When you take into account how often you use makeup removing wipes, which is probably once or twice a day, and then take in to account how much they cost, you find that makeup removing wipes are uncomfortably expensive. They are so handy at night when I am taking off my makeup because they make sure I get all of the impurities off of my face before I go to bed. I found a way to make my own makeup remover pads for just pennies and I am excited to try them out! Here is how to make them:

Ingredients:DIY_makeup_remover_pads_coconut_oil_deep_facial_cleansing_routine_Biore_2

  • 1 cup of water
  • 1 ½ tbsp. baby shampoo
  • 1/8 tsp oil of your choice (coconut oil, olive oil, baby oil, etc.)
  • Round cotton pads
  • Small jar with a lid

Mix the shampoo, water, and oil together in a cup. Pour a little bit of this mixture into the jar you will be storing the makeup pads in. Place the round cotton pads on top of the solution you just poured into the jar and press down on them to make sure they are getting wet. Repeat this step until the jar is full of damp makeup pads. If you have any of the liquid left over save it for when you need to make more makeup remover pads! Like I said before, these pads are super cheap and easy to make and will last you muuuuuch longer than the pricey ones you buy at the store.

Everybody has a habit or two they need to break. One of mine is waiting until I have one clean pair of socks left to do laundry. While that one is totally harmless, other habits can be more crucial to break. Some of these habits happen at night! Bad night beauty habits can be tough to break, but doing so can help you lead to a more beautiful life!

  1. Not taking off all of your makeup: Pleeeease don’t break this rule! All sorts of germs and gunk builds up on your face during the day, including your makeup, which makes it a breeding ground for bacteria. It only takes a few minutes to give your face a good cleaning with a makeup wipe and some cleanser, and it will prevent future breakouts!
  2. Sleeping in a ponytail: Sleeping with your hair in a ponytail can cause major breakage and can cause hair loss overtime! Let your hair free while you sleep.

  3. Not switching your pillowcase often: Between your face and your hair, your pillowcase encounters a lot of oils and bacteria during the night. That gathers up on your pillowcase! Switch out your pillowcase once a week to keep the bacteria at bay.
  4. Checking your phone: We all do it, but that doesn’t mean it is good! In order to get the best sleep possible, put your phone away two hours before you hit the hay. The bright screen causes your brain to not be able to shut off. Want to avoid eye bags? Put the phone away.

Hopefully these nighttime beauty habits help you get your beauty sleep!

Coconut oil is the Jack of all trades. It can literally do EVERYTHING! You can cook with it, use it for household cleaning, bake with it, and even use it in your beauty routine! After reading this article you are going to want to run to the store and grab you a jar, I guarantee it!

  1. Moisturizer: I keep a jar of coconut oil by my sink and use it as lotion for my face and body when I get out of the shower!
  2. Makeup remover: Like I said above, I keep a jar of the oil by my sink. At the end of the day, I just scrape a little out of the jar and rub it on my eyelids and under my eyes, and use a tissue to wipe my makeup off. It works sooooo well, and it doesn’t irritate my eyes like other makeup removers!96070-OrganicCoconutOil
  3. Shaving cream: Slather some coconut oil on your legs as shaving cream! It will melt right on your skin, and it will leave your legs feeling ultra smooth afterwards.
  4. Toothpaste: Yup, this is even good to use to clean your teeth! There are tons of DIY coconut oil toothpastes out there, and it is much better for your body than store bought toothpaste!

All-natural is the way to go! Plus, when you use coconut oil in your beauty routine, you end up smelling slightly like coconut, which reminds me of the beach, so that is always a plus!

I have to admit, the majority of makeup removers burn my skin. They sting when I go to wipe my makeup off at night and are packed with harmful chemicals. Plus, they can get pretty pricey! Here are 3 diy makeup removers that are easy on your skin and on your wallet.

Number 1:

  • Ingredients: Olive oil, baby shampoo and wash (tear free), waterimages (4)
  • Combine ½ tbsp of baby shampoo and ¼ tsp olive oil in a mason jar, then add ½ cup of water. Shake it up before use, then use a cotton swab to apply it.

Number 2:

  • Ingredients: 1 tbsp olive oil, 1 tbsp canola oil, 1 capsule vitamin E.
  • Combine ingredients, break the capsule and add in the vitamin E (it has great healing properties), and shake it all together! Again, apply with a cotton swab.

Number 3:

  • Ingredients: 2 tbsp witch hazel, 2 tbsp oil, 2 tbsp water
  • Combine ingredients and shake well before using. Like the ones above, use a cotton swab to apply.

Removing all of my makeup at night can be such a chore. All of that scrubbing and rubbing can really irritate your skin! Did you know that there is a way to take alllll of that makeup off in just 10 seconds without having to scrub your skin like Cinderella scrubbed kitchen floors? It is true! Here is how:

All you need is some olive oil of your choice! Once you have located your family’s stash of olive oil, set it to the side. Grab a wash cloth and soak it in hot water. Now, pull back your hair so you don’t get oil in it, because that is no bueno. Pour about a quarter sized portion of oil into your hand and then rub it alllll over your face. Yes, all over. You should start to notice that the makeup is practically melting off! You should start to look like a wet clown because of your makeup smearing everywhere. Now take your hot washcloth and gently wipe all of that oil and makeup off. Once you have removed all of the oil and makeup, your face should feel as smooth as a baby’s bottom! It is also going to be super clean because olive oil is a great cleanser. So, in reality, you just got a facial AND a face wash! Lucky you!
