Who says you cannot wear white after Labor Day? I petition that we throw that rule out the door! Why put those perfectly good white jeans

away for the fall/winter when you could rock them all year long? Here are my favorite ways to wear white jeans in the fall.

  1. With a neutral sweater: If you are looking for a casual outfit to wear to school, pair your white skinnies with a neutral colored oversized sweater. I actually love a ripped pair of white skinnies with this outfit. Pair with some ankle booties for a cozy, casual cold weather look.
  2. With a jean jacket: A dark jean jacket adds so much dimension to a simple outfit. Pair white jeans, a simple gray shirt, and a denim jacket for a simple, sweet fall look. Toss in some suede booties to complete the ensemble!
  3. With gingham: Gingam was huge this summer, and it will totally carry into the cooler weather seasons. It is so classy and cute and vintange and just all around adorable! Tuck a gingham button up into your white jeans, or just tuck in the front and let the rest of the shirt hang loose, and layer in a thin tan belt. I would wear some white Keds sneakers with this duo for a classic, timeless combo.

People will forget the phrase “don’t wear white past Labor Day” when they see how cute you look in your fall white jeans ensembles!

Denim is one of the most versatile textiles in your wardrobe. You can rock it in the fall, winter, spring, summer, it is a year-round fashion statement! Today we are going to focus on springtime denim. There are a few denim clad looks I am rocking this spring that I think you will dig! Here they are!

  1. Frayed ankle jeans: I picked up a pair of these babies at MOD the other day, and I am in love. I love the unique look of having frayed ankles instead of the usual hemmed ones. I like pairing these with ankle booties and a fun flowy top.
  2. Denim babydoll dresses: If you are in search of a way to wear denim that has a feminine flair, look no further! Denim babydoll dresses are the perfect solution. Find one with elbow or long sleeves to keep you warm during chilly spring days, and pair it with a felt floppy hat and suede booties for a super sweet ensemble!
  3. Classic jean jacket: I wear my jean jacket alllll the time. They are so versatile, you can dress them up, dress them down, and everything in between! If you want a nautical, East coast vibe, pair some white jeans with a striped shirt and denim jacket. Easy, effortless, and awfully stylish. Denim jackets even go with dresses!

Have fun dressing up your denim this spring!

If you take advantage of every extra minute of sleep you can get, then you are like me and are always looking for ways to get ready faster in the morning to allow time to sleep in longer. Here are a few of my signature get-ready-faster tactics.

  1. Keep a pouch of essentials: Keep a small zipper pouch full of your daily essentials like gum, lip color, keys, mascara, and aspirin, that way if you switch purses or backpacks all you have to worry about is grabbing the pouch and you will know you have everything you need for the day.
  2. Document your outfits: When you find an outfit you like, take a picture of it before you leave for the day. That way, if you are ever out of outfit inspiration and are running late and can’t pick out an outfit for the day, you can go to your “outfits” folder on your phone and quickly see an ensemble that worked for you and then you can easily recreate it.
  3. Quick dry your hair: If you have time to wash your hair in the morning, don’t blow dry it right after your shower. Wrap it in an absorbent towel, go eat breakfast and get ready, then blow dry it. Blow drying your hair in a steamy bathroom can cause it to frizz up and also takes longer to dry. Waiting lets your bathroom air out.
  4. Dry shampoo before bed: This helps the dry shampoo soak up oils while you sleep and gives you clean looking/smelling hair in the morning! This saves you time because you don’t have to go wash your hair.

Gingham is the classic picnic print. It is a great spring and summer pattern, not just for picnicking in the park! You can find many ways to wear this classic print for every occasion. Here are a few ways I have found!

  1. On a date: Pair a fun and flirty gingham top with some simple skinnies and a cute purse. The top will give a touch of your feminine side, whereas the jeans keep it low-key.
  2. To the beach: I am obsessed with gingham swimwear! It is so vintage and fun. I happen to own this suit! I love the high-waisted bottoms that help slim my hips. And the off-the-shoulder sleeves of the top add some extra style to the ensemble.
  3. For girl’s day: A fun dress is a must for a girls day out! Grab a fun and flowy dress like the one pictured and get ready to hang with your gals. I love the ruffled shoulders and synched waist of this look. It is so girly and sweet!
  4. At the office: Keep it classy at the office by wearing a gingham shirt tucked into a skirt. I love this look because it is just a touch of preppy.
  5. Out shopping: Rompers are one of my favorite spring and summer pieces, so obviously a gingham romper makes the list! This romper is cozy, cute, and completely classy. You can take this look from shopping to picnic to date as easy as pie. So versatile!
  6. Lounging around: Keep it cozy with a pair of cotton gingham shorts. I love this pair because of the tie-waist. It really gives off a fun retro vibe, don’t you think?

Gingham is a timelessly classy look. Do you have a favorite picnic-patterned piece? Comment below!

With everything going on in our lives, from school to work and everything in between, being stylish every day can seem like a tall order. Do you ever look at your favorite bloggers on Instagram and think “How in the world do they look so stylish EVERY DAY?!” I found a few of their secrets on how to look put-together at all times.

  1. Plan things out: You, of course, can’t plan for everything, but just like you try and plan your schedule out at the beginning of the week, try to do that with your outfits. I plan my outfits out ahead so my mornings are stress-free.
  2. Follow stylish women: I follow 4 or 5 really awesome style bloggers (Julia Engel, Cara Loren, and Amber Fillerup being my top 3). I really love their style and use their Instagram photos as inspiration for my outfits. I also follow boutiques like MOD that show outfit pairing examples.
  3. Invest in outfit staples: These are the basic fashion pieces that are the foundations of fashionable choices. If you are going to buy an item that you know you will pair with a lot of things, make sure it fits right, and invest in things that you know will last and that won’t quickly go out of style.
  4. Accessorize always: Try to have at least one accessory on, whether it is a statement necklace or a cute pair of earrings. It can even be a piece of jewelry that you wear with everything. I have a necklace and some bangle bracelets that I wear almost every day. They are my “staples” and go with everything. They instantly make me more stylish.

If your goal is to be a stylish gal, then these secrets are for you! There are some days when I am stylish, and others when I feel like bumming it, and that is perfectly fine. Style is an individual thing, and everyone’s style is different! Embrace it and have fun with it.

How to Style Black on Black This Fall

I think wearing black on black is so chic and sophistocated. But, there is a difference between wearing all black and looking sophistocated and wearing all black and looking overly grungy. We want to lean more towards classy and chic, so here are a few ways to do just that!

  1. Play with shades: There are different shades of black. When I say that, I mean there is lighter blacks that are more dark gray-ish and then there are pitch blacks. My advice is to play with different shades of black and dark gray in an outfit to add dimension and break up the black.f38aae0339472b8db4a38cf381077481
  2. Work with patterns: Wear black ripped jeans with a quilted black leather jacket and plain black or dark gray tee. The different patterns and textures of the pieces will keep things interesting and distract from the solomness of the dark shade. You can also wear black tops with white trim or patterns to add some accent!
  3. Go bold: This look is for the girl that knows wearing all black is an art and takes planning, and she embraces it. Like I said earlier, there is a fine line between looking sophistocated and going too overboard with wearing all black. In this outfit we go bold and we pair plain black skinnies with a classic leather biker jacket and black booties. We can even toss in a black handbag with silver zippers and snaps, so that the accents on the handbag accentuate the oufit. The silver accents on the buckles of the boots and the snaps on the jacket and handbag help break up the black.

Remember to keep things classy and chic when planning an all black ensemble. Be bold, and be brave when making fashion choices! J

So, here is the deal. You wore this super cute outfit out with your friends, and are feeling supa-fine. You all take a picture together, they post it, and you look at it later and think “holy cow, did I really look like THAT?!” We have all had that happen to us. Our outfit looks great in the mirror or on the hanger, but when we see our self later in a pic, we realize it was less than flattering. To avoid this happening to you ever again, here is a list of the most photogenic clothes!

  1. Fitted sweater: Even in the spring and summer, a sweater can be worn quite stylishly with a skirt or shorts! I know we all loooove our oversized sweaters and blouses, but save them for a day when you know you won’t be needed in any photos because they add bulk to your frame. If you just cannot part with your oversized tops, then tuck them into a pair of highrise shorts or jeans to show off your waist.115847-d-black-0
  2. A midi skirt: As we have discussed, I love midi skirts. They are a great equalizer that works for everyone and are appropriate for every occasion. They cinch your waist and make it look slim, then flairs out to give you shape!
  3. Strappy heels: These shoes are so popular right now- from the red carpet to prom to date night! A two strap heel, like the ones in the picture, straightens your posture, lengthens your legs, and if you choose a nude pair they go with everything!
  4. Off-the-shoulder: I have written about these before… I love them so much! They are so flattering because they show off your shoulders and collarbones while disguising your upper arms, which are the widest part of your arms.

If you know you are going somewhere where you know you will be photographed, use this guide to choose your ensemble!

Teen Tips: What to Wear When Meeting the Parents

A short time ago I wrote a blog about beauty tips when meeting your boyfriend’s parents for the first time, and in the blog I promised to write another one on what to wear when meeting the parents. Well, I aim to please! Here are my tips on how to make a good first impression with what you wear.

  1. Plan ahead: Your guy has told you when and where you will meet his parents, so now it is time to plan out your outfit! Planning ahead helps you feel more prepared and gives you time to pick the perfect outfit and try things on to make sure they look good together. Picking out what to wear a few hours before you are supposed to meet them is a recipe for disaster!
  2. Choose something new: This is a special occasion, so dress like it! Don’t wear your favorite shirt that your boyfriend always sees you in, pick something that is fresh and new. He will love seeing a different side of you, and wearing something fresh will make you feel stylish and confident.FullSizeRender (47)
  3. Wear statement shoes: Keep your outfit simple. Not flashy, not lots of patterns or prints, just simple. But, that doesn’t have to be the case with shoes! A good statement shoe is a great way to impress his momma.
  4. Colors are cool: If you have a colorful personality, wear color! You don’t have to keep colors muted if that isn’t your style, let your personality shine through! This can be something as simple as colored accessories or, like we said earlier, shoes!
  5. Keep it classy: This is the most important tip! Make the best impression possible on his parents by keeping your outfit tasteful and classy. Make them proud that their son is dating such a classy gal! Tight pants may make you feel confident and super fine, but they may not be the best choice for your first meeting. Pair them with a flowy shirt to offset them

Meeting the parents can be fun and exciting! Let your personality shine, and just be yourself!

Your alarm clock goes off, your running late, and you have nooooo idea what to wear. I’ve been in this situation more times then I care to admit, and over time I have come up strategies to come up with something to wear in a pinch.

1.     Pick your shoes first: Shoes are a vital part of any outfit. They have an impact on how you function throughout the day. Plan your outfit around your shoes. On the weekends, wear fun shoes, and on week days, wear practical shoes! Choose shoes that make sense for your day.

2.     Lay it out: Lay your outfits out the night before. This way, you can know if the colors and patterns work and you are prepared. When you are running late in the mornings, it is a huge relief to already have your outfit ready to go.large

3.     Repeat a past outfit, with a few modifications: There is no shame to repeating an outfit! If you don’t want to totally repeat it, just make a few modifications such as switching out shoes or accessories. When you are in a rush, turn to old favorites. If it aint broke, don’t fix it!

Use these tips for when you are running behind and still want to dress to impress!
