For on-the-go moisture, lip balm is a necessity.  It can go in your pocket or purse for easy access.  Each tube is packed with shea butter, SPF, and other natural ingredients to keep your lips moisturized at any time of the day.  Three of my favorite lip balms are Eos, Burt’s Bees, and Baby Lips.  They are perfect for soft, beautiful lips.Chelsea Crockett- Baby Lips

Eos come in a cute ball form and come in lots of sweet flavors.  It is made with shea butter to keep your lips moisturized for a long period of time.  Some of them even have SPF…perfect for a day by the pool!  It has the perfect balance of moisture and flavor.  Burt’s Bees is made with all natural bees’ wax, which conditions skin, and peppermint oil for that burst of freshness.  You may feel your lips tingling after using Burt’s Bees, but it’s normal, IChelsea Crockett- lip balms promise!  If you want a lip balm with a kick, try Baby Lips by Maybelline.  Each Baby Lips comes in a different fun shade and is made to condition.  It also beats the sun with SPF.  The different tints give the illusion that you are wearing lip gloss.  Pretty cool, right?  All of these products will keep your lips looking smooth and beautiful to go with your soft, tan, summer skin.

Love,

Did you know you could “winterize” your skin? Neither did I! Winterizing your skin is getting it ready for the cold, dry winter months. Let me explain!

1. Lavish your Lips! During the winter months, your lips can get dry and cracked. I’ve got a few ways to keep those kissers nice and moist! The first tip is to keep a good quality chapstick on hand. I recommend Burt’s Bees, because it is natural and high quality! My next tip is to take a soft bristled toothbrush and gently brush your lips with it. Instant exfoliation! After you have brushed your lips, smooth some chapstick over those babies.how-to-treatcure-pleeing-lips

 2. Skip the Steamy Shower! Okay don’t freak out, but hot showers can really strip your skin of moisture! Now I’m not saying take showers that are the temperature of Alaskan ocean water, but maybe turn the heat down just a tad. When you take super-hot showers, it causes your blood vessels to dilate which results in water loss through your skin! So turn those temps down, ladies!

 3. Sensitive skin? Avoid Tap Water! Do you have really dry, sensitive skin? Then listen up! Tap water can contain harsh minerals that are especially drying to the skin. Every state’s water contains different minerals, some harsher than others. To be safe, you can use clensing pads to clean your face, and if you feel your face really needs some TLC, wash it using bottled water.

I am SO ready for fall and winter, and your skin will be too! Do you have any advice on how to winterize your skin? Comment below and fill me in!

Summer Lips

Hey insiders!  Whether you’re trying a natural look or a colorful one, you’ll need a pop of color to fully complete it.  As for me, I am never specifically set on a certain shade.  If I’m going for a more subtle look, I’ll finish it off with a clear or light pink gloss.  If I’m feeling a little more adventurous, I use a red or hot pink color which is fun and will be sure to turn heads.

With summer here, one of my favorite glosses is the “Kiss of Cherry” fruity lip care by Nivea which I talked briefly about in my May Favorites 2013 video.  It has an SPF of 15 which comes in handy during a day outside or at the pool.  It also moisturizes your lips and gives them a smooth feel which is definitely a plus!Chelsea Crockett - Red Lips

Another shade that I can throw on with almost anything is a raspberry shade.  It’s a fun color that highlights those rosy cheeks.  It blends with any look and gives off a bright summer shimmer to your sun kissed skin!

Hope this helps you next time you’re looking for a pop of color to your daily makeup!
