Never underestimate the power of blush. It can give you a sweet bashful look, or a “touched by

the sun” look, or just a cheery look! Blush gives me a little bounce in my step. A little blush goes

a long way, so it is important to find the right shade for your skin tone! You don’t want to use the

wrong shade or too much product so that you dangle closely in the “clown” zone! Here is a guide

to help you find the right look for you!

1. Fair skin: Fair skinned lassies should not get carried away with their blush! A soft pink, blush

light coral, or soft pink will be the perfect enhancer for your porcelain skin. The key is

light application.

2. Medium Skin Tone: You ladies are similar to your fair skinned friends! Pinks and

peaches are your bff’s. They will give you the dramatic edge you want! Just a quick tip,

stay away from shades that have a blue-ish undertone. It can make your cheeks look

almost slightly bruised!

3. Dark Skin Tone: For you beauties deep shades of red, orange, and brown are best. These

colors will leave you looking radiant!

Blush can give you a bounce in your step and a brighter smile. Why? Because it makes you

look like a million bucks!

White Eyeliner: Why You Need It!

Have you ever used white eyeliner? It can give you an instant eyelift! Most people think that white eyeliner is only used on the runway, but that isn’t the case anymore! Here are 3 every day uses for white liner:

1. To give yourself a brow lift: Glide the liner under your brow. Use a smudger or a clean bush to blend it downwards. This creates a visual eye-lift and defines your brow.

2. To open up your eyes: Glide the liner along the top lash line and smudge it out over the eyelid. This makes the eye look larger and the lashes lookwhite eyeliner longer and more dramatic! Work it!

3. If you’re feeling a bit drowsy: Glide the liner along the inner rim of your lower lash line to cancel out any redness. This reflects white into the eyes which creates a well-rested, fresh look.

Alphonse Wiebelt quoted “White eyeliner is an absolutely essential tool that every makeup artist has in their kit.” Do YOU have white liner in your collection? I suggest you add it to your Christmas list!

Freckles are just about the cutest natural beauty feature a girl can have! Freckles make you look youthful, in a good way! They make you look cute and innocent. A lot of times, though, our foundation and other makeup can work against our freckles by covering them up! If you want to flaunt your freckles but don’t want to throw out wearing makeup, get the best of both worlds! Here’s how:tumblr_mp0gjeg3Oy1qfi5nqo2_500

Draw attention to them: Want to show your freckles off and draw attention to them? Use a tinted moisturizer instead of foundation. Smooth it on to even out your skin tone while still allowing your freckles to shine through! Add a little blush to complete the look.

Don’t take attention AWAY from them: Caking on your makeup and wearing it heavy on your lids can really distract from your God given gifts. Let those freckles be free! Wear subtle makeup like mascara to enhance your natural beauty.

Brown smokey eye: Play up your freckles with a subtle smokey eye! Take brown liner and smudge it on your top and bottom lash line for a smoldering, freckle intensifying look!

If you have freckles, let em shine!

Do you wear lip color on a regular basis? If so, you probably have a go-to color or brand that you use every time. Lip color can be used to enhance any look and add a little extra oomf to your ensemble. There is a lip product that I have totally fallen in love with, and that is lip stain! It stays on for ages and doesn’t smudge one bit. Want to know the differences/pros and cons between lipstick and lip stain? Then stay tuned!outlast_lipstain_lipstick_1_01132009191545

Lip Stick Pros and Cons: The pros are that you can find lipstick in literally any color, any shade, any finish, from matte to glossy to sheer. With the help of a mirror, lipstick is relatively easy to apply. Lipstick is also a great moisturizer because of its waxy texture. The cons are that lip stick rubs off and smears easily. Lipstick also leaves its traces everywhere, from your water glass to your teeth and even to your clothes if you accidentally brush your lips on them.

Lip Stain Pros and Cons: The pros are that it stays on foreeeever and doesn’t rub off or smear. You don’t even need to touch it up! This means you don’t have to worry about embarrassing smears or smudges, and you don’t need to wonder if your color is fading all day! The cons are that it tends to dry your lips out, so you will need to apply a moisturizer. Also, lip stains are not available in as many colors as lip sticks are. You are limited to more neutral tones and more natural reds and pinks, but if that is what you prefer then you are in luck!

It all comes down to personal preference and trial and error. Try a few and see which you like better! Which do YOU prefer? Comment below and let me know!

Do you spend most of your summer days in the water? I know that if I lived near the beach or if I had a pool you would not be able to drag me out of the water! For those of you who spend enough time in the water to double as a mermaid, here are a few summer waterproof makeup essentials.rimmel-100-waterproof-mascara

  1. Waterproof mascara
  2. Lip stain
  3. Blush
  4. Eyeliner
  5. Concealer

Summer makeup should be simple and light, especially if you are outside or in the water a lot. One important thing to keep in mind when wearing water proof mascara is that you need to remove it every night before you go to bed, because it can infect your eyelashes! Now go out and have some fun in the sun, and splash your friends for me! 😉

Sometimes it can be hard to know when to replace your beauty products. You may be using the same mascara for a few months and think “Hmmmm, I wonder if it is time to put this tube to rest…”. Here is a quick and easy guide to your everyday beauty products, and when they need to be replaced and kicked to the curb.

  1. Makeup sponges: 1 monthimages (3)
  2. Mascara: 3 months

  7. Powder makeup: 12-18 months
  8. Eyeshadow: 1-2 years

CHelsea crockett primer

1. Go lighter: Avoid going too dark when it comes to your shade of foundation. Have a makeup professional match you with your perfect shade! (You can go to places like Beauty Brands, or even to the makeup counter at Walgreens, and they will totally help you out!)

2. Matte it up: For cheeks, avoid shimmery powder, and when it comes to eye shadow, keep the shimmer strictly on your lids.

3. Prime focus: Primer is vital for making your makeup last. Oil-free versions are the best and also sensitive-skin friendly.

4. Hold off on the..: SPF! Your primer and foundation should be SPF-free. Products that contain SPF cast a ghostlike glow with the camera flash.

5. Line it up: When you are lining your eyelids, start in the center and work your way to the outer edge. When you line the entire lid, you will cause the eyes to appear smaller. Use a slanted brush with a dark shadow to line the lower lash line.

Stay tuned for part 2! Get ready to say cheese!

How many of you lovely ladies wear glasses? A few of my friends absolutely HATE wearing their glasses, and I cannot understand why! They can be such a great accessory, and there are so many frames out there to choose from that you can find some that fit both your style and personality perfectly. There is also some miscommunication out there that says that it can be hard to get the perfect makeup look when you wear glasses. Not true! Here are a few makeup tips for all of my glasses-wearing beauties.

  1. Stick with neutral eye shadow. Hear me out, I love bright eye shadow as much as the next guy, but neutrals arechelsea crockett glasses definitely the way to go when you wear glasses! If you want to wear some color on your lids, choose colors that accent your eye color. For example, my blue eyed beauties rock warm copper shades, green eyed gals rock plum shades, and brown eyed ladies work deep amethyst shadows. Save the bright colors for your lips!
  2. Match your liner to your frames. What I mean is, if you wear thick framed glasses, then wear heavier liner. If you wear thin frames, wear lighter liner. You don’t want your beautiful eyes getting swallowed up by your specs!
  3. Don’t skimp on mascara. A lot of people will tell you not to wear mascara with glasses because it sticks to the lenses…No ma’am, that can be easily avoided! Just let your mascara dry completely before slipping on your frames. Or, you can curl your lashes with an eyelash curler. Easy peasy!

To the person who said “guys don’t make passes at girls with glasses”, you haven’t seen my lovely Insiders! Work those specs, ladies!
