Fashion month just ended…aka I’m having major FOMO! Even though I’m still waiting to attend a fashion week of my own, it didn’t stop me from constantly keeping up with the month of fashion. Between snapchats, magazines, and Instagram, I was fully kept up! A few designers that caught my eye were Betsey Johnson, Jeremy Scott, and Hood by Air. Their shows were so fun and lively, which got me thinking about Halloween. Keep on reading to find out how I got Halloween inspiration straight from the runway and a few pics to recreate the looks!

Betsey Johnson is known for her crazy patterns, energetic shows, and of course…closing every show with her famous splits! This year’s show was inspired by bright colors, flowers, and rainbows. This gave me major inspiration to be a 70’s flower power girl! Break out the bright eye shadow, hair crimper, bright flared jeans, and platform shoes!Chelsea Crockett- betsey johnson makeupChelsea Crockett- Betsey Johnson

I would love to get inside Jeremy Scott’s mind. His designs are genius and youthful. This year, Jeremy’s runway show made me think of 80’s disco girls. Start by teasing your hair as high as it’ll go, slip on a sequin dress, and throw on some heavy eyeliner! Now you’re the dancing queen!Chelsea Crockett- Jeremy ScottChelsea Crockett- Jeremy Scott Hair

The Hood by Air show as crazy! Instead of traditional contouring, they decided to contour without blending! This gave the models a very harsh, almost scary appearance. If you’re looking to be a zombie this year, try out this technique with any colors you’d like!

My final favorite Halloween inspo came from Tommy Hilfiger. His spring/summer collection was inspired by Jamaica and got me in the mood for the beach. Try dressing up in floral attire (Hawaiian print), beachy waved hair, and/or a swimsuit cover-up!   Chelsea Crockett- Tommy Hilfiger

Motivation can be tough to obtain. High school, boys, a job, etc. (basically teenage life in general) can run you out of steam! The lack of motivation can kick in pretty quick. You might be striving for the perfect summer body or to feel better about yourself in general. I wanted to share with you something I recently found on Chelsea Crockett - Motivation Wall Pinterest. It’s a great way to get some energy and confidence back so you’re able to go for the goal: a motivation board!

If you’re a little confused on what I’m talking about, a perfect example is the one on the left or the one below! You can make yours any way you like. If you want more structure, create a board like the one on the left. You can make a schedule of what workouts and exercises you need to do at the gym or at home. If you’reChelsea Crockett - Motivation Board determined to lose any pounds, add in a countdown! You can decorate it with motivational quotes or pictures to give you a little inspiration when you need it!

Another way to decorate it is like the board below. If you want to take the looser, simpler route, just decorate it with several sayings that provide some encouragement. Put it in front of your mirror or on your dresser to give you a boost in the mornings before a long day of school (which I think we could all use!).

Let me know how your own board turns out :)!

Love, Chelsea

Be The Best That You Can Be

Recently, I’ve been thinking about all of the things in life that can easily bring us down.  It’s easy to focus on the negative when you are feeling bummed but it’s also cool to flip a “mind” switch and think about all of the blessings that God has placed right before you.Chelsea Crockett- be a better you

I did a youth retreat once that focused on “your life will follow your expectations”!  If you focus on positive thoughts, your life will move in that direction!  It’s so important to have hopes, visions, and dreams.  If you constantly think negative thoughts, you will lead a negative life.  If you expect failure and defeat then your subconscious mind will make sure you lose and fail.  However, if you raise your level of expectancy….your vision will be enlarged!

I am here to encourage you to set your mind for success!  Each day, you must think thoughts of victory, favor, and hope.  Pray to God and then wait with expectancy!  God is ready to bless you beyond measure.  Be sure to believe God for an amazing future!  Good things are just around the corner!

“I will wait upon The Lord with expectancy for He shall speak peace to His people.”
Psalm 85:8

XOXO,
Chels

New Year’s Resolutions… Not So Much!

Most people every year think about setting New Year’s resolutions that they almost never keep!  You know what I’m talking about!  Maybe exercising more and eating healthier, reading the Bible every day to finish it by the end of the year, or possibly spending more time with family and friends that you don’t see that often, etc.  The lists go on and on!  (And I have to admit, it’s hard to stick to them!)  I recently read an article that inspired me to try something new. So… I thought I’d share to inspire you as well!Chelsea Crockett - Fruit of the Spirit

This year, instead of making my resolution list of things to “do,” I considered making it based on ways I should “be”!  I’m trying to be more forgiving, prayerful, kind, faithful, loving, joyful, and thankful.  I really want to be mindful of how I’m acting in every situation, good or bad.  I know I won’t always be successful because we all make mistakes but I want to “be” a better, more optimistic person.  You should join me and pass on this idea….maybe bit by bit we can change the world!

Love, Chels
