When I first think of Vaseline, I immediately think of dry skin. I typically put it on my cracked lips or other dry areas that need some extra moisturizing. Recently, I found out all the other amazing beauty hacks that Vaseline can do and needed to share them with you! Life just got so much easier!

Rub a small amount of Vaseline on your eyelashes to condition them and even help them grow longer!
Dab a little on split ends for a quick hair treatment! Wash it right out with shampoo and conditioner.
If your lipstick seemed to stain your lips, rub some Vaseline on them and then wipe it off with a tissue. The color will come right off!
Before you spray your perfume, rub in a small amount of petroleum jelly on your skin where you typically apply it for a longer lasting scent.
Use it with cotton balls as makeup remover!
For a cream eye shadow effect, apply some Vaseline on your lid before applying your powder shadow.
Having trouble opening your nail polish? Rub some petroleum jelly at the bottom of the cap to screw it off easier!
If your brows won’t stay in place, comb some Vaseline through them to keep them tamed.
If you’re having trouble getting an earring in, rub a little Vaseline around the piercing hole so the earring will slide right in!

Ridiculous beauty routines and stories are all over the internet these days! “Don’t do that, it’s bad for you” or “Do this, it’ll make you younger” are often seen as headlines for almost every idea or product that’s ever been sought out. It can get exhausting; but no worries Insiders, I’m here to break some of the toughest beauty myths out there. It’s time to get some answers!

“Use petroleum jelly to make your lashes grow longer.” FALSE. There are many products on the market that aid in eyelash growth, but this isn’t one of them. Use of petroleum jelly can actually clog glands in your eyes leaving them in discomfort or infected!
“Toothpaste will help take care of a breakout.” FALSE. I can assure you that using toothpaste on a zit will not get rid of it. Instead, it will dry out your skin and could lead to irritation.
“Products that make my face feel cool or tingly are good!” FALSE. Chances are your skin is trying to fight off irritation. This can eventually lead to swelling and inflammation.
“Skin never adapts to facial products.” TRUE. As long as you apply products that make your skin clear and healthy, those products will never stop working.
“Dark spots are just from old age.” FALSE. Dark spots and most freckles are caused by damage to the skin from overexposure to the sun. In order to keep your skin in tip top shape, make sure to apply SPF!

We’ve all been victims of it…dry, flakey lips. They’re the worst! You pile on layers and layers of Chap Stick, and still, NOTHING! So how can you beat the dreaded…

We’ve all been victims of it…dry, flakey lips. They’re the worst! You pile on layers and layers of Chap Stick, and still, NOTHING! So how can you beat the dreaded winterized lips? I promise there is a way!

Start off by trying not to lick your lips. A lot of people think that when they’re lips get dry, then they need to lick them. Wrong! This will actually end up drying out your lips more since it is removing your lips natural oils. Another way to have soft lips is to apply chap stick the right way! Go for a lip balm that says “moisturizing” or “medicated”. These types of balms hold moisture in, while repairing the damage. For extra protection apply a wax or petroleum jelly seal over the top to really set the balm.

Lip scrubs are a great quick fix. The sugar crystals will gently remove the dead skin, while the oil will replenish moisture and create a soft surface. Just be sure not to over exfoliate. You don’t want to create sensitive lips! Get rid of the pesky winter lips by taking care of them the right way!
