Peppermints are as festive as it gets. No matter what time of year it is, the smell of peppermints never gets old. It is so refreshing! The ornaments I am going to teach you how to make are totally festive, totally adorable, and totally perfect for any Christmas tree! And, not to mention, totally cheap!

What you need:

  • Peppermint candiesimg_8938
  • Metal cookie cutters
  • Non-stick cooking spray
  • Parchment paper

Directions:

Preheat your oven to 350 degrees. Line a cookie sheet with parchment paper and then spray the inside of your cookie cutters with cooking spray. Lay the cookie cutters on the cookie sheet and fill them with peppermint candies. Squeeze as many peppermints side by side into the cookie cutters. If you layer the candies on top of each other the ornaments will be thicker and stronger. Bake the sheets for 5 to 10 minutes and keep an eye on the candy as it melts. Remove the tray from the oven when the candies have melted together. Lightly coat a toothpick with cooking spray and use it to make a hole in each group of candies. Let the candy sit inside the cookie cutters until it hardens and cools. Once it has hardened, carefully stretch out the cookie cutter and gently pull the cookie cutter away and pop the candy out.

Now all you have to do is string some ribbon through the holed in ornaments and then decorate with them! They will fill your house with a fresh, peppermint scent and they will also add some color to your tree!

            Hey everyone!

Christmas is right around the corner and we all love a good Christmas cookie!  Here are two peanut butter and chocolate cookie recipes that are quick and delicious!  The first recipe is for Peanut Butter Blossoms:Chelsea Crockett - Peanut Butter Blossoms

Ingredients
½ cup granulated sugar
1 cup packed brown sugar
1 cup creamy peanut butter
1 cup butter or margarine, softened
2 eggs
3 cups Gold Medal® all-purpose flour
1 ½ teaspoons baking soda
1 teaspoon baking powder
Additional granulated sugar (about 2 tablespoons)
About 7 dozen Hershey’s® Kisses® Brand milk chocolates
Directions
1. Heat oven to 375°F. In large bowl, beat 1/2 cup granulated sugar, the brown sugar, peanut butter, butter and eggs with electric mixer on medium speed, or mix with spoon. Stir in flour, baking soda and baking powder.
2. Shape dough into 1-inch balls; roll in additional granulated sugar. Place about 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet.
3. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until edges are light brown. Immediately press 1 chocolate candy in center of each cookie. Remove from cookie sheet to wire rack.

The next recipe is for Chocolate Chip cookies with a half of Reese’s Peanut Butter Cup.  This recipe is super easy and everyone will think you went to a lot of work!  Here is the recipe:

Ingredients
1 package of Toll House cookie squares
1 bag of small Reese’s Peanut Butter Cups (cut in half)
1 package of paper cupcake holders
Directions
Line a cupcake pan with liners. Place one square of cookies dough in the liner and bake about 8 minutes. Then add half a peanut butter cup to the middle of each cookie and bake for approximately 3 more minutes.  Remove from pan and place on wire rack to cool.

Mother’s Day is the perfect time for showing our moms just how much we appreciate them! Think of how much your mom has done for you without complaining and grumbling. Whether it was taking me to dance practice or dropping me at a friend’s house, my mom was happy to do it. Here are a few ‘do it yourself’ gifts to show a way of repaying them this Mother’s Day!

Chelsea Crockett - Painted PotsHere is a perfect suggestion for those who are a little more artistic! If your nearby pottery shop doesn’t sell one, find a different store where you can buy a pot. If you can find a white one, even better! Then buy some acrylic paints and go to town! After finishing your masterpiece, let it dry and add some of your mom’s favorite flowers. Don’t forget to keep them hydrated and in the sunlight!

For those who struggle with their artistic side, here is a perfect way to thank your mom for all she’s done. For the nights your mom has stayed up waiting for you to get home or taking care of you when you’re sick, make her a sleep basket. If your mom’s a tea drinker, get all different kinds of tea for her to make before bedtime (peppermint, green, lemon, etc.). Other things to put in the basket could include a candle, lotion, sleep mask, blanket, “do not disturb” sign, etc.

Another cute idea is to take a bunch of old family recipes and make them into one big cookbook! Or try a coupon book with things such as “good for one family game night/movie night” or “good for dinner cooked by me!” Stuff like that shows that the little things do count!

Comment below any other cool ideas you have in mind!  XO – Chels

            Hey insiders!

There are many beauty guidelines that we all follow during the winter.  If a fashion magazine says something’s good for your skin, we automatically believe it, right? Have you ever wondered whether they’re actually benefitting us?  Here are a few winter beauty myths everyone should know!

  • Applying lip balm over and over again is good for your lips.  FALSE!  Continuously applying your chap stick can actually harm your lips instead of help them.  They contain an ingredient that tricks you into thinking you need more and more of it, whichChelsea Crockett - Neutrogena Moisturizer is also false.  Try out a lip serum or cream that repairs your chapped, wintery lips.
  • There’s no need for sunscreen during the winter.  FALSE!  Just because the temperature’s lower doesn’t mean your skin’s not soaking up the sun’s rays.  If you can, try using moisturizer with SPF.  Neutrogena carries an oil-free moisturizer with 15 SPF which is just enough to keep you protected.  The sun will hit you just as hard as it will in the summer.  Don’t underestimate the sun!
  • Staying indoors as much as possible during the winter will help your skin.  FALSE!  You need fresh air as much as possible.  Yes, too much cold air can dry out your skin, but over-heated indoors can as well.  Putting a humidifier in your room can add a little moisture to the air and help hydrate your skin.

Hi Girls,

The holidays are one of my favorite times to dress up and look my best!  It’s the perfect time to throw on a new outfit, curl my hair, and go all out with my makeup.  So what type of makeup look should you go for?  I’ve got two makeup looks that will go with any holiday outfit!

My first holiday look reminds me of the cold winter weather and snow!  I love to wear deep blues, purples, and silver during the winter months.  Start by doing your foundation as you normally would.  Next, apply a light purple eye shadow to your eyelids adding a darker purple to the outer parts of your eyelids.  For added brightness, take a shimmery white or silver to your inner eye and along your bottom lashes.  This creates the illusion of brighter, sparkling eyes!  Complete your look with mascara and clear or nude lip gloss for an icy finish!Chelsea Crockett- red lipstick

The second holiday go-to makeup is a classic!  I love a red lip for the holidays!  Once again, apply your foundation as you normally would and add a hint of blush to your cheeks.  Next, go for a winged eye look for a classic twist.  Using liquid liner, start the line narrow, getting wider and wider as you go out.  Apply mascara and bold red lip stick and you’re good to go!  Have a wonderful holiday!

            Hey girls!

It’s the holiday we’ve been waiting for all year and it’s finally here!  One of the best things about the Christmas season, are the fun parties and gift-exchanges!  And along with these fun festivities, you’ll be in need of a stylish outfit.Chelsea Crockett - Style for the Season

Sporting a simple holiday dress is perfect for almost any occasion.  Maroon is a gorgeous color to wear for a dress and also gives off a holiday feel.  On the right, I paired a maroon lace dress from Target with a cream infinity scarf.  Some Chelsea Crockett - Sweatergold flats or cream boots will finish off the outfit.  For a more casual outing, try out a black blazer.  This can be paired with a red infinity scarf or a chunky necklace.  You can also wear a red peplum or some fun patterned pants to spice up your outfit.  Throw on some heels or boots to tie your get-up together.

In you want to go even more casual, over-sized cardigans are a huge trend right now!  I rocked this one with a pair of leggings, boots, and an infinity scarf.  You’ll be sure to catch the attention of all the guests at the party!

Christmas is coming! Prepare yourself for all things red, green, and peppermint flavored. You also need to start thinking about what kind of decorations you are going to Christmas-ify your houses with! I have a super easy, super fun way to add your own touch of personality to your decorations this Christmas!

What you will need:

-Clear glass ball ornamentsChelsea crockett ornaments

– Black Sharpie markers

That’s all you will need! I got my glass ornaments at Walmart for 3$.  For this fun DIY you just draw patterns on the glass ornaments with the Sharpies in whatever way you want. I recommend cleaning the ornaments before you draw on them, because all of the dirt and oils that are on them can make the Sharpie not want to stick to the ornament. Some examples of patterns that I drew are below! I went with a tribal sort of theme, but you can do whatever you please! That is the cool thing about this craft, you can totally customize it and make it your own! You can hang these spunky ornaments on your tree, put them in a bowl as a center piece, or even use them to decorate your mantle! The possibilities are endless! And you are going to be SO proud when you get to tell people that you made them yourself!

Comment below and tell me what you would put on YOUR ornaments!

            Hey girls!

It’s half-way through November, crazy right?  This month has flown by and December is creeping up faster than we know it!  I know I’m not the only one counting down the days till Christmas and school break.  One of my favorite things about this holiday season are the Christmas parties, gift-exchanges, and family gatherings.  We all know it’s true, every girl has trouble finding the perfect party dress.  So, here’s my guide on finding the perfect holiday party dress!Chelsea Crockett - Holiday Dresses

  1. Lace is one of those everlasting trends that you can’t go wrong with.  Try finding a dress or shirt that features lacey sleeves or accents.
  2. You’ll always be sure to stand out if you rock a little sparkle.  If you go the shimmery route, make sure you keep it balanced.  Too much shine can be overbearing, so keep it at a good amount.
  3. Try sporting holiday colors.  Navy blues, dark reds, and neutrals give off a great feel of the season.
  4. Add some accessories!  Chunky necklaces are super in right now and go great with a lace dress.  Also, don’t be afraid to break out the heels and wedges to dress up your outfit.

                                                        Happy holidays!
