Music festivals are the perfect opportunity to dress up in your most stylish festival gear and take lots of pics with your friends!  Although rocking a cute outfit and glamorous makeup is important, you’ll need a hairstyle to complete your look, as well.  Since festivals can often be hot and sweaty, here are 5 perfect hairstyles for the occasion!

  • Braided Top Buns. Chelsea Crockett - Braided Top Buns Like the picture on the right, a braided top buns look is super cute!  It’s a good hairstyle to keep hair out of your face which helps when you’re out in the sun!
  • Half-Up Loose Bun.  Contrary to top nots and tight high ponytails, loose, messy buns are totally in.  It’s okay if your hair is a little messy, it’s supposed to be with this look!
  • A Jeweled Headpiece.  When it comes to festivals, there’s pretty much no such thing as “going too all out.”  Buy a simple jeweled headpiece and try it out for yourself!
  • Center Part Double Braids.  Ohhh, the double braids trend… It’s still alive and thriving!  This is a perfect option for hot weather and dancing to your favorite bands!
  • Glitter Roots.  This is a new trend that is SO cute and fun!  You can look up all the different ways you can do this on Pinterest or YouTube.  You can add lots of glitter or only a little, whatever you want!

Which hairstyle are you going to try out?  Let me know below and what festival you’re attending, as well!  Maybe I’ll see you there :).

Thinking about cutting your hair? Well, spring is the perfect time to do it!  With warm weather on its way, why not take off a few inches to lighten your load? 🙂 Here are the best hairstyles for the upcoming season based on the length and texture of your hair!

  • For short hair, sharpness is everything this season.  Chelsea Crockett - Short BobThe picture on the right is the perfect example of a blunt, short bob that is a perfect go-to cut if you’re wanting a short style.  Although her hair is wavy in the picture, you can tell her ends are sharp and clean-cut.  This style looks good with wavy or straight hair, so almost anyone can rock it!
  • Ever heard of a lob?  For medium-length hair, try out a long bob!  Lobs are perfect for hair textures that aren’t the best with holding curls.  You don’t need pin straight hair or tight curls with this look.  Add in a little texture and let it do its job!  It works like magic.
  • For long hair, layer up!  Layered, textured ends are super low maintenance and easy to take care of.  You won’t have to spend hours in the morning making sure your ends look okay!  If you layer your ends, you won’t have to overapply heat to make sure your hair looks perfect.  Just let it fall!

If you’re thinking about getting a haircut, I hope this helped you figure out the look you want!

Hairstyles for Hiding Your Bangs

Sometimes you try something new with your hair and end up loving it.  Other times, taking a risk with your hair can be something you regret!  Depending on the person, they can love or hate their bangs.  Or maybe they simply get tired of them!  I know they can take a while to grow out, so here are a few hairstyles for hiding your bangs!

When it comes to bangs, braids can be your best friend.  There are so many different styles of braids that will help hide your bangs and are also super stylish! Chelsea Crockett - Braid Top Knot If you want to keep it simple, French braiding your bangs and bobby pinning them on the side of your head is an easy solution.  One of my favorite looks is the braided topknot like the picture on the left.  As long as you can master the look, it turns out super cute!

If you haven’t invested in any accessories, then you should start!  Hats and headbands are perfect for hiding bangs (and for fixing a bad hair day!).  Purchase a few that you can switch up with different outfits and you’re good to go!

Another quick way to style your bangs is by drying your hair a certain way.  Training your part to go the opposite way can be hard, but by doing this you can master the flipped hairstyle.  This will allow your bangs to blend with your hair better along with using some product to seal the deal.

If you’re regretting getting bangs, then I hope this helps!

As a runner, I know how hard it is to find hair styles that work for working out. When I am running, I hate the feeling of my ponytail swooping back and forth, I hate it when braids hit my back, and I cannot stand hair in my face! There are only a few hair styles I approve of when going on a run for those reasons. Here are my favs!

  1. Low pony: This is the easiest style of them all. Low ponies are better than high because they don’t swoosh around when you’re running. They’re quick to do, and to keep the flyaway hairs out of your face add in a headband.hair
  2. French braid: This one is my go-to running style. I love it because, like a low ponytail, it doesn’t swoosh around when you run, and the braid keeps the hair off of your neck and off of your forehead. Plus it is super cute!
  3. Mini Ponies: This last style is the most complicated, but that being said it is still very easy to do. It is great for ladies with long hair or lots of layers. Grab the section of hair at the top of your head into ponytail. Tie it with an elastic. Gather another section further down and secure it into an elastic, including the top section. Keep this going until you secure the final ponytail with a more durable band.

Having my hair secured while I run is essential for me to have a successful workout. Without having to worry about my hair falling out or getting in my face I am free to run as I please!

Ladies, if you have a dude in your life then odds are you try to keep him in mind when you are getting ready to see him. Do you ever wonder what sort of hair style your dude prefers? Well, here are a few hair styles that, according to surveys, guys like the most.

  1. Soft waves: Reportedly, guys like hair that is wavy and soft. It looks feminine and sweet! Curl your hair with a big barrel curling iron and then separate the curls with your fingers to achieve this look.FB3A9969-X2
  2. Natural hair: If your hair has a natural texture to it, flaunt it! According to dudes, the less “torture” you put your hair through the better.
  3. Easy updoo: This can range from a simple bun to a curly creation! Guys like the casual yet glamorous look this gives off.
  4. Beachy bedhead: Not only do girls love beachy waves, guys do too! They say it looks fun and carefree.
  5. Sporty pony: It never occurred to me that guys liked the laid back look, but apparently a lot of guys like sporty high ponies!

Now, ladies, you should never let a guy dictate how you think and feel about yourself. This list was just to show you a few looks that the dude in your life might fancy.

You do you, and he will be head over heels!

Guide to the Perfect Prom Hairdo

Ahhh, prom… The one night us girls look forward to the minute we start high school. It isn’t easy finding the perfect dress, the perfect date, the perfect shoes, etc. But what can be made easy is finding the perfect hairstyle to top off your look! Here’s a little guide I put together to hopefully make your prom a little less stressful!

Sometimes a big, sparkly dress needs a simple hairstyle to balance the look. A style, like the one on the left, is one of my favorite styles I’ve seen on Pinterest. This do is elChelsea Crockett - Prom Hairstyleegant and looks good on strapped or strapless dresses. Add a pair of dangle earrings and complete your ensemble with a gorgeous pair of heels :).

Another look that many girls don’t think to go for is a messy braid. You might be thinking, “I want my hair to look anything but messy,” but I promise it’s not what you’re thinking! I suggest this look for girls with longer hair. The way I’d go about this is doing a partial French braid, starting down the back of your head. Then tease your hair and leave some strands of hair hanging around the frame of your face. Just play with it until you find the perfect look!

Up-dos are often the go-to look for prom but why not be different and leave your gorgeous locks down? Depending on the person, middle parts can be hard, and sometimes awkward, to pull off. In my opinion, middle parts are more formal and can be dressed up! Try it out a couple days before your prom day to make sure this look works on you.

Step out of your comfort zone and try something new for prom! Have fun insiders :).

For homecoming, us girls don’t only need a stunning dress and a fancy pair of heels, but a gorgeous hairstyle, as well! For prom, I usually like to go to a salon and have my hair fixed, but for homecoming, I like to try new ideas that I can style myself.  So… I decided to put together a few of my favorite looks.Chelsea Crockett - Loose Curls

If you have long hair, you might want to try some beachy waves with a wand! Take half of your hair in the front and pin it back with bobby pins. Be sure to tease the upper portion of the back of your hair. Make sure your waves are messy yet dressy like the style on the right!

Another look for medium to long hair is a lower messy bun.  You can leave some pieces out to frame around your face.  Tease the back of your hair slightly and wrap the hair into a messy bun.  I love to google images of messy buns and then reenact them on my own hair.  You can also find tutorials all over the internet to help you get just the right look!

For those of you with super short hair, headbands are really in and fun to add to your look. They can be casual or elegant.  Be sure to shop for a headband that matches your dress. They’re stylish and let you do something fun with your hair!

Whatever your look is, enjoy your evening!  High school goes by so quickly….make the most of it!

Everyone loves a good top-knot bun hair-do, am I right? This style is safe for just about any occasion! I found a way to spruce up your basic every day top-knot. Introducing: The twisted top-knot! Here is how to achieve this unique look.

First, pull half of your hair up into a high pony, and then do the same with the other half, so you have two high-ponies. Take one of your pony tails and divide it into two sections. Twist each section, and then twist the two topknot6sections around each other. Secure the twist on the end with an elastic. Clip the twist off to the side so that it doesn’t come un-twisted, and then repeat the above steps to the other ponytail. Once you have the end of both twisted ponies, one in each hand, then twist them around each other until you have formed your top-knot! Once they are fully twisted, pin the twists to your head with bobby pins! This hair style can be achieved super quick, so it is perfect for mornings that you are running a bit behind, or those mornings you just don’t feel like working too hard on your tresses.

Add spunk to your ensemble with this cute ‘do!

Did you know that there are certain hair styles that look the best with certain necklines? When you are wearing a formal dress, it is always a pain to try and figure out what kind of hair style will look best with it. No worries, I have come up with a guide to which hair styles look best with each neckline, whether it is a v-neck or one shoulder dress!

1. Strapless:When you wear a strapless gown, wear your hair all down. Curl it and pull the front back out of your eyes, but leave the rest down!

2. V-Neck: When you are wearing a v-neck dress, wear your hair half up.

3. One Shoulder: When wearing a one shoulder gown, wear a side pony on the oposite side of the strap of the gown. This balances out your look! To add some pazazz to the side pony, french briad the back of your hair and then tie it off into a ponytail.

4. High Collar: I love high collar dresses. I think they are just so elegant! When you wear a high collared dress, wear your hair completely pulled up. This allows your pretty neckline to show and doesn’t distrat any attention from your dress!

These tips work with any neckline, not just formal dresses! Try out these tips and see what you think!

Have you ever heard of a crown braid? They can be really tricky, but they are so chic! Today I am going to teach you how to do a half crown braid. This hair style can be worn in both casual and formal settings.

1. Style your hair how you prefer it, whether it is straightened or curled.

2. Take the hair from the front section from one side of your head and braid it. Tie the end with a clear elastic. Do the same to the other side of your face. You should now have two braids that hang down on each side of your face. These braids should be relatively small.

3. Take one of the braids and pull it across the back of your head and secure the end with a bobby pin. Next, take the other braid and pull it across

the back of your head, just like you did with the first. Tuck the ends of this one under the beginning of the first braid to hide the ends. Pin the ends with a bobby pin. Hair spray your ‘do to keep it secure!

Braids are always a super chic, easy option of pulling your hair back! Try this hairstyle and see how much you will love it!

I don’t know if you all love bows, but I sure do. There is just something so fun and flirty and feminine about them! Today I am going to tell you how to create a super cute hair style where you use your hair to create a bow! Read on!

1. Pull your hair into the half-up half-down style, pulling the hair roughly from ear to ear. The more hair you take the bigger the bow will be!

 2. When you are pulling your hair back into the half-up half-down ponytail, once you have wrapped the ponytail holder around your hair twice, don’t pull the hair all the way through. Leave your hair in the loop/bubble position. Face the hair that is sticking out of the bubble towards your forehead.

 3. Split your bubble in half. This is what is making both sides of the bow! Take the hair that is sticking out of the bubble, the ends of your hair, and pull it down the middle where you split your hair. Hold it in place.

4. Use bobby pins to secure the bow and pin any stray hairs into the bow. Mist with hair spray.

Easy, right? I am adding pictures for you visual people, sometimes seeing done helps you do it yourself!

Want to know the hot new ‘dos for this spring? Well then stay tuned, because I am going to give you the 4-1-1 on everything “in” this spring for your luscious locks! Here is the top three looks for this season.

  1. The “Queen Elsa” braid: “Frozen” made this hair style popular, although it was already an adorable look. It keeps your hair out of your face while still looking chic. Curl your hair loosely, then tease it up and braid it to achieve this look. You can wear this hair style with everything from cute to casual outfits!
  2. Beach waves: Beach waves are a warm-weather staple. So simple, so easy, so adorable! Stray some dry shampoo on BP9-2your layers and roots, then work in some “beach” hair spray. I use the “Not Your Mother’s” beachy spray! This look is casual and effortless!
  3. Pixie cut: This is the most drastic style of them all! Pixie cuts are coming back in style for the summer months. If you are feeling feisty, try out this daring ‘do!

Whip your hair back and forth, and show ‘em what you got!

I personally love the “boho” style. It is so urban and chic! Today I am going to teach you how to create your own boho turban headband, which can be worn with any casual outfit to add a little edge to your updo! Here are the steps to achieve this look:130995f96628c612c8f4490d0cb1ff5b

 1. Pick out a floral or printed scarf. The scarf should be about 60 inches long or longer, because it has to fit all the way around your head while folded in half! Fold the scarf in half equally so that the ends touch.

2. Take one end of your folded scarf in each hand. Place the middle section of the scarf at the back of your head and bring the ends towards your forehead. Take one of the loose ends of your scarf and place it through the loop of the scarf that is in your other hand.

4. After you have pulled one of the loose ends through the loop, tie the loose ends together at the top of your head. Tie it tight enough where it won’t move, but loose enough to where it is not hurting you.

5. Tuck the loose ends that you just tied together so that they do not show.

Super easy, right? Now you can go out and look like a boho babe. This accessory can be worn with a simple updo, such as a messy but, or you can even pair it with a braid! Experiment and see what you like best!

Hey girls!  We all know how much I love trying out new hairstyles and what’s a better time than summer?  Whether you wear it up or down, there’s always a cute and stylish way to show off those beautiful locks!

One of the first looks I go to is the messy or high bun.  They’re easy to throw up and work with any outfit.  One of the best things about a bun is that it’s okay for them to look messyWink.  Just throw it up and wear it how you want!

Another one of my on-the-go styles is a side braid.  Along with being super easy, you can make it your own by doing the many different styles there are.  Fishtailing and French braiding are just a couple ideas on how to make your braid fun and unique!

Chelsea Crockett - Beach WavesLast but definitely not least, are beach waves.  I absolutely love this look because it gives off the summer feel and adds the beachy look to your sun kissed tan.  At almost any beauty salon you can find a spray to help give you that ocean air vibe.

These are just a few summer styles for you to try out this season! Hope this helps!
