You know the phrase “you can’t wear white after Labor Day”? Throw that rule out the window. It is always a good day to wear white! There are so many great ways to style white that don’t require the weather to be spring or summer. From sweaters to jeans to handbags and dresses, you name it, you can wear it in white. As long as you incorporate other elements that match the outside temps, like a scarf or layers, then you are good to go. Here are 4 ways to rock winter whites.

  1. Bell-sleeve dress: I love the bohemian/retro look of bell-sleeve dresses. Because they are long-sleeved, you can wear them in the chilly weather when paired with some booties. You could even pull on a pair of nylon tights and a vest if you want to add some extra warmth to the ensemble. autumn-hippie-bell-sleeve-dress-free-femininos-people-white-embroidery-vintage-long-maxi-dresses-women-boho
  2. White handbag: White handbags look so fresh and clean. They add a clean pop of style to any ensemble, and they go with everything!i_216655328_01_20150226
  3. Distressed white jeans: The great thing about white jeans is that you can them year-round. I also love all of the outfit possibilities they bring! Plus, when you add in the distressed look, you add a little extra dimensions You can wear them with an army jacket and black booties for an edgy look, or if you want to keep it simple, pair them with a loose neutral-colored oversized sweater and brown leather booties.winter_white3
  4. White sweater: White sweaters come in all shapes and sizes. You can layer them or wear them by themselves. I love a crisp white cardigan because they are totally versatile, and I love an oversized white sweater that goes with almost any color of pants.eb80c430f7c013fe29312c0b5702fc90

If you haven’t noticed, studs are one of the most popular trends of 2013.  They are on everything and can be worn year round.  Celebrities, like Kendall and Kylie Jenner, have even been seen wearing studs on their handbags, shoes, and even their nails.  I’ll break down a few of my favorite styles with studs.  You can’t go wrong!

One of my favorite places to wear studs is on my boots, jackets, and high waisted shorts.  Black and brown leather boots are always a fashion must, but adding studs will enhance your style to the max!  Your look will go from average to edgy in seconds.  Another fun place for studs is on the shoulder of jackets.  Forever21 has an endless supply of leather and army jackets with cool stud accents on the shoulders and arms.  Wear them on cool summer nights with high waisted shorts embellished with studs on the pockets or sides, or in the winter with your favorite studded boots. Chelsea Crockett- studded

One of the most popular places for studs to be seen is on purses.  It adds so much detail to an otherwise dull handbag.  The metallic studs pop on any shade of leather or cloth and take any outfit from drab to fab.  A studded purse is so easy to throw on with any outfit and is super cute too!  Don’t be afraid to be daring and add studs to your daily look.  They are so fun!  Check out a few of my favorites below!

It’s a proven fact: between food, lifestyle, and fashion, French women have got it right!  With their effortless, yet put together style, the French have got the fashion scene covered.  Although many of us may not live in France, that doesn’t mean we can’t bring their cool, casual style to our country!  Check out how to have your own chic, French-inspired look!Chelsea Crockett- French Street Style

Start with the minimum and then add accessories as you go.  Try a pastel colored sundress with a pair of Mary Jane flats or some boyfriend jeans, a sheer button up and bralette, and a pair of light colored sneakers.  Of course you can always up your look by adding a pair of pointed toe heels.  Next, add a colorful printed scarf and chic handbag.  To complete your look, throw on a pair of cat-eyed sunglasses and a wide brimmed hat!

Try looking up pictures of French street style to complete your own outfit!  Good luck completing the perfect French outfit, or as the French would say bon chance!

Choosing The Right Bag For Your Body Type

Have you ever been shopping for a hand bag and thought “I wonder which kind of bag is best for my body type”? Here is the answer to that puzzling question!

For the petite Insider – Petite girls should choose bags that are not too big or bulky. Big bags tend to overpower the small frame of petite ladies, so smaller girls need to go for longer bags such as a rectangular tote to make their torso appear longer! Petite girls should also avoid over-sized bags because they tend to weigh down their small frame. Petite ladies should avoid large prints on the bag as well and go for vertical stripes and monochromatic colors.

For the tall and skinny Insider – The model type can get away with almost anything. We short ladies envy you! The tall and skinny girl can chose just about any handbag type, but just remember to avoid too small bags and choose rounded or slouchy bags to flatter your figure.  Colorful bags also flatter their body type. Long sling bags are also perfect for the tall, skinny ladies out there!

For the curvy-licious Insider – Curvy ladies should avoid rounded bags as it tends to make them look even curvier.  If they like carrying shoulder bags, curvy girls should avoid bags that sit below the waist. The bag should always end just above the waist!

For the pear-shaped Insider – This is the most common body type for women! The pear shape body type has wider hips and a small torso, which makes it the most flattering shape among all body types. You can make the most out of this shape by carrying a bag that avoids the hip area.  Hobo bags are the best bet for these ladies!

Hopefully this comes in handy next time you are hand bag shopping!

Pastels, They Aren’t Just for the Spring Anymore!

Hi Insiders,

Pastel colors have been making a name for themselves this winter.  What once used to be only for spring is now making its way to the colder months.  Although a full on pastel outfit probably isn’t the best way to style this trend, there are a few great ways to incorporate these soft colors in your everyday winter wardrobe.

Mint green and light pink are two of my favorite pastel colors right now.  The mint green is especially good for winter. Adding fun pastel colored accessories to your wardrobe is a great way to change things up.  Try wearing a soft colored chunky necklace with a cream or grey sweater.  Even try throwing on a light pink cross body with your winter pea coat.  Another great way to add a little pastel to your outfit is to wear a subtle pair of pastel studs.  This will add a touch of color toChelsea Crockett- pastel outfit any outfit.

If you’re willing to be a little more daring, try a mint green dress!  Pair it with black or nude tights and a cardigan.  Even throw on a light colored sweater with cream skinny pants.  These outfits will really standout against the white winter snow!  If you’re going to be outside for a while throw on a pastel scarf, hat, or ear warmer.  There’s nothing cuter than fashionable winter gear!  If you’re wearing a pastel outfit and want to add jewelry, pearls are the way to go!  You don’t want to add bold metal jewelry to soft-toned colors.  Keep it light!  Don’t be afraid to incorporate some of your spring items into your winter wardrobe.  You never know when you’ll inspire someone else to change up their look!

Love,
