I am always looking for new natural beauty remedies. A lot of times, choosing to make your own beauty concoctions is a cheaper alternative to buying them, and they are a lot better for you! Here is how to make your very own refreshing exfoliating mask!

Ingredients:NH-SO10-orange-slice

–          Oranges

–          Baking Soda

That is all you need! I love beauty remedies that have very few ingredients because they are simple, which means they are easy to make and easy to find the ingredients to! So, take a tablespoon of juice from your oranges and one tablespoon of baking soda and mix the two ingredients together in a small bowl to create a paste. Spread a thin layer of the paste on your face. Leave the mixture on for about 20 minutes, and don’t worry if it starts to tingle! That means it is doing its job.  Dampen your fingertips and scrub the mask in a circular motion to exfoliate your problem areas. Rinse the mask off of your face and admire your skin! Not only will you smell like a citrus goddess, you will have super clean glowing skin.

Like I said, I love keeping things all natural and homemade. Try this mask and see what you think! You may even have these ingredients laying around your kitchen. Bonus!

How does strawberry-orange sorbet sound? Sounds like a summer treat, am I right? Well, I thought I would give you the recipe to this sweet treat in hopes that it would get you excited for warmer weather! Check it out!

Ingredients:

  • 4 cups strawberries, hulled and sliced images
  • 1 cup water

In a sauce pan, add the sugar, orange juice and water and bring it to a boil. Let the mixture boil until sugar dissolves (about 3 minutes).  Add the strawberries and the orange zest and let the mixture boil for 8 to 10 minutes. Using a blender, puree the mixture and then pass the it through a fine mesh strainer. Let it come to room temperature and place in the refrigerator to chill. Orange lipstick can be a tricky lip color to wear.  It requires the right outfit, the right bronzer and the right blush.  To truly pull off an orange lip, follow my simple guide to get the perfect look!Chelsea Crockett- orange lipstick

When it comes to pulling off an orange lip, it’s all about the tan.  If you’re someone who tans easily, wait until you’ve been out in the sun a few times before trying this color.  If you tend to stay pretty pale, then try a shimmery bronzer!  Start by applying the bronzer to your cheek bones and outer part of your forehead.  (Remember: never apply bronzer all over your face!  This will make your makeup looked caked on and make you look darker than you should.)  Finish off your face with a light pink blush!

Two of my favorite shades of clothing to wear with orange lipstick are hot pink and nude.  If you want to stick to the neon trend, throw on a hot pink dress or top.  The contrast of colors will help each one stick out!  If you want to go a more subtle route, try a flesh colored top or dress to let your lips be the primary focus.

I hope all of you can try out this new makeup trend this summer!!

Love,

Chelsea

Guide to Fall Colors

             Hey girls!

Just as trends come and go, so do colors, and knowing when to break them out is tough.  For example, wearing white shoes, pants, or handbags after Labor Day and before Memorial Day is a fashion “don’t.”  So, what colors pop during autumn?  Keep reading to find out!

You probably guessed it, but what color is better to sport during fall than orange?  Wearing an orange shirt and pairing it with neutral colored shoes and a cute handbag is a perfect casual outfit for a day at the mall.  Not a fan of orange?  Try out red or yellow.  These shades are similar to orange aChelsea Crockett - Fall Outfit - Fall Colorsnd still give off an autumn feel.

Another color that’s a fall favorite is chocolate brown.  The perfect brown accessory is a purse.  This matches almost any outfit you want to throw on.  It complements orange, red, and yellow perfectly, yet doesn’t take the focus away from your bright autumn shades.

As I’ve stated before, plaid is back!  Although it’s a pattern, not a color, plaid has made a comeback and looks great as an oversized button-up.  Rock this look with leggings and boots or flats.

If you’re one who follows the Labor Day rule, then you’ll need a white substitute.  Cream, ivory, nude, or even a light, rosy pink will do the job.  These colors can fill in for your white accessories you put away for fall.

Hi Insiders!

Halloween is just around the corner!  It’s such a festive time of the year when you can dress up for a night and not be yourself.  Costumes can be expensive, time consuming, and some people don’t like to dress up; so what if you want to engage in the Halloween festivities, but don’t want to wear a costume?  I’ve got a few ideas for you to still get in the Halloween spirit without fully dressing up! Chelsea Crockett- ghost sweatshirt

Try hitting up a store like Forever21 or even a thrift shop and searching for a graphic tee or sweatshirt with a cute pumpkin, ghost, or black cat.  Try wearing an over-sized sweatshirt with leggings and boots or a graphic tee with your favorite pair of jeans! Style it like you normally would and you’re good to go!  Another simple Halloween statement piece you could wear is a spooky pair of leggings.  Find a crazy pair with skeleton bones or tiger stripes on them.  Throw on a solid colored tee and you’ve got yourself a subtle, yet stylish costume!

Another festive way to get ready for Halloween is with Halloween colors!  If you don’t want to wear something affiliated with Halloween try wearing orange, black or purple.  This way, you’ll be sporting the holiday colors without having to dress up!  Halloween isn’t all about dressing up, but it is part of the fun.  Don’t forget these simple tips for being festive without actually wearing a costume!

Happy Halloween!
