In honor of Fourth of July coming up, it’s the perfect time for some American flag DIYs to help put together your red, white, and blue outfit. With Pinterest being the hub for all things DIY, I found a craft that’s simple and produces the cutest, festive results! You’ll need a few tools and materials to get started.

As far as what you need, there’s not much!Chelsea Crockett - American Flag Cuffs You’ll need a pair of jeans that can be cuffed (preferably boyfriend style or ripped), safety pins, an American flag printed material, thread, and a needle. You can either find an American flag material at a craft store or substitute something as simple as a flag bandana. After you have the right tools and materials, you’re ready to begin your DIY!

  • First things first, turn your jeans inside out.
  • Pick which piece of material you want for each cuff and use safety pins to attach the fabric to the jeans.
  • Then, like the picture above, use the thread and needle to sow the material on!
  • Turn your jeans right-side out to enjoy your new patriotic pants!

It’s as easy as that! I can’t wait to see how yours turned out this holiday!

July is just a few weeks away, and it is one of my favorite months of the year! Why? Because of the 4th of July! I love fireworks and barbecuing and all that good stuff. Here are some style tips to make sure that you are stylin’ this July

  1. Pump up the patriotic: July is the month where you can bring out the most patriotic parts of your wardrobe. I love clothes that have red white and blue stripes worked into them, they are just so classy! You can also wear those American flag high waisted shorts that are buried at the bottom of your dresser. 😉large
  2. Overalls: I have to admit, I was skeptical about the overalls trend. Now I am a firm believer! I love shorts overalls. They are totally adorable, especially if they are a little distressed and have some personality!
  3. Wear those whites: White is such a crisp, clean, classy color. From flowey white maxi dresses to sweet sundresses or ensembles with some lace detail thrown in, you can never go wrong with white!
  4. Nice neon: When you are out on the town on some warm summer nights, adding a touch of neon to your outfit can bring out your tan and give you a little confidence boost! Wear pops of neon in your jewelry, on your shoes, or even on your handbag!

Have an awesome, stylish summer sweeties!

For our family, the Fourth of July means a BBQ picnic to celebrate our country with friends and family.  And a good old fashioned picnic means some yummy food!  This year, however, I’d like to keep the calories low instead of tons of tempting sweets and desserts.  It is swimsuit season :).  I’ve found some delicious treats that mainly involve red, white, and blue fruits, which means low calories are present!Chelsea Crockett - Patriotic Fruit

You really don’t need a recipe for most of these fruit snacks.  You just have to reenact some of the following pictures and voila, you have a USA fruit display.  It’s so simple to put some yogurt in a glass bowl.  Then add a thick layer of blueberries and top that with some watermelon cut into stars. You can easily use a star cookie cutter to do so!  How easy is that?

You can also make the USA flag with blueberries in the corner and rows of raspberries, white cheese cubes, and strawberries placed in order to represent the stripes.  If you need to add some sweetness, place a couple bowls of melted white chocolate and milk chocolate on the side of the dish.  Guests can dip the fresh fruit into the chocolate if they’d like.  Let me know your healthy ways to celebrate this July!

This Independence Day, get your snack on! Are you throwing a Fourth of July party or having family or friends over? If so, you want some cute ways to show your patriotic side through your food choice! Having cute snacks for your guests is always a must, so here is a super sweet treat to “wow” your guests!

All you need is bananas, strawberries, blueberries, and skewers. Slice your bananas into pieces about ¼ inch thick. chelsea crockett fruit
Clean your strawberries and cut the tops off, then slice them in half or cut them until they are in bite size pieces. Find a large serving tray. Take a skewer and start layering your bananas and strawberries onto the skewers. As you make more sewers, you want to lay them out and make the lines of bananas and strawberries line up to look like the red and white stripes of the flag. Also, as you get towards the end of your serving tray, add blueberries to the top of the skewers to look like the blue section of the flag, as seen in the picture.

This snack is not only healthy, it is super patriotic! God bless the USA!

July 4th is on its way! One of the easiest ways to show your patriotic side is to sport it on your nails! Here is a tutorial on how to get the most adorable, America inspired nails!

  1. Paint all of your nails, except for your pointer fingers, your favorite fiery shade of red. Paint your pointer fingers a nice shade of navy blue.9552238
  2. Once those nails have dried, take paint horizontal white stripes on all of the red nails besides your thumb nail. Paint vertical white stripes onto your thumb nail.
  3. Grab a pencil that you do not use any more, and pour out a little white nail polish onto a paper plate. Dip the tip of your pencil into the white polish and dot your navy blue nails with the white polish.
  4. Paint a clear coat over the polish to keep it from chipping.

Now, at any July 4th event you attend, you will be the talk of the party! Everyone will totally love your America themed nails!

Hello lovelies!

Memorial Day is fast approaching! Today I am going to give you some suggestions on how to look your best on this special day! Whether you are hanging out with friends, throwing a party, or just chilling with your family, I am here to make sure you are looking fab this Memorial Day.

I don’t know if you all know this, but I am really loving the high-waisted shorts trend. They are so adorable and give you a retro look. Search for a pair here:http://tiny.cc/HighWaistedShorts!  You can pair a white or red shirt with a pair of high-waisted shorts for a casual look on Memorial Day. You could also rock an American Flag printed pair like the ones shown in the picture below. Love em! Throw on a pair of white or red sneakers or strappy sandals to complete the look. This outfit is perfect if you plan on hanging out with your friends and keeping things low key.

Another outfit idea is to sport a sweet sundress. Sundresses are ideal when it comes to staying cool while enduring hot weather because they are so loose and flowy. If you are attending a barbecue or an outdoor event, this is your best choice. Not only are sundresses classic and adorable, they are also super comfy. I suggest wearing a sundress that is either white or is accented in patriotic colors for this occasion. Throw on a pair of classy wedge sandals and the outfit is complete! Need help picking out a dress? Check out my example below!

And finally, accessories! A sure way to spruce up any outfit is to add nail color. Paint your nails red or stripe them with white and blue! Another way to add a patriotic splash to your ensemble is to pucker up and apply bright red lipstick. Red lipstick adds character to any outfit!

Memorial Day is about honoring those who have given their lives for our country. On this day we thank the men and women who have sacrificed so much for the freedom and safety of this country. Have a blast this Memorial Day!
