I don’t do much international traveling, but when I do I have a love hate relationship with it. I love traveling and having new experiences and seeing new things, but I DON’T love the long process of getting from point A to point B. In order to make the most of my international travels, I follow these handy travel tips to help me arrive feeling my best.

  1. Fuel yourself up: In-flight food isn’t always the best, and it is crazy expensive, so get a nice healthy meal before you board your plane. It is so worth it! Also, pack healthy snacks like nuts or dried fruit or granola bars so that you don’t load up on junk during the flight. You will feel so much more energized after healthy snacking!images (1)
  2. Prepare to freshen up: I always pack a small travel sized makeup bag in my carry on with me that I can pull out throughout my day of travel. It has a toothbrush and toothpaste, makeup wipes, deodorant, and other items that can help me feel fresh after a long day of travel. Feeling fresh while traveling makes it way more bearable!
  3. If possible, carry on all your luggage: I know, it is hard to pack all of your essentials into carry on luggage, but try your hardest! Nothing is worse than finding out your luggage has been lost when you arrive at your destination. It will also save you tons of time because you can avoid waiting for your luggage later on! You can walk off the plane and straight to your car.
  4. Drink Up: You will likely be given a small cup of water during your flight, but that isn’t going to cut it. Bring an empty water bottle with you and fill it up once you get passed security. Airplanes dry you out because of the circulated air, and traveling can be exhausting, so keeping yourself hydrated will keep you energized and awake.

Good luck, and have a blast wherever your international travels take you!

Airport Hacks: Chelsea Edition

I absolutely love to travel, and thank goodness for that because I travel often! Just recently I went to Coachella in California, and also went to Playlist Live in Orlando! Because I travel bunches, I spend lots of time in airports. Now, I wouldn’t say I am an expert at airports, but I know a thing or two that makes traveling in them a little less of a chore. Here are 4 of my top airport hacks to help save you time and money!

  1. Bring your own snacks: Try as hard as you can to avoid buying snacks and drinks at the airport. They are waaaay overpriced. Pack travel snacks like granola bars and trail mix to munch on. Also, pack an empty water bottle in your luggage to fill up once you pass security.
  2. Wear the extra luggage: If your carry-on is close to the weight limit, wear your heaviest pieces and layer them to get past security. After you have gone through, head to the bathroom and take off the layers and pack them up. You might want to keep a jacket or sweater out of your bag, airports and planes can get chilly!airporthacksbig2air
  3. Store your laptop in an easily accessed place: When you go through security they scan your laptop, which means you have to take it out of your luggage. Don’t be that person riffling through their suitcase, holding up the line at security because you packed your laptop in a hard to reach place!
  4. Make your luggage distinguishable: Standing around, waiting for your luggage after a long day of traveling is the worst part of the day. If you tie colored ribbons or fabric onto the handles of your luggage you will be able to quickly find it, grab it, and be on your merry way.
  5. Bring a portable battery charger: Airports do have charging stations, but they are usually majorly crowded. To make sure your phone never runs out of juice, carry a portable battery charger with you. That way you can charge it while you are waiting AND during your flight!

Happy travels!

If you follow me on any social media accounts, you’ve probably noticed that I travel a lot!  Although I hit up the airport quite frequently, it’s easy to forget about all the rules and regulations, or leave an important item at home.  I recently came across some great airport hacks that I turned into a list to keep me on track during all my ventures.  Keep these amazing hacks in mind during your next airport adventure! Chelsea Crockett- airport bag for liquids

  • Many airports have started requiring small zip lock bags to hold all of your carry-on liquids. Keep multiple baggies in your purse and carry-on for the future!  I’ve forgotten this step many times!
  • I always get thirsty on a plane, but don’t feel like buying a $7.00 water bottle! Throw an empty water bottle into your carry on and fill it up when you see a water fountain.  If you’re a frequent traveler like me, you’ll save lots of money!
  • Bring your own snack! If they aren’t already opened, they’re good to go!
  • In the winter I always worry about my luggage being overweight, since winter clothes are so much heavier! Wear your heaviest items, like a big coat, tall boats, and jeans on the plane!  This way, you’ll save some extra weight for a little shopping! 😉 haha.
  • Collect unused toiletries from the hotel. They’re great for carry-ons!
  • Did you know that your birthday, an anniversary, or even traveling alone can give you free perks?! Just let someone working for the airlines know and you may get upgraded, get a free snack, or get a little gift.  It’s worth a try!
  • If you’re flying into a country without data, download the Google maps offline app so you’re never stranded!
  • Airports are one of the easiest places to catch germs. Keep hand sanitizer or wet wipes on hand!

Happy travels!

Travel in Style: Winter 2013!

Hi Lovelies,             The holiday season is one of the most popular times to travel.  Lines are longer, layovers are more often, and everyone’s engaging in the hustle and bustle. …

Hi Lovelies,

The holiday season is one of the most popular times to travel.  Lines are longer, layovers are more often, and everyone’s engaging in the hustle and bustle.  It can be a crazy time!  So how can you travel during the holidays while still looking stylish?  Here are a few great ways to look chic, while making your way through the airport.

Leggings are a girl’s best friend!  They are the simplest clothing item to dress up or down and be worn almost anywhere.  For a long plane ride especially, break out your favorite pair of leggings, an over-sized sweater, and boots.  Add accessories like an over-sized scarf or beanie for extra warmth and comfort.  Even try a pair of long socks that stick out the top of your boots.Chelsea Crockett- airport style

If you’re going on a short plane ride, go for a more stylish outfit.  Try rocking your favorite pair of skinny’s, riding boots, and a pea coat.  For a little more privacy, try a hat and pair of sunglasses.  You’ll feel like a total celebrity!  For more added style, try customizing your luggage.  Monogrammed luggage tags are an easy way to find your luggage at the baggage claim and are super cute!  If you’re going out of the country, try a passport cover!  They come in all colors and patterns and add an extra touch to your ticket out of the country.  Even try tying a bright bow to your luggage to find your bag quick and easy.

Traveling to a new destination is so exciting; being stylish while doing it is even better!  Follow my airport outfit guide for chic airplane travel.  Oh, and don’t forget to bring your favorite magazines for enjoyment! Happy Holidays and travel safe!

Love,

            Chelsea
