Lipstick is one of my favorite things to play around with.  Whether I’m rocking a bold lip or a subtle nude, I never leave the house without it in my purse!  I’ve discovered some ways to take my lipstick game to a whole new level, so I thought I’d share them with you all as well!

  • Lip Liner. Chelsea Crockett - Ombre Lips If you’ve never tried lip liner, then you don’t know how big of a difference it can actually make!  I love the crisp look it gives to my lips.  Not only does it seal the deal, but it makes your lips pop even more than they do with just lip stick!
  • Ombré Lips.  You might’ve never even heard about this trend, but I assure you it’s super fun and unique!  The picture on the right shows a perfect example of bold, yet subtle ombré lips.  There are tons of tutorials online to show you how to pull off this new trend!  (It’s not as hard as you think!)
  • Dark Shades.  Darker shades don’t get enough credit!  A whole look can change by simply adding a maroon lip.  If you don’t think dark shades are your thing, give them a try anyways.  You might surprise yourself!

Try these out so you can step up your lipstick game this fall as well!

Prom can be a difficult night to plan and prepare for. There are so many things you should have set even weeks or months in advance! Along with your plans, it’s a necessity to have your dress, jewelry, shoes, and everything else ready to go. Let me tell you, it can be stressful! I found and came up with some tips and hacks that will make prom flow much easier!

  • Oftentimes when I wear a pair of heels, my feet slide all over the place. Chelsea Crockett - Lipstick TipSpray your feet with hairspray, especially the heel, before putting on your shoes. This will prevent them from slipping all night long!
  • One of the most annoying things about makeup is how quickly it can fade or rub off. If you want your lipstick to last longer, add a thin layer of lipstick, then a layer of powder, followed by another thin layer of lipstick or gloss.
  • Carry a mini beauty kit in your clutch. Always have lip gloss, bobby pins, gum/mints, powder foundation, etc. Throw in whatever can fit and whatever you think could come in handy.
  • If an unexpected pimple pops up, there’s not much you can do to automatically get rid of it, but you’re not out of luck! Take an ice cube and apply it to the area for 30-45 seconds. It doesn’t get rid of it, but it reduces the redness around it and makes it less noticeable!

What prom hacks are you going to use this year? Let me know below so I can use them, too!

Love, Chelsea

Makeup in the 1900’s was so fun and lively; so when I watched the movie The Great Gatsby, I became inspired by each and every look! I looked more into how they did the makeup and wanted to share one of my favorite tips I learned! Keep on reading to find out how you can get The Great Gatsby inspired lip look! Chelsea Crockett- The Great Gatsby Lip

Start by choosing your lip color. The colors used for this look are dark and deep, so go with a maroon or wine shade. Begin by applying a primer so the dark colors don’t sink into your lip lines. Next, using a lip pencil of the same color as your lipstick, fill in your entire lip. This will keep the color looking rich all night long. Apply the lipstick, preferably a long-lasting brand, and spread it evenly on your upper and bottom lip. You can even use a lip brush to fill in the lines. Last, apply a gloss of the same shade on your bottom lip and rub them together. This will give your lips that “plump” illusion, while bringing out the rich colors.

There you have it! Now you can put on a little black dress and rock your Gatsby inspired lip all evening!

XOXO,

Chelsea

Going Natural

The word “natural” can be scary for us girls.  Between the frizzy, half straight-half curly hair, lovely face blemishes, and dark under eye circles, going natural is a breeze (Note: sarcasm was used in the making of this article)!  Luckily, with some minor, and not to mention quick, adjustments, you can look beautiful going natural!  Check out how to embrace your true beauty.

Every once in a while, it’s time to give your hair a rest.  Between the endless hours you’ve spent straightening it, it’s probably screaming for help!  After your next shower, let your hair air dry.  For a sleek look, try adding a dime size of Moroccan oil to your beautiful locks.  Start at the ends of your hair and work your way up, otherwise your hair could appear greasy.  The oil reduces frizz and keeps your ends in place.  If you have wavy or curly hair, try using a gel in order for it to maintain its curl.Chelsea Crockett- natural makeup

Next comes the tricky part, your face.  All you need is some concealer and sheer lip gloss.  Start by adding the concealer to your under eyes and any blemishes your zits that are highly visible.  If the zit isn’t causing too much harm, then let it breathe.  It will hear quicker this way.            Lastly, throw on some lip gloss and complete your natural look.  This is an easy way to fool people into thinking you have flawless, natural hair and skin!  Less is more, so go bold this summer with minimum makeup!

Chelsea
