There is something about Christmas lights that make me feel all warm inside. They are a staple when it comes to decorating for Christmas! You can do so many things with them, from hanging them on your house to decorating your tree with them, whatever the case may be they bring a little Christmas cheer with them. Here are a few not-so common ways to DIY decorate with them this Christmas!

  1. Dixie cup lights: If you like fun and funky decorations, then you will like this easy DIY. The fun lights will add a fun flair to any space! Here is the link to learn how to do it yourself: http://www.heygorg.com/2011/08/diy-dixie-cup-garland.html.

If you love interior design and decorating then you are going to love this sweet diy! It is a hula hoop chandelier! All you need is a dollar store hula hoop, some spools of lace, and icicle lights! Here’s what you do:

Take out your hot glue gun, lace, and hula hoop. Wrap your lace around the hula hoop to hide the color of the hoop. Wrap the icicle lights around the hula hoop. You can secure the lights with hot glue if you want them to be more secure! This diy can give any room a romantic flare! The soft icicle lights hanging from the ceiling are so soothing! Hang this diy in your room, in your dorm room, anywhere you want!

I LOVE decorating for Christmas! It is just one of the many reasons I love the holiday season. I came across an awesome DIY that I think you all are going to love! It adds sparkle to any mantle!

What you will need:

-100 mini lights

-1 canvas

1. Lay your canvas down on the floor or a flat surface and draw whatever pattern you want on the back of the canvas with a pencil. I chose to draw a snowflake-ish pattern on mine. Make sure you keep the pattern a little further apart to leave room for the lights. You can use an ice pick to poke the holes in the canvas where you made the pencil marks. Be careful though, ice picks are sharp suckers!

2. Poke the tip of the lights through the holes you have made in the canvas. You can secure the lights in the holes with hot glue if you want. The picture below shows what a hot mess the back of the canvas will look like, but it also shows how awesome it looks from the front! Prop this sucker up on your mantle, add some garland and a few sparkely accent pieces, and you will have the best looking mantle on the block!
