you’ll need something that’s good on sensitive skin.  Clinique’s “After-Sun Rescue Balm with Aloe” is oil-free and calms sun-exposed skin.  To help your cracked lips, try either EOS or Burt’s Bees’ Conditioning Balm.  Both products will soothe the burning feeling and repair the damage in your lips.Chelsea Crockett - Repair Summer Damage

Hey girlies!  L’Oreal is one of my favorite hair and makeup brands with its great quality and awesome products.  They’ve been in business for years, but I’ve just recently heard about their “Total Repair 5” hair treatment.

For full effect, it includes a shampoo, conditioner, and damage-erasing balm.  Even just the shampoo itself gives you already noticeable soft hair.  Each product in the treatment contains ceramide which is a type of lipid that benefits your hair.  Whenever you use a certain product that contains ceramide, it restores the natural properties of your hair, making it smoother and softer.  Without ceramide, your hair would be damaged and dry.

Both the shampoo and conditioner worChelsea Crockett - Damage Erasing Balmk amazing, but the damage-erasing balm is where most of the magic happens.  It instantly repairs the five signs of damage: 1.Split Ends 2.Weak 3.Rough 4.Full 5.Dehydrated.  While you’re in the shower, all you have to do is message it through your hair and let it sit for 3-5 minutes.  It’s as simple as that!

Another product of the series is the Multi-Restorative Dry Oil.  This is a daily leave-in treatment that works continuously throughout the day.  Apply this oil to damp hair and style your hair as you usually would.  This will make your hair shine and tame those unwanted flyaways!

Good luck with those luscious locks!Wink
