With social media booming, there are so many new online companies coming out to promote a new way of online shopping.  I’ve written articles about similar companies, including Faithbox and FabFitFun, that require a subscription to receive monthly boxes of products and/or apparel.  Ipsy is another company that has a similar idea but has new ideas to offer to the table! 🙂

The main concept of Ipsy is to inspire girls to experience beauty focusing 100% on themselves and what they want!  Ipsy thinks that beauty and makeup should be accessible and affordable for everyone, and their vision was first created from YouTube. Chelsea Crockett - Ipsy Makeup Bag Beauty gurus were making beauty their own and reinventing it to find their own unique makeup style.  Ipsy’s sole focus is on personalization and finding your beauty personality!

Ipsy is a monthly box of 5 different makeup products that is delivered right to your door!  For only $10 a month, you can try out different products to find out what you prefer and what works best for you.  All you have to do is take an in-depth beauty test so Ipsy knows which products will go best with your skin tone, eye color, hair color, and preferences.  They also ask for your familiarity with makeup and which makeup brands you would love to try out!  They then create your boxes based on your preferences, how awesome is that?  Did I mention it’s free shipping, too?!

Are you going to subscribe?  I encourage you to try it out!  Hey, it’s worth a shot right?

Whether you shop at Sephora or not, you can’t deny a good steal when you find one!  Getting new makeup is always fun, but getting the same makeup at a cheaper price?  Even better!  I recently discovered several different money hacks you can use for yourself at Sephora.  Here they are so you can get the best bang for your buck just like I do!

  • Follow Sephora on Facebook.  Chelsea Crockett - Sephora MakeupExclusively through their Facebook, Sephora offers you discounts and giveaways that a ton of people aren’t even aware of!
  • Take a few samples of products you’ve been dying to try.  Sephora allows you to take up to three samples home with you so you can test a product before spending a bunch of money on the real deal!  You can also get some free makeup :).
  • Join their rewards program.  This one may be obvious, but if you’re a frequent Sephora shopper, you can get so many awesome discounts and savings.  Why not right?
  • Free shipping is a big deal if you order online frequently.  You can sign up for the Sephora Flash Subscription and get free, 2-day shipping for the whole year.  And it’s only $10!
  • If you buy something that goes on sale a week later, you can take it into the store to get the price adjusted within two weeks of the purchase.  You might as well save every penny you can!

I hope you take advantage of these hacks and get some makeup to add to your collection! 🙂

Social media is one of the biggest things of our generation.  About 99% of the people I know have at least one form of it, even my parents and grandparents!  If you’ve been keeping up with my channel, then you’ve seen one of my recent videos talking about the power of social media and why it’s so important.  I just wanted to expand on my thoughts on how our generation can use social media for the right reasons!

Chelsea Crockett - Social Media

For me, I live a lot of my life on YouTube, Twitter, Instagram, etc.  With the following I have, I feel like God has given me a platform to help further His kingdom by posting different verses, quotes, or my own thoughts that have impacted me.  That being said, I use social media as a way to spread the love of God to all of my followers because I believe in the power of social media!  My point is not that you need to tweet about God or the Bible.  My point is that social media can make a different and it DOES make a difference.  That’s why being positive and solely uplifting is more important than you think!  If you’re only logging on to complain or post negatively, then maybe you should rethink why you have social media in the first place.

Start using social media to spread love instead of hate!  If we as a generation made this our mission, we’d be unstoppable! 🙂

Love, Chelsea

Online shopping is both a blessing and a curse.  Having the ability to buy anything and everything at the click of a button can be scary (especially for my bank account!).  There are certain things you can do to online shop the smart way, by finding deals and discounts!  Here are a few tips that my wallet can thank me for.

  • Most of the time, you can sign up for an online account and receive discounts right off the bat!  It’s super simple and usually saves you over 20% off your purchase.Chelsea Crockett - Online Shopping Meme
  • If you have a smartphone, download the store’s app to your phone.  You can usually turn on notifications for sales and discounts!
  • Keep an eye out for marked off items on the website.  Just like a sale rack in the store, there will be sections online with discounted clothing.  Just because you’re not in the store doesn’t mean you can’t snag a good deal!
  • Read the reviews.  A lot of times, websites with really cheap clothing can either be an awesome steal or a waste of money.  Read what other people have to say about the brand or company to make sure it’s legit!
  • Don’t forget that coupons and gift cards work just the same as in stores!  You can usually find somewhere on the website before you check out that lets you redeem the code found on your card.

What online shopping tips do you follow?  I’m always in need of some shopping tips! 🙂

Social media can be addicting.  Always wanting to stay up to date with what everyone is doing can become routine!  I sometimes find myself having trouble putting my phone down during homework or studying, so… I came up with a few tips on how to block out social media when you need to get the job done!

  • First off, start simple.  If you know you can’t stay off your phone, then turn it off or put it in another room! Chelsea Crockett - Social Media Addict That way you won’t even see your phone light up or feel it vibrate.  It’s a simple solution and you wind up distraction free!
  • If you like to check your social media on a computer or laptop, then I highly recommend you check out this website if you get distracted easily when studying.  I know I’ve mentioned this in another article, but KeepMeOut.com blocks you from any website you tell it to!  You can also pick the amount of time it’ll lock you out for which is really cool!
  • Put your phone on “do not disturb” so your phone isn’t constantly vibrating or going off every time you get an Instagram like or Twitter notification!
  • If you really can’t keep your hands off your phone, set a timer that goes off every 30 minutes, hour, etc.  When the timer goes off, treat yourself by checking your phone but limit yourself to only so much time!

What study tips do you have for me?  Let me know below, I could use them!

As you all know, I’m big into the world of YouTube! Whether I’m watching beauty gurus or funny vloggers, I could be warped into them for hours upon hours. In the Crockett family, it’s not just me who’s ventured into the YouTube world. My parents have recently created a channel called Toy Star that has toy reviews for younger children or those who are kids at heart!Chelsea Crockett - Toy Star

Since toy reviews have gotten bigger and more popular online, my parents decided to make their own channel for reviews on certain Disney toys, PixarCars, Play-doh, etc. Most of the reviews are directed towards preschoolers and kindergarteners. Toy Star gives you reviews on toys you might be contemplating buying for maybe your little siblings, younger cousins, etc.! Or maybe you have a son or daughter that’s been wanting a certain toy and you want to know if it’s worth the buy! Check out their channel and you can decide for yourself! Click here to check it out and subscribe :).

P.S. Me being the beauty guru of the family, check out my mom’s nails in the videos as well :)! How cute are they?

Have you ever seen a dress in a fashion show and would die to wear it? A website called “Rent the Runway” can make your dream come true! Their concept is absolutely genius. By simply making an account on www.renttherunway.com, you can start your process of finding the perfect dress!

Chelsea Crockett - Rent the Runway DressesOkay, so here’s how it works. First off, you join the website (obviously) for free. Then, you can start your online shopping spree! Not only can you rent a dress for possibly homecoming or prom, but you can rent fashionable accessories, as well. For example, say you wanted to rent a dress by one of the most famous fashion designers, Vera Wang. If one of her dresses on the site is $1300 retail price, you can rent it for around $100 or less! Then, once your event is over, send the dress back. It’s that simple! Vera Wang is only one of the many designers to choose from. BCBGMaxazria, Kate Spade, and Lilly Pulitzer are also on the list with tons of others. When you hover over the “dresses” tab, you can choose from top rated, most popular, etc. The “occasions” tab, which I think is probably the coolest, helps you sort events into categories such as formal, night out, daytime etc. It makes finding your dress a lot easier.

So, maybe your homecoming hasn’t happened yet… Or maybe you have a formal wedding around the corner and are still in search for that stylish dress. Whatever the occasion, Rent the Runway guarantees you your ideal dress. And how fun is that to wear something that’s created by a world famous fashion designer? If you choose to go this route, let me know below which dress you picked!

Social media is both a blessing and a curse. Once something you put online is out there, you can’t take it back! With how often us teenagers log on to Twitter, Instagram, Facebook, etc., we need to learn the ropes for what NOT to do on social media. Here a little guide I like to live by:

  • Don’t start an argument! We’ve all seen those Twitter fights that we know the person will regret later. Don’t try to “subtweet” anyone just to push their buttons. Be the bigger person!
  • Don’t be inappropriate/offensive. Ever hear the saying “think before you speak?” Well… you should think before you tweet too! First of all, don’t say or do anything you wouldn’t say in person. You might think you can get away with posting something inappropriate, but chances are, your teacher/coach/parent will see it. It’s definitely not worth it!Chelsea Crockett - Facebook Don't Like
  • Don’t deal with relationships online. I’ve seen breakups happen and escalate for everyone to read on their feeds. Keep that private! Chances are you’re just making the relationship worse. The best way to solve your problems is face-to-face!
  • Don’t be afraid to be yourself! One of the coolest things about social media sites is the freedom to express yourself. If you’re into photography, Instagram’s for you! Maybe you write poetry and want to tweet it for others to relate? Don’t hold back if you want to show your creativity :)!
  • Don’t associate with people you don’t know. This has been told to us ever since we could first use a computer. Stranger danger is actually a thing! Be careful!

Although there are many things to think about when logging into your account, the main thing is to make sure you’re having fun. Don’t overthink it :)!

Good luck! – Chels

Oh the beauties of the Internet!  With a few clicks of your mouse, you can be exploring clothes and accessories from your favorite stores and imagining your perfect outfit!  Online shopping really is the easiest way to shop and it’s right at your fingertips…literally!

Some may argue that online shopping is a hassle.  Between shipping costs and not being able to try the clothes on, you may find yourself paying more for clothes that don’t fit!  While I can’t argue with that, I will admit that I’ve found many more sales on the Internet than in stores.  Many stores have online only items and sales and offer free returns and exchanges if the clothes don’t fit.  Most of the time you can even return your online order right in the store; no need to make a trip to the post office.  Also, if you spend a certain amount of money, then the shipping is free!  Not to mention, finding a box on your doorstep is like Christmas morning!Chelsea Crockett- online shopping boxes

Sometimes I find it hard and stressful shopping in unorganized stores, like Forever21 for example, and find it hassle free online!  Since I typically know what size I wear, I usually do not have a problem.  If you are looking for something specific, then it’s easy to type it in and look it up!  This way, you won’t be searching the mall for hours!

Next time you feel like taking a trip to the mall, curl up in bed and grab your laptop.  You may find your new hobby…online shopping!

            Hey insiders!

Most shopping websites allow you to simply purchase your desired products online, and that’s that.  But littleblackdress.com is a new kind of online shopping, more fun and more creative, letting you shop and swap!

Chelsea Crockett - Little Black Bag WebsiteFirst off, you have to make your own account.  The site includes several of the hottest brands including BCBC Generation, Steve Madden, Betsey Johnson, and Guess.   After joining, the website will have you take a personal style quiz!  This will help the site direct you to products that they think you’d be most interested in.  Then you’re set!  You pick one item to add to your “little black bag” and the site picks two other items to add, as well.

Second, you can pick over thousands of different people to swap items with.  If you find a bag or a pair of shoes you really like in someone else’s bag, you can offer one of your items to trade with theirs.

And finally, you can purchase your picked products with some up to 70% off of retail price!  Most items are at least 20-50% off, which to me is quite a steal.  If you’re in to online shopping, check out littleblackdress.com for a creative, new way to shop.  You won’t regret it!
