Spa days are the best days, especially when you and your friends can get together and relax for a few hours!  There are so many different DIY recipes that help you create your own spa day, filled with face masks, scrubs, and much more.  Here are a few fall-inspired recipes that you can make to create your own fall spa day!

If you love face masks, here’s a recipeChelsea Crockett - Face Mask Ingredients that’s all natural and perfect for an at-home facial.  For this mask, you’ll need raw honey, canned pumpkin, almond milk, and coconut oil.  Stir together a ½ cup of canned pumpkin, 2 tablespoons of raw honey, 1 teaspoon of coconut oil, and 2 tablespoons of almond milk. Apply a layer to your face and let it sit for 10-15 minutes.  It’ll leave your skin filled with moisture and nutrients!

As far as a fall-inspired facial scrub, there are so many to choose from!  But since it’s the time of year of pumpkin spice lattes, I wanted to tell you about a pumpkin latte sugar scrub that sounds amazing!  Here’s what you’ll need: 1 ½ cups of brown sugar, ½ cup of sugar, 1 teaspoon of cinnamon, 1 tablespoon of ground coffee, and a ½ cup of coconut oil.  Combine all of the ingredients together besides the coconut oil.  Then, add in the oil once all the other ingredients are stirred together!  You can use this scrub to exfoliate and cleanse your pores! 🙂

Are you going to try out some of these recipes?  Let me know below which one you like best! 🙂

Face masks can do wonders for your skin.  There’s one for every skin type and for almost every skin issue.  Since face masks have gotten a lot of hype lately, brands have been coming out with unique masks that will blow your socks off!  Here are three that I find the most intriguing!

  • Too Faced’s Upcoming Glitter Galaxy Face Mask. Chelsea Crockett - Lush Face Mask This is, by far, one of the coolest masks I’ve ever heard of!  Although it isn’t officially out yet, the picture and video teasers have Too Faced fans excited for what’s to come.  I don’t have much information about the product yet  but you can see how cool it is in the picture above!  It peels right off and will leave your skin feeling smooth and fabulous.
  • Lush Cosmetics’ Cup O’ Coffee Face Mask.  If you’re a coffee lover, than you’ll love this face mask!  It deeply cleanses any impurities from your pores while working to eliminate dryness and oil.  It’s perfect to use in the morning because the coffee aroma helps give you that boost to wake you up!
  • Michael Todd’s Wild Berry Skin Peel.  Face mask peels can sometimes make a much bigger difference than regular face masks, depending on the brand or product.  There are several ingredients that make this product an intense exfoliator that helps with uneven tone and rough texture!

Which face mask are you going to try?  They’re all great quality and worth a shot based on what you’re trying to get out of your mask!

Face masks can hydrate your skin, dry out your skin, clear up your skin, etc.  But are they really all they’re cracked up to be?  Some people swear by face masks and use them almost daily.  Others say that most are overrated and can be a total waste of money.  Here are some true and false myths that will help you decide for yourself!

Myth #1: Face masks are harmful to your skin.Chelsea Crockett - Face Mask  TRUE and FALSE!  Too much of anything can be bad for your skin.  This rule applies to face masks.  Although they can be super beneficial, don’t use one multiple times a day!

Myth #2: Face masks have little to no actual skincare benefits.  FALSE!  Most masks actually do benefit your skin.  They can help hydrate it, eliminate oils and dirt, or simply boost its radiance.

Myth #3: You can make your own DIY masks that are just as beneficial.  TRUE!  There are tons of different mask recipes on Pinterest that you can make right at home that are great for your skin!

Myth #4: Using a face mask every day is a good thing.  TRUE and FALSE!  Depending on the type of mask it is, it can either dry out your skin or moisturize it.  For example, if you’re using a clay mask every day, it could really start to dry out and damage your skin!

Are you an avid user of face masks?  If so, share with me below which ones you believe really do make a difference!

One of my favorite things about fall is the abundance of apple flavored treats, scented candles, etc.  Even better than buying it in the store, you can create your own DIY apple face mask!  Not only do you get an amazing fall face mask out of it but a fun DIY craft, as well!  Here’s how to make your own. 🙂

Because of apple’s hard texture, you’ll need a blender to make this mask into a paste that you can apply to your skin.  Chelsea Crockett - Apple Face Mask MixChop up half an apple into small pieces and blend them together in the blender.  Heat up a small amount of milk and add a tablespoon of warm milk to the blender.  You’ll then take an egg and add the yolk to the mixture, as well!  Before blending in the yolk, I suggest stirring it to evenly distribute it.  You can even add in a tablespoon of oatmeal to thicken up the mixture and make it more spreadable!  Spread the mask on your face and let it sit for 10-15 minutes.  Rinse with warm water and enjoy your new soft skin!

I hope you like this apple scented face mask as much as I do!  Not only does it smell good, but it leaves your face feeling clean and hydrated!

Love, Chelsea

Everyone knows that a facial mask every once in while is great for your skin! It’s an easy way to deep clean, minimize pores, and get rid of dry skin! Our feet, like our face, need the same kind of treatment! Unlike our facial skin, our feet get the rough end of the deal. Between walking barefoot, exercising, and wearing heels, it’s no wonder our feet can start looking a little under the weather. It’s time for a quick pick-me-up with foot masks!Chelsea Crockett- foot mask

You’re probably wondering what a foot mask is. Here’s how it works: first you slip on a pair of plastic socks (pretty funny looking). Next, you pour a liquid solution into each “sock” making sure all dry patches are fully submerged! Then, tie off each “sock” and let your feet soak for a little. As time goes on the solution will begin to get under the dry skin. Once you’ve let your feet soak for a decent about of time (10-15min), rinse your feet off under warm water and watch the magic happen! Your skin will begin shedding right in front of your eyes. Yes, it sounds gross, but the results are baby-soft skin!

There are multiple brands that make these masks, so look up one that sounds appealing to you and try it out! Comment below how you keep your feet soft and smooth, especially in the summer!

Ahhhh, coconuts… Not only do they taste great but smell even better! Recently, I’ve been hearing a lot about coconut oil and the benefits of it so I decided to put it to the test!  Coconut oil is filled with plenty of multi vitamins and nutrients. There are tons of different uses for it but I picked a couple particular ways to give it a go!

Chelsea Crockett - Coconut Oil ScrubThe first use is a healthy hair mask.  This is a life saver! First, you start with dry hair.  Take about 1/2 tablespoon of coconut oil and rub it between your hands.  Start with the ends of your hair and begin massaging in the oil.  Cover your strands with the oil from top to bottom.  Use a large tooth comb and comb the oil through your locks.  Next, wrap your head in a warm towel and seal it with a shower cap.  Leave this treatment on for about 30-45 minutes.  (I have a friend that even sleeps with it on her head overnight!). Shampoo twice to make sure all of the oil is removed.  Voila!  Your hair will feel soft, shiny, and renewed.

The other use is a coconut oil lemon scrub.  You mix 1 cup of sugar, 1/2 cup of coconut oil, and 1 teaspoon of lemon zest.  This will make enough of the scrub to last for quite some time.  Be sure to place it in a glass airtight container.  Use the scrub at night before bed and then apply your evening moisturizer.  It really helps to exfoliate and give your skin a glow.  The oil helps to add nutrients to your delicate facial skin without harshly drying it out.  The wonders of coconut oil seem to be endless.  Let me know below how you use it!

After a long summer of being in the sun, our skin could use some pampering.  A great way to relax and nurture your skin is with a DIY pumpkin facial mask!  Half a cup of canned pumpkin has 953 mg of vitamin A in it. With its wrinkle-fighting properties and tons of vitamins, this orange fruit soothes and hydrates tired skin.

Chelsea Crockett - Pumpkin Face MaskSome of us are getting older and probably won’t be trick or treating for Halloween.  Wouldn’t it be fun to have some friends over for a mini spa party?  Especially because Halloween is on a Friday this year!  Have your friends bring some snacks, you provide the drinks and the ingredients for the DIY pumpkin mask. Everyone at the party could mix their own pumpkin mask and then apply to their face!  Be sure to snap some pictures because I’m sure you’ll look awesome with pumpkin smeared all over your faces :).

Here is a recipe you could try.  Feel free to look up others online and have fun!  The ingredients you will need are: 2 cups of canned pumpkin, 4 tablespoons of unflavored yogurt, 4 tablespoons of honey, and 1 teaspoon of pumpkin pie spice.  Combine ingredients, smooth onto face, and relax for 10 minutes.  Then, rinse off mask with warm water.

If you have another recipe, feel free to share it with me below!

Apple Beauty Remedies!

It’s apple picking time here in the Midwest.  I love to go out with my family to the local orchards, get on a wagon, and pick some apples!  Believe it or not, apples aren’t just for eating.  There are actually quite a few beauty remedies that apples can be used for. Since they’re in season, I’d thought it would be fun to share a few ideas with you. Chelsea Crockett - Apples

Apples are a natural beauty product.  They can work wonders on your complexion by treating acne.  One easy mask to make is an apple and honey mask.  You can make this by grating half an apple and mixing it with four teaspoons of honey.  Then, apply it to affected acne skin, leave it on for 10 to 15 minutes, and rinse off with warm water.  This should leave a natural glow and radiance to your skin!  It can also be used to prevent pimples and other imperfections!

Apples can also be used as a natural facial cleanser.  The natural acid helps to remove excess oil from the skin and leave an instant shine and glow to the face.  An apple, milk, and honey cleanser can be made by measuring one tablespoon of fresh apple juice, two tablespoons of milk, and one teaspoon of honey.  Mix these ingredients together thoroughly and apply to your face and neck.  Massage for two minutes and then rinse off with warm water.

Your skin will be soft and glowing! If you have any apple beauty remedies, please be sure to share below :)!

Enjoy, Chels

I am always looking for new natural beauty remedies. A lot of times, choosing to make your own beauty concoctions is a cheaper alternative to buying them, and they are a lot better for you! Here is how to make your very own refreshing exfoliating mask!

Ingredients:NH-SO10-orange-slice

–          Oranges

–          Baking Soda

That is all you need! I love beauty remedies that have very few ingredients because they are simple, which means they are easy to make and easy to find the ingredients to! So, take a tablespoon of juice from your oranges and one tablespoon of baking soda and mix the two ingredients together in a small bowl to create a paste. Spread a thin layer of the paste on your face. Leave the mixture on for about 20 minutes, and don’t worry if it starts to tingle! That means it is doing its job.  Dampen your fingertips and scrub the mask in a circular motion to exfoliate your problem areas. Rinse the mask off of your face and admire your skin! Not only will you smell like a citrus goddess, you will have super clean glowing skin.

Like I said, I love keeping things all natural and homemade. Try this mask and see what you think! You may even have these ingredients laying around your kitchen. Bonus!

Summer is almost here, which means less face makeup! I like to wear less foundation and cover up in the warmer months because I will just sweat it off anyway, and I am in the water a lot! This means that my bare skin is exposed, which means any acne or irritations I may have are exposed too! By regularly applying face masks, you can prepare your skin for the warm months and get it ready to be shown off!

Avocado Egg White Face Mask Recipe: this mask combines the oil fighting powers of avocado and the pore tightening moisturizing properties. The reason that oily skin gets so oily is because the skin is dehydrated beneath the surface, so it tries to compensate by becoming oily. Combine half of an avocado and the whites of one egg to create this mask.properties of egg whites. It does wonders for oily skin! Avocado is well-known for being beneficial to dry skin due to its

rose-water

Heavenly Honey Citrus Mask: Want beautiful, healthy, glowing skin? Combine 3 tablespoons of orange juice with half a cup of honey. Apply this mixture to your face and leave it on for a half an hour. After the time has passed, rinse it off with lukewarm water, then cool water, then moisturize! Sounds good enough to eat!

I can’t wait to try these! Can you?

Homemade Face Mask for Oily Skin

Chelsea Crockett- eggs  Do you ever look at a picture you took and notice how oily your face looks?  Do you have to reapply powered foundation every couple hours to keep the oil off your face?  Well, if you said yes, I have the perfect face mask for you!  It’s an egg mask, sounds gross, but hey, it gets the job done!  The ingredients to make this mask are very simple, just one organic egg and two small bowls.  Start off by washing the shell of your egg and separating the yolk and egg white into the different bowls.  The easiest way to do this is to slide the egg yolk back and forth, draining out the egg whites.  Now, with a clean fork, beat the egg whites.  Once you start to see bubbles, then you know it’s ready.  Clean your face of all makeup, and using a tablespoon of the egg whites, apply it all over your face using your fingers.  Let it dry, you won’t be able to smile, and rinse off.  Now, it’s time for the egg yolk.  It is actually a natural face moisturizer.  Break open the yolk and apply a small, yet generous, amount to your face.  Again, let it dry and rinse it off.  Finish with your favorite face moisturizer and voilà; you’ve got soft, silky, and non-oily skin.  It’s as easy as that!

Enjoy,

Hi Lovelies!

I’m sure you’ve all heard me talk about or use Michael Todd skincare products in my YouTube videos.  Michael Todd skincare and beauty products are top of the line made with all organics.  You won’t have to worry about breaking out or being allergic to anything you use.  I have sensitive skin myself, and these products are perfect!

Chelsea Crockett- Michael Todd Pearl and Silk Mask I recently got the Organic Pearl and Silk Mask.  It’s an extremely gentle mask that leaves your skin feeling clean and soft.  With the help of the pearl, the mask hydrates dry skin and the silk leaves dull skin looking brighter!  After applying the mask, my skin felt cool and tingly.  I could feel the mask cleaning out my pores.  After the mask had been on for 10-15 minutes, I washed the mask off with a wash cloth and my normal cleanser.  My skin was glowing and felt so soft.  It felt cleaner than ever!

Michael Todd also carries other masks including the intense Charcoal Mask for deep cleansing, the Pumpkin Mask to replenish your skin with the nutrients it needs, and the Avocado Mango Mark for extreme hydration for dry skin.

Another great product by Michael Todd is the Charcoal Scrub.  It’s a deep cleansing scrub that goes beyond the pores.  After one use, my skin felt cleaner and smoother.  I have really oily skin and noticed that each day I used it, my skin felt less oily and fresher.  I didn’t feel the need to wash my face 100 times a day.  Michael Todd products have made my everyday face washing routine simpler.  My skin has never looked better and your skin will feel the same way!
